Good morning! Whipper and a coyote had a stand off last night and after an hour of barking I finally went outside and chased the coyote away and Whipper thought she did good. I never saw the coyote but the way Whipper barks and moves gives a good indication of what wild life is coming into the yard. She got to chase a drove of 50 piglets yesterday but came up empty, sometimes too many to choose from and you get none.
The rain never came yesterday this morning there is a intermittent light rain. I finished the permitter trail from the front gate along the East and North fence line to the back TBN bridge. This trail now connects to the trail Ron and I cleared making a total of about 2 miles through the woods. I noticed the spring growth starting and it already needs maintenance.
Our VFD has a new 4wd dually pickup to fight brush fires with. We bought it with our fish fry money. We still need to weld a platform on the back to squirt water off. We retired a 1980 pickup which my Cousin's kid bought by having the highest bid.
I need to check the route for the antenna wire and go a head and order everything so Mom and Dad can get the HD stations from Austin.
Made Another dewberry pies yesterday - working on perfecting the recipe. I added applesauce along with the dates, banana, and whole wheat flour to soften the edge crust to my liking. I made it with no sugar and it tasted a bit too tart so I think the minimum amount of sugar would be one tablespoon. I have enough berries to make about 10 more pies so by the end of the month I should have the perfect pie.
Still looking to get bored but can't find the time.
Ron when you say patio day. what exactly do you do? Knowing you you don't just stare at the grass growing, their must be some interesting to watch from your patio.
