All the painting I did over the summer left some overspray on the windshield of the truck. With rain on the way Friday, I used a razor blade to scrape it off, followed up with a clay bar and window cleaner to get the last traces off. Then installed a new pair of wiper blades, so I should be able to see where I'm goin' in the rain.

Came inside for lunch and saw a Facebook post about a live high speed chase through our area. Been following the scanner audio feed off a web page, and after a long, convoluted trail through several counties and very high speeds, the suspect overturned his truck and is currently awaiting firefighters for extrication. Apparently the spree started this morning with him hosing down a house in Redding, CA with semi-automatic ***** fire:confused2:, so the vehicle is being closely watched. Many times the scanner audio was garbled, but posters on Facebook were transcribing the info real time, so it was possible to follow the chase on Google Maps. A real Smoky And The Bandit deal, complete with dirt roads, being stuck for a bit and getting free, and round and around a small area at the end. Just amazing what the Internet has made possible.

Still have a few things to tarp this afternoon, and get the old tarp cut up and folded so I can toss it in the mechanic's dumpster tomorrow. Ran out of rope to finish tying down the big tarp on the firewood wood pile, so I'll be in town tomorrow for more.

I had some ZICAM and started using it every 5 hours starting Sunday morning. It says on the box that it shortens colds - I believe it.

I've had good luck with Zicam as well, Don.

Just got my flu shot last week, so it's not to late. My doctor said that unlike last year, the serum has much better coverage of the active flu strains. I get one every year, and other than a little shoulder soreness the next day, never had a problem being sick. But we're all different, and YMMV...

Your hope to get well quick worked. I'm back to normal, almost - a 3 day flu/cold/whatever. (Wife says it was not the flu, not long enough) First day sinus and ache, second day high fever 102˚ very sick, coughing, sore throat, (never any stomach problems), third day today, little lingering cough, no fever feeling ok was clearing trails today. I was going to get the flu shot but then my Dad died and I forgot. Did the other Texans get a flu shot? My wife got the flu shot and she did not get sick.

I've thought about creating a English type hedge, but way too much work. The old vid of hedge laying was interesting, that girl could work!
I took my sister's car into my mechanic today. She brought it with her a couple of years ago, from Texas. No rust, it's a old Impala, with 200K on it. One thing for sure, it really needs brakes. If the brakes and other issues are too expensive, she will buy another. I was surprised how bad those brakes were!!
Meanwhile I am doing some more work at the rental. I priced the job at HD and Menards. I was surprised how much cheaper Menards was than the depot. And the selection was better. There are no local lumber yards left.

good evening all. 44F this morning, clear, light wind. Sky soon started to cloud up, wind stayed light to moderate, High temp was 54F. Rain started 2:25 was over by 2:45 . Today's activities started with kitch clean-up for cleaning lady day :confused2: , followed by wood pile cleanup (almost done) and tarped, and a watch a video by Dr Ken Bailey on the Christmas story. It is disappointing how many myths there are in the Christmas story.

My son gave me a muzzleloader as an early Christmas present, so I could use it next week when season opens. So yesterday I cleaned it and sighted it in. Lots of fun.

Good morning all, 38 going to 60 with scattered sprinkles. Tried to post yesterday but can't find it today so I guess it did not work. Yesterday was a quiet but stressful day. Dr's blood test came back saying her fluid is to high and that is what is making her so tired and short of breath. Took 2 weeks to figure that out. Stress with wife's family, as always. Feel like going fishing and not baiting the hook so the fish won't bother me but don't have time or the weather. OK Rant over. Thanks for listening guys.

Eric, Thanks for the video, my mom is likely the same age as the farm girl. She graduated high school in 1942.

Praying that everyone is feeling better. Never had a flu shot, wife gets very sick from them so we never bother.

PJ, love the house, we have instruments all around too. Those we intend to learn to play one day.:laughing: 1 mandolin, 2 banjos, 2 guitars and a keyboard thrown in for good measure.
