Long as your not headed to LaGrange.

I'm only about 25 minutes away....

Don, a bittersweet day for your family about the cattle. But this way, you can spend more time with them and not the cattle.

We had maybe 1/2" of rain yesterday morning. We could use more. I might borrow Erics welder.

66° and absolutely gorgeous outside. Stiff cool breeze blowing. Canning 3 qts of tomatoes, and picked some corn for later.

My 93 yo dad tried to round up some cows last week, by himself. It didnt work out. One bull keeps getting out, no matter what, so that ones going to market when he can get them. Course he does this stuff without asking for help.

63F and partly cloudy @ 10:00, high today of 74F, which for the beginning of August is a blessing indeed. We aren't supposed to hit the 80's again until next Wednesday, and then it will only be high 70's/low 80's through the Monday after next.

It rained pretty good yesterday morning and then a big thunderstorm came through yesterday afternoon and dumped some more ... total of around 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch for the day. Winds were pretty crazy with 40 - 50 mph gusts. Doppler-indicated tornado warning issued last night for just southeast of Canton. Rain chances low until this coming Monday.

Didn't get a whole lot done yesterday ... some clean up in the garage, a little sanding done on a side panel (one of six) on the big dump cart, but I did manage to complete the sanding on the handles for the pitchfork and the square nose shovel. Now I just need to put a finish on them ... thinking about using boiled linseed oil, which will be the first time I've tried that.

Winds are supposed to be calmer tomorrow, although they appear to be pretty calm right now ... so will probably hold off on any spraying until then.

Will probably remove the MMM on the Kubota and put the loader, pallet forks and boxblade back on today ... then pull the soil screen frame out of the shop and flip it over so I don't have to overhead weld the other side.

Now that we've had some rain, it might be a good day to do a little digging on that surface drain line at the northeast corner of the polebarn to see if I can fix it's slope so that it will drain and not have standing water in it (mosquito heaven)

I have a bunch of 1/2" or 3/4" thick styro insulation panels that I need to attach to the skirt boards on the outside of the barn, along with some 5' wide 6 mil visqueen that I need to put down to keep the ground drier around the outside. Can't really put the visqueen down though until I can cover it with gravel, as the UV light from the Sun will cause it to deteriorate. And I need to screen the gravel to get the dirt out of it, plus get the final grade on the exterior ... so it's a bit of a runway and somewhat involved :D

As usual, no shortage of stuff to do ...

Got the corn shucked, 🍅 still cooking.

Cleaned lint out of a desk fan earlier this morning. Couldn't get the fan blade off the shaft. Holder cap is reverse threaded, don't remember if blade is threaded or just pulls off, been a long time since I've last had it off. Fan is a panasonic from the 80's, a great, quiet fan.

... RS, why don't you kick back this weekend and just relax.
LOL ... never happen ... although we are supposed to go over to the nephew's this weekend to torch his burn pile.

Did you ever post a pic of your finished grapple?
Define "finished" ...

If it includes paint, then no ...

Otherwise, yes ... but mebbe only it's in own build thread:

I think that's what your were working on...the Eiffel Tower.
Been a couple of projects since then:

1. Woodsplitter (operational, but might need a few tweaks)

2. LPGS (still unfinished, probably get back on that this coming winter)

72°F and .12 inches rain

Off to Hilo, Kekoa has CGC class. Could be interesting as he hasn't done a consistently good stay all week. A bit strange in that he was good at Stays from back in his puppy class. Maybe the teacher can offer a solution and get him back on track.

Be safe
Have a great day

Mom is in the hospital with stomach issues, and her dementia has gone way downhill in the last two weeks, although she seemed somewhat better this morning. They said all her blood work and tests were normal, at 94 she's a tough one.
Tractor shopping, not paying new prices for the amount of work I need it for. Some are worn out junk, some are asking new prices, hard to find what I want.

On the weather front, a fool front passed us about an hour ago, air is drying out nicely.

a fool front, I like that. Like a progression of fools coming through your neighborhood...:D
Randy, will you need a new avatar now? I really like the ZZToppop idea, though I never listened to them.
PJ could show you how to play the guitar

had to come in and rest a little, ate some organic hot dogs with lots of mustard for lunch and headed back to barn.
New chain on saw, few projects to finish. Might do a little more watering, usually that brings the rain...hasn't worked so far.

Toppop, hope your Mom is home soon.
