Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #54,781
up early, enjoying Cat Fevers pics and other snow pics and then happy to report
it will 51 here today, 61 here tomorrow and 71 on Tuesday.

About a hundred bulbs came in yesterday, going to plant them today or tomorrow. Not sure if they will come up this year, should have been planted last fall. This is about the 600th bulb I have planted and each year I plant several hundred more. Ordered over a hundred small trees and shrubs from Burgess, very inexpensive plants, will see how much luck I have with them. So I'll be busy planting in the next few weeks, with the nut trees coming in too.
For sure one of my favorite things to do. Watering all the plants less so but this year I'm going to complete my mobile watering rig using a 55 gallon drum. No more pulling hoses. Still a lot of trips; new trees need, so they say, 5 gallons per tree per week.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

Good morning all. We are surrounded by a cold fog, with ice slowly melting off the roof.

Yesterday afternoon I had a furtle around where the water was breaking out onto the drive Although it hadn't been raining for some time, the water was still running at quite a rate. After a little excavation I found bits of old broken clay tile mixed up in the spoil that had been churned over by the dozer.

A little more digging and a few minutes to let the water clear, then it was easy to see where a 6" drain that runs down parallel with the edge of the track has been crushed.

Happy planting Drew. Take it steady though, you can give yourself another day to do it without anyone complaining!

A few years back my wife planted snow drops at the top of the drive and usually each year they are up around this time. Unfortunately the construction trucks have done the same to them as the drain.

21 going to 35 here. Storm coming in tuesday. Freezing rain and ice to start. I would rather just have regular snow storm. Second cup of coffee already done. Long day ahead I guess.

31 going to 53 and sunny.

Got a couple of loads of firewood cut yesterday...had to build a new pallet cage for the second load...about to run out of my barn-build-leftover lumber.

Saw our first crocus blooming yesterday.

Randy, I've hunted down by the Dismal Swamp in Chesapeake many times on Ballahack Road, but the farm I was talking about is in Southampton County, a few miles from the NC line.

Great snow pix...still hoping I'll be able to take some here before winter is over.

I think it is only 31 here.

Wood stove is doing its thing. Yesterday I got some seat time building a bonfire for my baby girl's 8th birthday and moving firewood logs in prep for the replanting this spring. New job has me Traveling a lot again and what with court date coming, planning a new house atop the basement here, tenant issues with my rentals I'm just busy. Seat time or chainsaw time is my only solace and my only workout all too often.

Today after Church I will get some chainsaw therapy, soon as the sun comes up I think I will got move some more logs before church maybe. As dusk approaches I will grill some brats and watch commercials as hopefully the Falcons win their 1st ring...

A couple weeks ago I did get a tractor pic of the beach groomer in Jamaica (our 2nd honeymoon, we plan to take one every year).

I hope and pray all is well with all of y'all.
As for me, I'm doing fine.

Be Well,
David

Thanks for the thrill Cat Fever...

Don, what are you pouring on the Kale. Looks like salad dressing and I know that can't be :)
It's blended mixture of:
1 cup raw unsalted soaked cashews
1 red bell pepper
1/2 lemon - juice
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon salt

Dehydrator 5 hours set at 135˚

I just check them, they are light, crispy and delicious.

19F now mid 30's for high.
Plans for today...gas up pickup, cigar shop, putter, might watch half of Super Bowl.

While Mrs. was store hopping I call it the mall yesterday I was setting chatting w/older gentleman and his wife,it was easy to notice how rude kids were to older people and to there parents,:ashamed: at times seeing such actions and some of it I place the blame on the parents... like the older gentleman said "belt on the @ss would cure that"

Enjoy the day all.
