Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing Sunday. Weatherman said temps would rise to Upper 50's to 60. Glad I didn't pay attention to him and cleaned up the ice and slush on the driveway. Temp 33 now near freezing all day tomorrow my hill would have been all ice if I left cleanup to "warm" weather.

26F & freezing fog all afternoon. Never did rain and I don't think it will. I cleared the driveway this morning which turned out to be a good guess.

This coming week is looking danged cold. We have a wind chill advisory for Monday overnight . Single digit negative temps and strong winds.

It's been piled for two years. We cleared this land three winters ago now. It's started to rot but it's to the point that it now breaks so I'm able to get piles tight enough to burn now.

Have three more to burn. Started with 7.

Hard work pays off over time. Laziness pays off right now!! :)

( I figure you have a real need to burn, I am just pulling your leg ) :)

If you think elm is fun to split try some gum. Some hickory splits nice some not. If it splits with a 5ton splitter it should pop real nice with an axe.

I dunno why anyone would wanna use a splitter on mesquite ... no real need to split twigs - they're already just kindling ...

Probably tied into them big belt buckles somehow ...

Good afternoon all. 30F this morning overcast winds from north up to 30 mph. Snow flurries with no accumulation most of the day now down to 18F. Forecast is low is 14F and I think that is optimistic. The 10 day outlook is for at 10-25* below normal. New battery in the Saturn is working well. Church, lunch and fire on the agenda today with some football. Motorcycle shop was nice, wife was taken with the Can-Am 3 wheelers, was taken aback with the price (25K). There were not many just plain motorcycle there, plenty of cafe racers, cruisers, and full boat touring bikes.

Drew, just one non-local ride this year, Bike across Kansas (525 m). Most miles are local 1 or 2 hour rides, most of the longer rides on the Katy trail or the Great River Road.

Ron when I think I am cold, I just have to read your WX, and be thankful I am not in Wisconsin :)

Maclawn happy belated birthday!! :drink:

Good Evening. 1805, overcast, 61F with 100% humidity. Our high was 73F this afternoon, and a forecast low of 44F with 30% chance of rain tonight. It rained off and on most of the day, but only had about an inch and a quarter. There was a little thunder and wind early, but it didn't amount to much.

I just now turned on a computer for the first time today. I've been reading westerns and just never got around to it at work today. I have the game on now, but the couch and another book is calling my name.

Happy Birthday McLawn.

I woke up and thought I'd been transported to Larro's back yard...68 degrees going up to 75 today.
Rain likely, thunderstorms at times. Another inside day.

Drew I didn't take a picture of my back yard this morning, but here is the front yard. The standing water you see is due to a few loads of dirt I brought in to smooth out all the deep ruts from when the house was built. With all the sand everywhere else, it could rain an inch an hour, and there wouldn't be a mud puddle.

These were about 10" diameter - yep, twigs for Texas too, but just a tad too fat to get through the stove door.

Since I have a larger WBS I cut the logs about 20" if they were shorter an axe would do.

Moon is out wind I'd howling but still in 50s. By Wednesday that will just be a memory with highs in the mid 20s. Holidays are over now work begins again, how many more years Lord only knows.

54 here right now, but wind is really picking up and the bottom is going to drop out.

House 1/2 mile behind me burned last night. I never heard the fire trucks, but my youngest said he did. Everyone got out safe, but the house is all gone.

Did you hear how it started?

Wednesday night is also our coldest forecast but not that cold. Only 2-3 above. But bitter cold for us.
