Need to pour second cup of coffee. 41° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 62° with sunny skies (Lexington, TX.). Should be a good day for travel to txdon's place. Sure is wet around here. Got wet feet walking on the grass with shoes on.
Good Morning All.

61 now, slept late, going to 83. Grass is still green but only the rye is growing. Going to look at another horse this morning, this one locally. Then home to move animals around on pastures, which means running water lines and moving tanks, moving hay feeders, setting up bucket feeders.

Retireguy2, hire a lawyer.

Drew, good luck on the garland. If you know how to make it you are a big step ahead of me.

Farmer, Did you ever get that router? Grizzly has the PC ones on sale at a good price.

Good morning! Ron has already given the weather report for the area. It's looking like Fall as the trees turning various shades of yellow and brown. I'm still thinking of which project we will tackle when it gets a tad warmer today. I'll let Ron choose.

Good morning all, 28F here heading to 45F. Had yesterday off so wife and I went shopping and spent a butt load of money on Christmas presents and groceries. Back to work today to pay for it all.

38 this morning and headed to 48 today. Still really soggy out. Making ruts feeding hay already.

Need to go walk birds and then move some cows around. Putting heifers in with cows then going to dad's to get bull. We split bulls as we calve during different seasons. Will be turning bull out today when I get back.

Have an old Honda fourtrax 250. Would really like to get it running again but I think the ignition boxes are out of it. Does anyone know how to check these? It was running a week ago and then just refused to start one day fouling the plug and back firing.

Kev. No I never got that router. Took the wife in and showed her the Bosch at lowes. She wanted me to wait as I have a birthday and Christmas this month and am evidently very hard to buy for. Of which I must disagree. I have no trouble buying for me. :)! But I will take a look at the grizzly site. Thanks.

Good Morning! 46F @ 6:00AM. Cloudy skies. High 58F. Winds light and variable.

Possible showers later today, but more likely it'll all stay to the north. Better chance tomorrow afternoon, but the winds are supposed to pick up with gusts as high as 45MPH.

Time to bring another pallet of firewood into the garage before the next storm hits; this cool weather has stepped up my wood consumption. Still plenty on hand, but this fall is much colder than last year so far.

The water softener man is supposed to be out again today to once again repair his five year old installation. He knows what the problem is, just hasn't figured out how to fix it. This time he's replacing all the valves and electrical controller. If that doesn't do it, I think I'll have to shop for a new system somewhere else. Anyone out there using one of those saltless softening systems?

Some progress on the bike yesterday: Valve covers on, carbs and cables installed, fresh engine oil. But it looks like I need to swap out a part in the twist grip to get full opening of the carb butterfly, and the battery was dead when I checked it yesterday. It's on an Optimate charger now that's supposed to be able to work miracles, but I'm not holding my breath.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

42.8F and overcast @ 10:00 ...

Got last coat of black Flexi-Dip applied to back glass of the new aquarium yesterday. Got everything together for the Magnum 200 filter, filled it with bleach solution and ran it for several hours to clean out all the old crud in the hoses. Fixed the hose barb (deformed) on the canister head of the Magnum 330, need to assemble it and run the bleach solution thru to clean it out.

Only have a single set of feet for one of filters and since I can't locate my hang-on-back bracket I decided I'm going to make some way to mount the Magnum 200 on the back of the aquarium stand ... maybe a capped piece of 8" PVC that it can just sit down inside of. That should make it easy to remove (short hose runs) for maintenance. Need to make up another carrying strap as well, since I can only find one of those.

Also need to cut a piece of 2 x 4 and then stain it for a cross-brace for the top of the stand and cut a couple of pieces of 3/4" styro for the aquariums to sit on.

Just called North Hill Glass to see if the piece of glass I ordered (and paid for) last week to brace the old 55g ever came in. It won't be in until the 8th :(

Apparently the goofball who waited on me when I went in misunderstood what it was that I really needed and wanted ... and that was after I walked back in - after paying for it - and explained that I really wasn't sure what "polished edges" meant in terms of glass, but that all that I really needed was for the edges not to be sharp.

Girl I talked to today explained that because it was spec'd as "polished edges" it had be sent out to be ground, which added time ...

The thing that I find most irritating is that the bozo that took my order (and my money) seemed, at the time, rather annoyed by having to wait on me and take my order ... and it wasn't like there was a line of 10 customers behind me that had to be taken care of. Perhaps because it wasn't a piece of glass for a window ...

Left The Little Squeak out last night ... she behaved herself and went to bed when we did, and didn't end up crawling all over us. Probably be doing another treatment for ear mites if The Woman makes it home at a reasonable hour.

Mike is supposed to slide by sometime today and pick up the 1/2" air impact for a repair he's doing on one of his vehicles. Might see if I can persuade him into helping me move that new 55g up from the basement :D

Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive day.

Mushy around here too...soggy, whatever term you want. David/Sodamo, be careful of those mosquitos: More than 100 cases of dengue fever on Hawaii's Big Island, CDC joins investigation - CNN.com

Thanks, Drew, we are.
Fortunately, not that many here around the homestead. Of course, it only takes 1.

Wife and I have to chuckle listening to the mitigation suggestions. Around here I'd never get all the standing water dried up before it refilled.
