The east coast storm is showing signs of coming further west ie Richmond. The amounts of snow east of Richmond will be up to one foot with high winds. Up and down the east coast will feel the effects of this storm. Eastern NC over to Raleigh now in play as well

18°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 21° today, then falling again this afternoon back to the single digits. Light at the end of the tunnel appears to be a forecast for near 40° on Sunday, and more "normal" temps after that (30s).

Hang in there, fellas. Stay warm.

Just packed wood in the fireplace, filled up the wood box, and then put a magnetic heater on my generac gen. High probability of losing power
in this mess. Forecasts keep changing, one of those stay tuned deals. Nothing so far, still mostly in Georgia and SC and comin' up

Good morning! What are you guys doing to the weather up North? We have the coldest morning in the last two years at 18˚ and still falling. They said it was only suppose to get to 25˚!

now you know how the po folks live. :D

   / Good morning!!!! #67,245
Just dropped to 16˚ and two local fire departments are at a barn fire. I hope they can put it out without calling us to help.

Do you think they might save the foundation?
That was the standing joke with the VFF fire dept. my Dad belonged to.

Eric Yes it is more satisfying to work with hand tools, been learning form a fellow on your side of the puddle. Paul Sellers does a lot of videos and i have learned a lot from him. I have 3 power miter saws and like using a dovetail saw much better.

Buckeye, A shooting board is a board set up with a stop to set your work against and another board sticking out from under the first to slide a hand plane on it's side so you can trim the ends of your work just right.

Have a good one Ed

You guys, in the SE, need to talk to your buds in Georgia about borrowing some of their snow equipment?

10F and partly cloudy @ 10:00, overnight low was 1F. Hourly weather forecast is calling for a high of 21F @ 16:00.

Looks like some snow just to the west of us on the radar, doubt that we'll get all that much.

That storm on the East Coast looks like a real mess.

Thoughts and prayers for those having to deal with that ... or abnormally low temps.

Please stay warm and safe.

Yep, 18F at my house this AM. and 32F in Anchorage Alaska...I should go up there to warm up.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 0ー with some clouds this morning. Heading to 18ー with some light snow in afternoon. Taking wife out shopping to stock up on whatever she has on her list. Furnace intake pipe finally thawed out yesterday. But going to wait until Sunday or later to put furnace back together. Going to be single digits for highs starting tomorrow.
Don, I will trade locations with you for a week or 2.
Eric, Lathe projects where hitch pins that I cut down from 1/2" to 12 mm. Set of 4 for legs of chipper. Made a couple pins to lock chipper down on dolly. Put a nice pilot chamfer on ends of pins. I need to come up nice project. I should have taken some picture of the speed reducer on drill press. But my stuff looks nothing like RNG's.
ED, glad you are getting out in shop. Gives the mind a break from everyday problems.
Riptides, prayers for wife's continued recovery.
Buckeye, sorry to hear you need more surgery. Prayers.
Kyle, prayers for your daughter.
All those having health problem. Prayers.
Good Morning All.

Thank you Ron. She needs prayers.

. I'll be heading to Connecticut tomorrow and Friday...forecast down there doesn't look much better..[/QUOTE]

Roy snow is suppose to start early morning on Thursday and continue into Thursday night with strong wind gusts, depending on what side of the river your headed 8 to 10 inches on the eastern side of the state, 4to 6 central and 1 to 3 in the south western section of Connecticut. Have a safe trip remember here in Ct snow clearing isn't as good as up north.

Got an email yesterday afternoon, from Butch Otter’s assistant, about his schedule. It was 32 degrees here and 34 degrees in Boise, at the Statehouse.

The low was 14* this morning, it was in the low 40's yesterday. Today's going to be partly cloudy with the high in the 40's.

I can't believe the weather on the east coast. I'm at 8300 ft and have warmer weather then you with half the snow. Been like this for a few weeks.

Wyoming might be the place to stay for the winters.

Hope everyone makes it thought this cold spell with out any problems.
CWB.

that's marvelous.

as i walk down to the barn to find a snow shovel...
Light fluffy stuff can be blown with a powerful blower too, but if this becomes an icy mess,
which it often does, then all we can do is wait for it to melt.
Well I would feel obligated to shovel the front walk, some things never change.

17 degrees now predicted to go to 30 snow to start early morning Thursday and continue through until some time late evening. I don't mind cleaning snow at home I have my heated cab John Deere ready to go but then I'll need to head to the lake and clear snow with a Honda snow blower I'm not happy. Maybe I should just invest in a trailer so haul the tractor back and fourth.
Have to call friend in Florida and harass him with the weather he has been getting
Buckeye hope you get your 5 guys haven had one in years but now you have me thinking of going for a ride
Elk is better than deer in my humble opinion and moose tastes like swamp one of the worst meat I have ever been "treated to"

Robin breasts taste like dark meat chicken as I recall, haven’t had it since I was a teen. Mom’s family ate them along with a lot of other things during the depression in northeastern Alabama.

It's really cold here in NYC. But I have all sorts of amenities available here. Wife needs assistance getting up and moving about, but we are now moving. Pain management still an issue, with me doping her up every 4 hours. Missing in my life is sleep. I can do 5 hour sleep stretches and function for the day, been that way for a while, but the 4 hour window is a definite wall for me. Hope to start weaning meds, end of week.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts and prayers.

On the weather front, seems the snow call is as elusive here in NYC as it is in the Washington area. Although the people here in NYC are still saying between 1-3 in the City and 10+ over on parts of Long Island. At least they have been consistent all week on the call.

Good luck to our Northern TBN friends and of all things, those of you in our Southern Coastal areas.

Looks like 4”-8” with winds gusting over 40. Great!
I’m not feeling well, went to doc yesterday and got a Z-Pack. Feel worse today, but I have a dinner date, and I can’t be courting and sparking feeling like this!

now you leave those poor birds alone and buy only tender chicken breasts from Farmer.
None of this tastes like chicken stuff, buy the real chicken. ;)
I sure would like to try elk.
Done bear stew, and that was horrible.

Warmed up to 32 here, felt nice outside, might see if I can get a couple of hours
of project work done inside the woodshop; turned the heaters on this morning in there. Single heater on low
had it around 46 degrees, about where I wanted it to keep the little fridge in there from getting wrecked. Plus if I don't keep some heat
on, everything gets coated with mold. Had to clean that off once, know better now.

Now that I know what all those objects are in RS's Seaworld display, I'm even more impressed.
RS, that's a lot of weight, how's your floor?
I love fish tanks, really enjoyed having them even if stuff died.
Best one was when I was living aboard my boat. So funny to watch the water in the fish tank slosh back and forth
while the fish sort of looked around wondering what was going on. Little five gallon tank, very well secured.

I bet RNG is off on some trip, hopefully not getting stuck in snow. Quite the adventurer.

63°F and no rain

Same plan as yesterday as I didn’t get much done. Minor bouts of dizziness and nausea, being 10 ft off the ground wasn’t where I wanted to be. Seems to have passed.

Prayers and best wishes for Rip and Buck and all with needs.

Be safe
Have a great day

This is in the basement ... the floor is concrete ... so shouldn't be a problem ... ;)

I'm really surprised I haven't had more any losses than I have had ...

That's one it would probably pay to have a watertight top on ...
