Found a stain on the bedroom closet ceiling...can't figure where the roof is leaking...definitely not right over the closet...must be running down from another place...tough puzzle. Wonder how the experts figure this out.

I'm no expert, but last time I had that problem I had to go up into the attic and push the insulation away from the spot on the drywall ceiling that had the stain. I poked a piece of coat hanger wire up through the stain to make it easier to find. Then I looked up onto the underside of the roof and found a tube from the air conditioning unit that had green corrosion stains. It was the drain line for the A/C unit. It wasn't leaking, but it got cool enough for water to condense onto it and drip onto the ceiling. I insulated it to stop the condensation and that took care of the problem. But that particular spot in the attic was a bear to get to; had to belly crawl through piles of insulation while avoiding a trip through the ceiling! Hope you have better luck!

the primary air filter for my Kubota cost me 70 bucks yesterday. The inner filter wasn't much cheaper. Wowsa.
Once a year, tolerable but still I find Kubota's filter pricing almost silly. I looked at the filter and said 20 bucks max, maybe 30 since
it was heavy duty and the next size larger than what a lot of us run in small diesels and zero turns with cartridge filters.
Sure am going to write that part number down and see if I can cross it. Tractor's out of warranty so...

I feel your pain, Drew. Usta be a fella back east selling discounted Kubota parts over the Internet, but Kubota found out about it and shut him down by threatening his supplier. Most if not all of Kubota's filters are proprietary, meaning they don't fit anything else, but if you do find a cross, I'd sure be interested in how you did it!

I just wish the only one they have was not fire engine red. I would like it to be white. Not into flashy colors. Wife does not like color either, it clashes with the house.

Most dealers are happy to order in a car that is more to your liking, or swap inventory with other dealers to get it. It costs them very little, but if the Prius is a desirable car with low inventories, you might be asked to pay extra. If there are other dealers in your area, you could shop around, or even call others from farther away. Then don't be afraid to literally walk away from the current dealer; sometimes it takes that to get them to deal.

Good Morning! 65F @ 6:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 88F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

We'll have a cooling trend through the weekend, but warming up again next week. Highs will still stay below 100F, not much of a sign that fall is coming, but good enough for now.

Got all the door jams sanded on the van yesterday, but before I could get to the doors my bulldozer buddy/neighbor came over to check on progress. Just when you think you might have troubles, someone else comes along with some that make yours look like a walk in the park. Last year he bought the ex-wife's half of his neighbor's house. Her ex-husband is a thief that was caught stealing a car and is now in prison. But just before that he sold his half of the house to someone else, then leased it to another person. Oh my, but that's illegal! Well, when they caught him stealing the car, a search warrant turned up a meth lab in the bathroom, and a house full of renters that also had warrants. Anyway, after nearly a year, my buddy finally has all the tenants evicted, and a court date where the judge will hopefully decide a fair value on the house so my friend can purchase the other half. The current owner purchased his half for $14K, but wants $100K, hence the legal action. It'll be great to see the place cleaned up and rid of all the bad actors, who made a regular practice of terrorizing the neighborhood: burglaries, drug dealing, assaults, etc. Talk about an unsung hero; my neighbor is surely one!

Uneventful trip to town yesterday, but I forgot to get sugar for the hummers. They're not gonna be happy when it runs out over the weekend (I'll be on another trip), and even less happy when I get home and can't fill 'em back up again...

Happy Hump Day everyone!

I have a neighbor that's thinking of buying a Prius for his 600 mile weekly round trips, I tried to tell him that hybrids have no real advantage over high MPG gas and diesels on long distance open road trips, For what he does a diesel would be better. But he's bought the hype.
Pretty day after a very foggy start, high in the upper 80's, nice cooling trend for the weekend. Got to work on my hitch.

actually I lowballed the filter price, found the slip, 127 dollars for inner and outer air filter.

70 this morning and headed to 88 today.

Go take care of chickens then make some repairs to the disc mower. Hopefully I'll start cutting hay today.
Need to go through the shotgun sometime today. Dove season opens tomorrow and my semi-automatic is currently a single shot. Bolt locks back after every round and it's a combination to get it closed. Bolt release button doesn't close bolt. Press release, manually push up lever that places shell in chamber(this closes bolt), then bolt release again to drop it back down. Sorry I don't know all the terms. Hopefully it's just dirty and dry as it hasn't had a box of shells through it in the last 8 years.

Drew. Nice find. Those are tough tractors. And that makes decisions harder. Good luck.

Wngsprd. The garden hose usually works for us. One person on roof with hose. One in attic watching for water drips. Sometimes can take a while though.

Good morning all. Still in Montana and 45 degrees and clear. Headed back home to OK next week for a week or two for tractor time.

I was wondering and wanted to pick your brains. I'm thinking of getting another tractor(and so it begins) to go along with my Kubota.
I plan it sharing and pulling a 5 ft rotary cutter, 4 ft finish mower, 6 ft Flail, and a small trailer for fire wood. About the same size dimensionally and approx hp as my 3301.
It can't be a row crop trycycle since I live on sloped land. (I had an old Farmall H long ago) It'll need to not have a real high COG.

I've had an Ford N in the past and it was good but it seems like I read here there was a better one (Ford 800 maybe?) The Fergusons TO30s?
And I've heard good about MF (65,165s?) but never been around them.
Can you guys recommend good valued small tractors 2wd no loader but yes to 3pt just to putz around with so I know what to watch for? Some work needed is fine and ugly is great too.
Not the little Mitsubishis or Yanmars though. Maybe another Kubota older but all those seem to be high for resale around where I look.

Remington 1100? I have 3 of them.

They are sensitive to getting dirty. Give it a thorough cleaning and you should be good to go.

Thanks Don, interesting that you say this now, there is a 2016 prius v setting it the drive right now. They let me drive it home to see how it works. Trying to deside if we want the regular pruis or the larger prius V. The larger one only gets a combined gas millage of 42 but the pruis gets 50 or a little over. going in today and check it out. 0% financing through monday so will likely do something soon. Ed

Hey Ed. We got the regular Prius in 2005, and loved it. Last year Margie got the smaller 2015 Prius C, and don't like it as much. I think it is aimed more at first time buyers, as it was very cheap. But it lacks several small touches like cruise control and an armrest. We did look at the bigger one. It is a fine vehicle, but she likes small cars. With the price of gas so low, I would decide on your needs for space, not the fuel mileage.

Hope this helps,

Larro

Good Morning. 1105, mostly cloudy, 81F with 81% humidity. Forecast high of 88F with 50% chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon, and a low of 74F tonight. Looks like we will get a fair amount of rain from this tropical system over the next few days.

Just got a call from Margie. One of yesterday's races is withing the .5% mark that triggers an automatic recount. {.22% is the margin right now. This is for a 20 county state representative district} The recount will happen on Saturday. Not that big a deal, but two of her cousins and their mom are coming up to stay a few days. {I'm doing house guest type cleaning this morning. Washing clean sheets and towels} She also had to stop the Judge just before he got on his plane to the Caribbean. The Judge is on the Canvasing Board, so he had to appoint someone to take his place.

But Larro, have they counted their chads right this time???? :D
Florida won't live that down for awhile.

found some tent caterpillars in an old pear tree; going to spray that this afternoon with the orchard sprayer. Sure don't want those things moving around.

Hey now, don't be talking bad about our icons. Their counting ability {along with some help from the Supreme Court} did save us from President Gore.

Ed, wait for a charcoal gray Prius. After driving a summer in a white pickup in the glaring Texas sun I will never buy a white vehicle with a hood that blinds me. You might not have that problem up North or if the hood slopes down enough.
