63 right now, with a bit of misty rain (per the report...haven't been out yet). A pleasant 70 today and no rain.

Pretty good weekend...got all my chores done Saturday and a bit or work related stuff done Sunday.

Drew, the two worst animals in the southeast to hit are hogs and bears. They'll tear the whole bottom out, it's like running over a set of cement steps!
I fear you're getting into what I was worried about when you bought the Jaguar, never ending electrical and minor niggling issues. In those years, the Jags and Mercedes were notorious for that. I hope not, very cool car!

Randy, there is another major plus point for Jaguars. As well as travelling in luxury, they are extremely sociable cars. Just look at all those nice vehicle repair people Drew has now met, who will remain total strangers to most Honda owners :)

Good morning. A dull day with some rain coming, but I don't mind as I'm stuck inside anyway for most of the week - decorating our snug. At the moment it is all (best look away for the next word Drew) bare plaster, with one wall having major efflorescence issues, where salts keep leaching out from the old brick internal wall behind.

My wife likes books, lots of books. Most novels get passed on to friends, or a charity shop, with the rest being stacked up for the last few years in cardboard boxes. I intended one day to make some bookcases, however something else always needs to be done, so when a couple of local joiners opened a small shop to display their talents, I couldn't really object when my wife wanted to give them some trade. They are delivering on Friday, so I better get on with some painting.

Drew, good to hear that you didn't get hurt. A bear through the windscreen at 50mph could have given you more than a stiff neck.
It doesn't seem that long ago that you were contemplating the best place to position a trail camera to take a bear pic ....

73 going up to 86 today, cooler this week before it heats up again. Will be so nice to have nights in the 60's again.
That night storm rumbled through here last night too, lots of lightning and some wind. .06 rain, not much. Lots of sticks to pick up I'm sure.

off this morning with truck to body shop for estimate. Hopefully it will not make strange noises while driving. The car is sitting in the garage looking like a low rider; it's air suspension unhappy; that goes into shop tomorrow. I have studied every part of the air suspension system, there are somewhat normal age issues it seems...likely the air compressor. Or a ride height sensor. Or a ... But I knew when I bought the car that every part in that suspension would need replacing at some point; for sure a when and not if. And I must say the import car repair place is staffed with such nice people, and they do take my money with a smile...

Then some foodshopping and return home to mow the two front lawns. Will do the rest tomorrow. If I only do a few hours a day, hopefully my right wrist won't swell up again. I really enjoy mowing but just can't do it six hours at a time any more.

David, that pic should be in the Case IH catalog. Buy our tractor, immediately be transported to Paradise.
Nice mow job too.

Good morning! Not usually up at this early hour, but nature called! 63 deg now with forecast for sunny with
temperature in the mid 70's today. We had 1.3 inches of rain overnight, which should put a small dent in
the drought-stricken Southern New Hampshire area.

Speaking of bears and game cameras, I check my game camera yesterday which is mounted on the south
side of the house. I hadn't checked it for over a week.

Hope everyone has a good day. Now, back to bed!

Good morning all, 64 here this morning going ti 81. Sounds like a nice day for a change. High Friday back up to 90. Wife's nephew came over with a friend to swim. they were having fun and we asked our family member with autism if he wanted to go swimming and he showed us he did. We carefully walked him into the pool and we stood there for a bit then my wife picked him up and held him in the water and bounced him up and down in the water for a long while. He was so happy and to him it was great fun. After about 15 min he was done and we came in and dried him off and he wanted to lay down for a while. He is 48 and it was the first time in his life that he went swimming. That made it a GREAT day.

Drew Glad you are OK and hope you don't have to hitch hike to long. :( I hit a deer with my 01 Dodge at 55 mph and the bumper shifted only very slightly, deer did not make out very well. Does your insurance cover a rental car?

Eric They tried to get my dad to paint the windows at church. He asked for a 4" brush and said he just started with the glass and then moved to the wood. They got someone else to paint the windows.:)

Have a great day all, I am off to buy some swimming trunks for our new swimmer today. Ed

63 this morning high of 84 down in the 50s tonight great weather for a few days before heat comes back for weekend. I'm afraid this hot pattern will not let go until October. Drew good luck on repair of truck and the Jag suspension

looking at those bear pics makes me understand why so much damage.
big animals...
The truck still has a big old fashioned chrome bumper and it bunted whatever I hit off to the right.
Did not run over the animal; no marks on skid plates underneath.
here's a pic of me pulling the bumper forward so I could get tire clearance. Yeah for tractors.
And that little Warn winch with 1000 pounds of pull power did just fine; hooked it up backwards because didn't want to be
anywhere near that bumper when I pulled on it. Didn't know about pressurized bumper shocks, lots of stuff that can go bang in newer
vehicles.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 53° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 75° with mostly sunny skies. Another .1" of rain fell yesterday evening. Off to get a MRI at local hospital today.
My neighbor has a couple of trail cams out. Coyotes and Fox are common. I have one (not sure witch breed) digging along my paver bricks. I fill in, couple days later it get to put it back.
Drew, good luck with vehicle repairs.
David S, great pictures. I must missed it. Thought you had a Kioti.
Eric, one of the best explanation of ownership of a exotic car.
TE, good shots of bear.
Good Morning All.

62 Yea! going to 84. Felt so good outside this morning. But super wet from dew and the little piece of the big storm we got yesterday afternoon.

Ed, yesterday's swim sounds like a special moment.

Drew, you are supposed to hunt bears in the daytime with a gun.

David, we all want to spend our hours mowing with that view. I think I'd run into things, not looking where I'm going.

Sodamo, nice pics. I was wondering how bad weeds are in Hawaii.....Beat back the bastages for another term.

Good morning all. School today for our kids. Not going smoothly for our Finnly. Her teacher we loved quit and took a better job in another school district. The new teacher we met last Thursday had her crying in tears in about 3 minutes. Not good. My wife's and my intuition is that she is a "tough love" type, (which we know another lady like this) and Finnly doesn't do well with her either.

Good morning! 72˚ and cloudy in central Texas with a 50% chance of rain this afternoon, high expected of only 85˚.

I Just looked at our forecast and 40% chance of Thunderstorms are expected Saturday during the Annual VFD Fish Fry. In the 30+ years it has never rained on the FF day. Since it is held in an open field we will have to come up with a plan on tent arrangement. In this community, every weekend day has an event and moving it to another day is not an option.

Drew in this area that looks like typical hog damage.
Sadamo, blue water, tall weeds and an attack tractor, life just does not get better.

56 this morning and headed to 81 today. Low humidity and it should be a very nice day.

Today's plans are just like Drew's. To mow. Hopefully not too wet. Along with taking care of birds and cows. Need to get in the habit of checking cows two or three times a day now. Calving season starts in 10 days.

Kyle. Good luck with the teacher. Sometimes the teachers just need an education too. A special needs child will give that to them faster than anything.

47 this morning (first morning back after nice camping trip). We came home yesterday in high winds (15-25, gusts to 45) and lots of smoke (3 new major wildfires in area). Had to keep house closed up to avoid getting smoke in, air seems clear this morning, might open things up for a bit and get some cooler air inside.
