69F @ 4:00AM. Sunny today. High 93F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Looks like a cooling trend will take high temps into the 80s through the new week, but the heat comes back the week after.

The week after the July 4th holiday seems popular for vacations. Hope everyone enjoys a little R & R.

Drew, hope it's nothing serious, and yes, sometimes we have to waste time at the doctor's office to find out for sure. If you can even get in for an appointment. Usually they just tell you to go to the emergency room at the friendly local hospital.

Eric, I remember fighting with the ants for apples from my grandma's tree when I was a child. Unfortunately I think they like them as much as we do.

Looks like I'll need to sand out a couple of runs in yesterdays paint job, but that's par for the course with white paint. Very hard to see how much is going on, even in good light. The trick will be not to sand through the color; I don't have any more of that paint! But I do have lots of left over black for some reason, and now the rest of the machine is looking rougher than ever. How's a domino paint job sound?

Happy Monday...

Drew, Txdon has some marvelous healing powers, however they may be limited to hands on with old tractors, not sure how effective through the TBN ether for older tractor drivers. :)

It only works when things are stuck, so unless it constipation, its out of my area of speciality.

Good morning! partly cloudy 77˚ heading into the 90s - I'm sounding like a broken record - hmmm, what is the equivalent in this digital world?

no appendix issue, going back this afternoon for gall bladder ultrasound.
Still likely a muscle strain but ultrasounds are no big deal.
well that means an inside day, so time to work on paperwork.
I walked in without an appt at 8am and was seen at 8:15am. marvelous

Good Morning. 0755, mostly cloudy, 73F with 96% humidity. Forecast high of 88F with 20% chance of rain today, and a low of 72F tonight.

Late night trying to watch rain delayed race, and listen to last Grateful Dead concert. I didn't make it to the end of either one. I'm watching the end of the race this morning, and the concert replay is at 1300 on SXM Radio, so I record it then. I need to check on garden. It might be too wet to do the hoeing and plowing I need to do. If so, I can always cut grass. But it would just need doing again in a few days, so what's the point?

Drew, I'll relate a story about Mamma's best friend. Her husband persisted in his go-cart racing well into his 60's. He was laid up on the couch for a couple of days after a nasty wreck, and she was tired of hearing his moans and groans. She told him she knew just what would make it feel better. He perked up and ask what. "Just go out to your shop and get some axle grease off your go-cart and rub it on your hurt places," was her reply. He didn't try it, but he stopped moaning and groaning. Knowing how clean you keep your tractor, this might not work for you though:D

You guys have a good one,

Larro

First cup (only cup) of java down.
Mowed in laws yard last night. His Snapper RER broke another steering tie rod ( I fixed the other one last September or so). The grass was high because of all the rain and his new job.
After I finished, we went by J. Deere and looked for used riders but they are out. They had a new D130 that I see has 4 stars of reviews at Lowe's website. It costs $1899. I think we should just fix the snapper.

80 this morning and headed to 90 today. Chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Was on the beach yesterday afternoon only to be chased in by a thunderstorm that lasted till midnight. Nice white sand. Cool on feet. Lots of sea turtle nests. They are all roped off.

Need to call insurance company today. Seems we had a rock chip in the top of the windshield we didn't know about. Came back from beach and a crack half way down passenger side. Single crack fairly straight too. Guess the heat don't know.

Drew. Get to feeling better.

Drew, go to the doctor.
I will, though upon reflection, I picked up some seriously heavy packing boxes in the barn yesterday trying to get stuff put away, and wonder if I pulled a muscle.
this just wastes an entire day...
more later, let's not waste bandwidth on this.
It's worth wasting bandwidth. To often as we get older a pain will occur because of something we didn't notice we did, then we will worry ourselves to death about it.
Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS) is important fur us older guys also.

Vacation over, back to Cottage remodel, start the drywall today.
Got some mowing in yesterday.
Be safe
Have a great day

Drew, Just a thought, but you said moving boxes. I didn't get my first hernia till I was 54, the 2nd one at 58. Both required surgery and not to be messed with.

Well made it here to Walnut Creek at noon. We have fallen in love with WV and now I am going to go play tourist with my wife before we join our Amish driving instructors for dinner.

I am glad you are enjoying FL Farmer, I am glad to be gone for a week.

81F and partly sunny @ 13:00 ... headed up to 83F with the possibility of some rain, although the dividing line is said to be I-77. We're west of it, but not that far west.

Wife got 95% of the front mowed yesterday with the Kubota, but not picked up.

I got the last of the big sycamore logs cut into rounds after I fixed the pull cord on the chainsaw. Also got the ferrous portions of the pump/wheel motors for the Simplicity coated with phosphoric acid, the tube for the hydraulic cylinder on the logsplitter sanded in preparation for repainting it and the clevis removed from the rod.

The boot for the Trac Vac is well on its way to being repaired - cut the round tube off it and straightened out the rest. Getting the round tube where the hose attaches straightened out will be a challenge - it was pretty mashed up.

Wife found someone on craigslist who had the two plates (one for cutting, the other for mulching) and a discharge chute for a Lawnboy deck ... the ad was about a week old and by the time we emailed him he only had one plate (the cutting plate) left ... fortunately that's the one we needed. Hafta see if we can get up there today and pick it up.

Checked the bluebird box yesterday - have at least two juveniles in it that look to be about ready to fledge.

Best to all who are enjoying their vacations and taking what is probably a well-deserved rest.

a pleasant medical experience today, helps the hospital was pretty quiet.
Went to the immediate care place first, specifically because probably the best GP in the area works there, she did 20+ years in ICU at the hospital 500 feet away. She remembered me completely, asked how the orchard was, and then proceeded to instruct me on the placement of various organs, and no, my appendix was not in that area. But my gall bladder was right under where it hurt. So a comprehensive ultrasound this afternoon I believe found nothing, which is good. So if nothing found, though of course there are many diseases of the gall bladder that an ultrasound just isn't designed to detect, then I'm betting on the muscle strain.
regardless, the show goes on, and so does my boat survey tomorrow. Need to keep my priorities straight here. Boat first. ;)

what I did find interesting is the ultrasound tech told me I was the fourth person over the holiday weekend to come in complaining about pains in the gall bladder area. Meats and rich food for sure do not help. He said the trigger can be a specific thing eaten, or just the time the whole organ says I've had enough and starts talking to you.
I'm betting on the muscle strain. So many parts of my body hurt fairly continuously that another little one just gets tacked on to the back of the train. No whining and keep on trucking.

Was supposed to mow this afternoon, but thought I should just cool it and see if doing nothing works.
Often does.
Just ask a Washington bureaucrat...

not only RS are you a man of many talents but you have trained your better half
seemingly so well. Or is it the other way around...;)

here's to all wives who want to mow the lawn. God bless them.

Drew, My Dad just today got the results from his ultrasound of his gall bladder area pain, right side right under the ribs. It is not his gall bladder. He does remember it kind of started hurting a bit after he used a steel fence post stomper as a leveraging bar to remove the flat on his truck . . . . but now the Dr. wants to do a MRI.

Hmmm. Either KevT has been lost since somewhere in Georgia or we have him at the wrong Walnut Creek. He seems to be in WV where there is also Walnut Creek, of course. Sorry about that. :) Just as well, Wilmot, OH used to be a speed trap.

Drew, glad your aches don't seem to be serious. Always pays to find out. Here are some tips on boat docking for your sea trial tomorrow.
This is probably the slickest boat docking you?ll ever see ? Outdoors ? Bangor Daily News ? BDN Maine

I picked rocks until 1pm, then had a snack followed by a nice nap. Glad I got out early because it was a warm, muggy day with no breeze. Need to make a diesel run this evening.
