I need to call a trucking company to get a load of stone delivered to firm up the area between the barn and the new shed. I used to call mostly stone with a little dirt "dirty 3/8" or whatever but there are new names now. Buppies, what should I ask for? Eventually I will probably topcoat it with topsoil and plant grass but this winter, it will be a mucky mess back there if I don't put down stone now. Need smaller stone vs larger, easier to push wheeled equipment through.

40 this morning quite breezy and high of 48 later today. Clear sailing thru weekend so far
Drew in my neck of woods I would use 21A pug mill stone. If you want something that is cleaner use 57s good for concrete and less dirt

thanks. This is the place that's going to be delivering it. what about that "crush and run" stone? Or the number 67? This is pretty wet and muddy right now, need some larger stone first but i don't want the construction entrance stuff for sure.

It is called other names I will call quarry this morning and see if they know what it is called in your neck of the woods maybe birth crush and fun. 357s not to large may help stabilize sub grade. Number ones would be good as well but base ball size. Undercut your sub grade with tractor box blade perhaps down below surface 5in or so prior to adding stone

#5 stone first then crusher run which looks to be our 21A. If you send me area square feet I can tell you how much stone at what ever depth you chose

Good morning all. December seems to be carrying on where November left off, with more warm and wet windy days and nights.

Still really soggy out. Making ruts feeding hay already.

I'm getting that stuck in a winter rut feeling too, particularly when lifting out round bales. Keep expecting it will dry up soon and give chance to move a few to better ground, but each time I wait until the next day, it only seems to get wetter, so no option other than to make a bit of a mess. A good hard frost would be much appreciated.

I haven't a clue about disability rules and regulations. It did cross my mind that SS Disability could be a good name for a steam ship, but perhaps a little too flippant in the circumstances...

Thanks for your concern. I hear her in the bedroom now, coughing a good bit. If her cold runs a course like mine, it will be Sunday or Monday before she is well.
