View attachment 497497I've been off work for a week and usually don't get on here much at home. Many pages back I mentioned getting a new sled. First trip out was great. It far outperforms my old sled (2012)
In SLC it is raining a little with more rain/snow mix until Wednesday. Temps are mild with it being 48 right now at 11 pm.

What was not kept clean, the chimney, creosote build-up?

I just took it off my tractor yesterday everything works. I use it about once a year.

Sorry, misunderstood. Thought it was an unknown blade you were considering buying. My bad!

14 right now...heading to the mid-20's.

Stepdaughter has returned from a 2 week house sitting stint in Lebanon, NH. The house had a pellet stove and I hope it's not the same house Thomas wrote about!

Maybe a dump run this morning...no other plans.

Good morning!

Drew thanks for the link to the new drag blades. I was calling it a 3-way blade but it's actually called a 6-way. I'll put out the word around town and see if anyone is interested before advertising. This old Iron is very heavy - they don't make them like this anymore so I'm hoping someone will see the value and snatch it up for $700.:D That gives me room for a friends, family and TBN discount.

glad it helped. A six way, if they all work without that wonderful push against a tree experience, and nothing is bent,
you bet I'd ask 700. It's a cat 2 also which means larger tractors can use it.
So here's the question, is it worth Don spending 20 bucks on three rattle cans of correct color paint?
Would that provide good ROI? Or does its original patina have value as showing the true history of the machine?
Two very different buyers... Since he is getting up to the half way line of the cost of a new unit, what does your local
buyer expect? (vs say Greenwich CT) For Texas farmers/ranchers who actively use their equipment and have long ago scraped all the paint off, then they will look at the "as is" with a different set of eyes. I'm guessing that's Don's approach.
Paint has been used to cover many sins, cracks, discoloration, etc which would have told their story before being hidden.

Yes, I'll do 12 runs, 3 in series, to support 48vdc system. 4 would exceed the 150vdc max of the charge controllers. I'll have 12 panels, 3360w per CC, my 4th cc will be my existing 4kw array.

My Canadian friend, Dave, and I pretty much planned out a build in place approach. Tomorrow, I'll be busy predrilling 2x2 aluminum angle for support frames. Hope to get installed Monday, but wx report is sounding less than optimistic with strong winds and rain.
I've been pricing some systems. If I do one, I'll install myself, only way to get a decent payback.

Pretty sure you do. Any drone over .49 lbs.

I'm pretty sure under the current administration that picky little rules like that might be ignored.
but how about ROPS, seat belts, airbag, crush zone, etc etc etc
Just like a tractor, hard to fit under things...but likely way safer.
and all that weight would make a sled a slug and it probably wouldn't even get airborne.
one of these days the safety forces in this world, often lead by insurance companies, will
set their eyes on snowmobiles, jetskis, etc. Just a matter of time.
But for now, a highly tuned engine wailing at high rpm as you go screaming up over that mogul,
catching air for a full four seconds and whumping down into an explosion of soft powder and powering upwards.
I'll take one of those....:D

these snow pics are great, keep them coming

Well, we got the groundhog day tree taken down. Don't know why she wanted it up 2 months ahead of time.

Good Morning! 51F @ 7:15AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High 49F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 80%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch.

Cancelled camping trip, as it would be a wet trip to a soggy campground and pitch a tent under cloudy, showery skies. Spent the day yesterday getting organized for taxes, will try to finish that up today. Good task for a rainy day, which we'll be having for the next week or so.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend...

Cold, 21 or so, going to upper 30's later, breezy, but at least sunny. Warming then cooling, then warming again over the next 10 days or so.

Wngsprd, I think we had this conversation before, but I forgot,(old age), where in SE Virginia do you hunt? My uncle had a bunch of acreage he farmed in Chesapeake that bordered the Dismal Swamp Canal, great hunting there!

Don, I didn't notice the blade was cat 2, I assumed it was a cat 1.

I'm getting ready to start a custom build from a tandem boat trailer, I always had some things in mind that store bought trailers don't have.

30 this morning and headed to 43 today.

Don nice blade. I've got a servis blade built identical. Family inheritance so no price point for your blade. But did some looking around on CL. Found a new 8' 6 way just a lot lighter and one cat 1 for $950. So I'd say you're in the ball park.

Cat. Nice ride. Looks fun. Wife would never go for it. Put her on a jet ski once. She was removing chunks from my back before we got on plane.

Got most of the rock spread yesterday. Still 10-12 tons left. Plan to finish that today. Brush piles are still burning will need to be repiled. May see about lighting another one today.

Will be cutting and drilling aluminum for my solar mounts today.

Great pic, Cat. And uphill, wow!!!

Be safe
Have a great day
