Thanks boys for the birthday wishes. Now, back to our regularly scheduled program: rain. mist. fog. more rain. Oh me, this is getting to me. "Rainy night in Georgia. Rainy night in Georgia." Sing it Lou. We need someone to sing for us here.

MacLawn, Happy Belated Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wngsprd, Seafoam will be your friend after you use it one time.
Drew, we use Deer-Away Deer Repellent. Works well to keep deer out of the flowers and Mulberry trees.
Good Morning All.

About 45 outside, with a cloudy sky slight breeze and the thermo expected to hit mid 60's today. Then some colder air moving in. I'll take the day and go try and get some electric in the electric fence. Then............football and beer. LOL

47 this morning and temperature falls all day. Managed to keep brush pile burning through all the rain yesterday. Last night at dark it was showing progress. Will need to go tighten it up here in a bit. Really need to run back to bass pro shops and return a scope but it's 2 hours one way not really looking forward to it.

38F here and rain, dropping to 30F this afternoon and then really dropping temperature overnight.

61°F and only .01 inches rain last 24 hours. A nice calm morning compared to yesterday's bluster. Winds hit 38mph here at house according to my wx station. Lots of damage and power outages that lasted thru the day. Glad we are off grid.

No big plans for the day. Maybe cut out a new base for my golf cart seat, watch football.

Be safe
Have a good day.

Good morning! 45˚ sunny, windy from the North. My wood burning stove has been going continuously all year. The below freezing temps hit tonight so I need to find a dead oak tree to cut up. I used my little $99 electric wood splitter last night and it popped everything I threw at it. I cannot figure out why a larger one would ever be needed.

I've had hardwood, oak and elm, that didn't want to be split with a 32 ton outfit. You guys got wimpy trees down there!! :)

If you think elm is fun to split try some gum. Some hickory splits nice some not. If it splits with a 5ton splitter it should pop real nice with an axe.

You get some tree rounds or trunks in there, they last quite awhile. I don't burn much, I just pile it up out back, let it rot. Less work, and being lazy isn't a sin. At least around here....:)

It's been piled for two years. We cleared this land three winters ago now. It's started to rot but it's to the point that it now breaks so I'm able to get piles tight enough to burn now.

Have three more to burn. Started with 7.
