Good morning!!!!

73 this morning and headed to 96 today. Currently 81.

Dad text last night. 98 bales rolled and still has windrows. Will be finishing up as soon as dew is off. Maybe 15-20 bales.

Finish a couple of odds and ins in chicken coops. Then get the heaters going. Well, maybe not. At 96 it's 4* hotter than where the chickens like it. May use attic heat to help preheat. Save some gas. Then finish hauling in hay. And get tarp on before rain gets in here tomorrow. Didn't get garden done yesterday so that will be on agenda today also.

Ron. Hope surgery goes well and have a speedy recovery.

Got to 92° yesterday, dew point went from 72 in the morning to 37 at 6 PM, feels chilly this morning at around 60°. Mid 70's for a couple of days, the wind is weirdly strong this year. More coming this weekend. We had 30+ mph gusts yesterday. Summer is normally in the doldrums here.
Drew, don't count the sharks out, we use to dive in that tea they call water near Elizabeth City, you could see about 3' near the surface, nothing beyond 1' at 10', we ran up on nurse sharks lying on the bottom two different times, one was a good 6 footer. When they're on the bottom they are sleeping and not dangerous unless you bother them, but who knows what time their alarm is set?

At 40 hours, I replaced the blades on my ZTR for the second time, they were really worn. They only last 20 hours out here. I wish I could find a blade that last longer. The ones I use have a special edge, "Fusion", which give me about 5 hours more use.

A hot week this week with the heat index reaching 110˚.

Don, I've had good service using Oregon "Gator" mulching blades on my JD Z820A.

Ron, good luck with your surgery. You're in our prayers for a quick and complete recovery.

Don, what are you driving on that gives you so many flats?
Boy I wish I could sharpen those blades for you. I really enjoy sharpening blades on a double stone grinding wheel, can get them razor sharp
or with a tougher edge. With no rocks here, but some sandy dust when dry, I go for the razor sharp. Sounds like lettuce getting sliced
when I go through a high patch.
Seems to be a tough environment there, really. Is your grass like field grass, abrasive and tough?

I just made reservations for several days midweek next week at an RV park on the Sound side of Emerald Isle. Got a water view slip, on the far left of this picture and I think I'll be looking out over a small airfield, so I can watch little planes land and take off. I find that entertaining...particularly when the field is angled way away from me...
I went swimming yesterday with those new goggles recommended and couldn't see my hand in the Pamlico River.
Won't be much different where I'm going, but maybe a little more diluted/clear. Not going swimming there; if we go, it will be over at the real beach not far away.
This place has a nice big pool and hopefully a great sunset view. And is very quiet, per most reviews. Like a marina with 95% year rounds and about 20 transient slips.
Will try to return with all my fingers and toes.

68°F and 1.04 inches rain last 24 hours, thankfully not until after mowing.

Be safe
Have a great day

63 windy and only hitting 81 and sunny today. Feels great outside. Ron, I'm with Eric, having my first cup for you...a fruity Ethiopian coffee. Hope all goes well and healing is fast. RS, flower bed looking really nice. David, I've had that same tire leak problem. Result has been good exercise for me with a bicycle pump.

Mine is carrying the pancake compressor to the appropriate location if not within hose length of the big one.

Looks like a pretty campground, great location. But be careful in the pool, if you ever saw Bond movies or the SYFY Network, you know pools can have sharks, too!

68F and very sunny @ 13:00 ... high today 77F.

Went back up to the shop last night to work on soil screen frame, didn't hit the rack until after 03:00 ... so bit of a late start today.

Still need to fill bird feeders so that will be the first order of business today.

Beyond that not sure.

On a positive note, this morning Finch was transferred into the custody of Ohio Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and is presently residing at the Lorain Correctional Facility ... possibly for some time to come.

TA DA!
Successful morning, Cub Cadet choke shafts swapped out, everything now lined up, put it all back together and vroommm. The paint job on the hood and the condition of the dash are just awful, but looks ok from say 15 feet back...;) Most of the nastiness predated me, and whenever I get the steering wheel off finally, I can make the dash look a lot better. Terrible problem with decal, what a mess, bought it four years ago and I think it dried out some, didn't stick well, made a real mess of it. And worse, when the sun hit it, it reflected shiny light in my face. Who designed this thing...
pics to follow, from at least ten feet away.

Beautiful day out today.

Good Morning! 78F @ 11:55AM. Abundant sunshine. High around 90F. Winds S at 10 to 20 mph.

Ron, hope you enjoyed those first few minutes after awaking from the anesthesia, that bit of dream world where nothing hurts but you know you made it through OK. Best wishes for a rapid recovery!

House guest motorcycle guru just left and what a round of testing we did. Were able to confirm 900W output from the 600W rated alternator, but the real surprise is 425W at just above idle, more than enough to handle all the usual electrical loads needed to keep the motorcycle running, and almost double the factory 240W alternator made at maximum RPM. That had been the criticism for the previous generation of this alternator, in that it didn't make enough power to start charging the battery until about 2500 RPM, and in town driving with lots of stop lights could lead to a flat battery.

A bit of single malt and a rack of baby backs nicely rounded out the evening... :licking:

Now back to the Vanagon for the rest of the day; just about ready to start welding the pop top roof on.

Happy Monday everyone!

Don, let us know ASAP, when you're out of recovery, Godspeed.

It's hot but I just drank 6 glasses of water so I'm reccovered and heading out again, replacing a thatch extension on the patio.

Oh wait, you mean Ron.

Hey Ron wake up, how did the surgery go?
