I gonna jerk a mole out of the ground, turn him loose, if the cat doesn't catch him, early spring, if the cat catches him he won't see his shadow anymore, either way I'm rid of the mole.

Good Morning! 47F @ 8:30AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will become overcast during the afternoon. High 57F. Winds light and variable.

Back on the radiator fan shroud today, cutting the large holes for the fans and shooting a coat of paint.

Bury the conduit I dug up earlier if there's any daylight left...

I like your plan, probably just as reliable as the ground hog, maybe Bill Murray could make a movie about that, (Mole Be Gone Day)

Kyle, the gravel is screened to get the big rocks out, it has a lot os different size particles and after one rain hits it it settles good the sand and smaller gravel seeps into the open spaces of the larger gravel locking it together. It was $290 a load/ Yards?

Insulation does not go next to the metal, the Ice and water shield does and the solid plywood decking and then insulation. I agree with your roofer if batted insulation is next to the R panel which has ridges to allow humidity to enter and then needs air to dry it out. The rolled raised seam does not have ridges so the holes at the end of the panel do not need covering. What type of underlayment is your roofer using?

very productive day, got all my tposts installed, those big guys made it look easy...picked up a whole treeline full of brush and sticks, probably hadn't been cleaned out in 20 years, and now there's room to overseed about two feet closer to the trees. Number of large overhanging limbs, red oak, need to get a real tree person to take them down, too big for the B team. And finally hooked up the solar electric zapper to my rose garden and nicely shocked myself when done. All good.

Nursery in Georgia sending me my fig and nut trees called and asked if they could ship next week instead of this week, said they were getting better stock in. Hmmmm, well sure. Good, another week to get the holes measured and dug.
Very windy out, wasn't earlier this morning, lit the fire in the burn pit, which burned for a while and then almost went out, then the wind picked up and I had to watch it for awhile. Jumped out and burned up about ten sq feet of field, no big deal, I was on the other side of the pile and didn't see it immediately, but the grass is very dry. I had sprayed the whole area down with water before I started but the wind dried it out. No more burning today.

0ーF is to cold for me too but we do get it, that would be -18ー C , with Ground hog day coming up maybe Wiarton Willie will give us some hope for spring.
It doesn't matter what that rodent says, we will get 6 more weeks of winter anyway.

I've had to deal with a lot of such limbs here, as there are too many to be able to pay for someone else to do the work. I use a Stihl pole saw, and start at the outer ends taking off smaller limbs first. Then start chunking up the large, main, limb a few feet at a time, trying to make the cuts some multiple of 18" for the wood stove, and always being sure to stay out of the path of the falling lumber. I can only work an hour or so at a time at this as it's very hard on the arms and neck, but an hour's worth of cutting leads to several more of clean up, so spacing it out actually makes it easier.

Thanks for the good thoughts, guys. Wife is good to go, she has 2 more years of tomoxifin therapy to go. I plowed out the drive, and lanes around the property. Then we went to lunch, followed by shopping. Got back home, had some cherry pie. Now cruising the net, life is good!!

Be safe!

TxDon not sure signs are there for cold and stormy but SE Ridge comes right back. Yesterday's high here 35 today 67. The one who I think knows the most about the weather in my opinion is in Texas so we shall see what he says Saturday

I wish I could. These are really high, far beyond my 16' Echo pole saw.
Old large trees. This is when you understand why they call them tree surgeons from their cost. I also have a big limb overlying the road out front so I have a full day for a truck. That's when I start thinking about getting a used bucket truck but the last thing I need is more equipment to maintain.

My day started with heavy snow on the way to work, then it ended, the sun came out, and hit near 50°.

Good evening all. 46F this morning, clear and calm. Wind kicked up a bit, temp made it to 78F, and skies remained clear. Nice day in forecast for tomorrow. Today was cleaning lady day so KP duty prior to her arrival, 3 1/2 hours consulting, and cleaned up wood pile and insert.

Good morning, a wet start here after a good few hours of continuous rain, the sort that makes you want to pull the bed covers up tight when you wake up in the night. Would have sounded even better if we had a steel roof.

Drew good luck with the squirrels when they finally get around to your new plantings. I have been inundated with them this year, probably because the trees I put in when I first came here have reached the right height for them to now live in. My right shoulder is still slightly bruised from bringing drays down from the treetops on Monday.

Kyle, the aqueduct is far enough away that we don't need to worry about it springing a leak - google says it's 23 miles to the west.

a warm 47 going up to 70 today, love that warm air from the South. Turning cooler and wetter later this week.
I should take advantage of the nice weather today, pretty sure I'll be working on machinery down at the barn.
More leg cramps last night, need to buy some potassium tablets this morning and try to stay off my feet. Which usually
is a silly idea because I never do...

four attempts to log into Wunderground with two browsers failed this morning. "a program is slowing your browser" error alerts, and would not load. I've had lots of problems with that site recently.

Decided over the weekend to quit the local country club. It wasn't very expensive but I wasn't meeting who I wanted to and since I don't golf, boat or play tennis any more, not much to keep me there. Certainly not the expensive drinks...

Might get in the mood and shave off my beard, when it starts getting warmer and I start to sweat, off it comes. I get to do what any woman would kill to do, lose ten years of appearance in ten minutes, and I get to do it every year! The beard is white and makes me look much older; doesn't matter to me, keeps me warm.

Happy February everyone.
