Good morning. Forecast was for freezing fog this morning. It's freezing all right (-4C/29F) , yet quite clear, with the sky a beautiful blend from pink on the horizon to pale blue up above. With Bups warning of what may be to come, I better start moving some good firewood closer to the house.

Really enjoyed the game last night. Commercials were a mixed bag, as usual.

Got some firewood to split and stack before it warms up. Need to clean out the bluebird boxes, and make any needed repairs. Then bills to pay, and more taxes to work on...finally got my 1099s Saturday.

35 degrees out now, zooming up to 64 in bright sunshine today. Next two days are warm, bet more Spring flowers start to pop out. I have bulb shoots coming up all over the place. Shhhhh, don't tell the deer....

After a doc appt the next town over, I'm back to plant about a hundred tulip and other bulbs, and then may overseed the nut orchard area. Both local rental places have broken overseeders, and the one from Land Pride, whoeeee, in the 5 to 6 grand range. Super nice piece of machinery but unless I grow something else to use that seeder for, like hay, which I have no equipment for, fancy piece of equipment would just sit. Makes no sense so I'm going to use my dinky little drop seeder which has a row of spikey wheels on it, which come before the seed, make the spikes useless but if I go over the whole place twice, once with seed and once empty, it seemed to work pretty well with the annual rye. Very soft soil so I think I can get away with this very low rent approach. My helper is getting a cultipacker of some sort next week and he said he would run it over the new seed. Bought 200 pounds of contractor's mix, 75% fescue. Think I'm going to put some weight in the empty seeder this time to help with penetration.

About 32 here right now. Looks to be a nice day shaping up. Was on the road and outside most of the day yesterday. I looked at the wood pile a few times. LOL. The maul was calling but I was more interested in my wife.

Today, I need to inspect the back forty for fence issues. Seems the horses are testing the fence again, and for some reason, it is not shocking. I know I held it. I don't think that is smart.

Zero this morning, going for a high of 19 and snow in the forecast for the next 3 days. I scraped 6-9" of the stuff off every bodies drive ways yesterday. Our township plow doesn't work on Sundays, nor Saturdays so I must go out this morning and clean up the windrow he will leave.
Don't get me wrong here people, I am not bitching, I love the snow.

Soggy week comin' up. Weatherman's guessing almost nine inches of rain by the time Friday rolls around. Been blowin' and rainin' all night, shakin' the roof and makin' the porch cover squeak, so it's off to a good start.

Started looking at countertop and cabinet laminates for the van yesterday, and it's amazing how real the wood and stone patterns look. Will get some samples on order today.

Mom had a cardiac event that set off her monitor alarm this morning, I'm thinking that's what happened Saturday night as well. They're doing more tests today, ruled out stroke.
20's going to 50's, then 60's tomorrow.
Someone gave me a boat and trailer, I'm removing the trim pump and cylinders and tossing the boat as soon as I can find a place to hide it! Then I'm using the tandem trailer for a custom project. More on that later.

I need a nice day this week for a road trip with the tractor to feed Mom's cows. I put one or two round bales in several of her fenced fields and she just has to open a gate to feed. This usually last a month and this will be the last feeding of the year because she is down to her last 5 bales. There is a skunk under the last 5 bales so it might get interesting.

It snowed most of the day yesterday, but was 35F so not much accumulated. Most roads plowed so not terrible, but if warming continues, flooding will start.

38°F and foggy this morning, going up to 57° today. Expecting some thunderstorms this evening. Mid-60s tomorrow. Snow on Wednesday. Sixties again by the weekend. Gotta love winter here.

Got a lot done outside over the weekend. Never got very warm, but sunny and little wind.

Two walls up on the sunroom Friday. Hoping he can get a roof on today before the rains come tonight.

66°F and no rain

In the years we've had our wx station here we've seen low of 58° to high of 84°, but those extremes aren't common. Below 62° usually means snow on Mauna Kea and some sort of front. Above 82° means some system has disrupted our trade winds. As the Big Island has 11 of the 13 climate zones greater variation routinely exists in other areas.

Great game, but I'm still stuffed from all the great food. I participated in the opening of the imu. Excellent explanation of traditions by the local guy in charge.

Storm headed our way, but hope to make progress on new panel installation before the winds and rain hit.

Didn't watch the game. I ignored the NFL this season after they made it clear they would do nothing to stop what I saw as disrespectful behavior towards our national anthem. I didn't watch even a single play all year, and saw no reason to change that yesterday. On the food front, though, while I was out working in the pleasant weather yesterday, my Wife was making a turkey dinner with all the "fixins". It was delicious. She also baked two loaves of fresh bread, and a couple dozen chocolate chunk cookies. She packed me leftovers for lunch today. Yummy.

Good evening all. 61F this morning overcast and very humid air. Concrete in garage still cold so a whole lot of condensing going on around here. It got windy, somewhat less cloudy and 81F today. Cooling trend for next 3 days then warm again. After choir practice went to Sherman to order bike(deposit and decide on tires,handle bars etc) then lunch with wife and shopping. Decided too windy to ride, go tomorrow. Been working through issues with Windows Media Center program guide have all the channels I normally use working. :dance1:
