Good morning all, just paid my Consumers Energy bill online and it appears the mild weather so far this winter has given homeowners in mid-Michigan a break on their heating bills. Just finished preparing a crock pot meal of corned beef and cabbage that will be done about 3 pm, I have a 6 pack of premium beer to wash it down with and am already anticipating the meal. Today I am making another trip to the local recycling center and take my old electronics to the Goodwill store. One of them is my '93 vintage Sony cabinet style 32" tv set. Back then it was one of the best tv sets you could buy but it cost $1200 and today you can buy a 32" Toshiba LCD with picture quality that is far superior for $250. Makes me wonder. :laughing:

Good Morning! 29˚ partly cloudy in central TX. Looks like it's cold all over - well, except for the Big Island. WB stove glowing behind me - toasty.

I went to a conference with Dr. T. Collin Campbell and Dr. Michael Greger over the weekend for the latest information on nutrition. I'm on track with my heart diet and even found ways to tweak it a bit. A lot of people are having good results, good to hear.

They had a 5K run and usually I come in first or second in my age group around here but this weekend I was racing fellow plant based runners. I was 8th overall but 6th in the above 50 age group, those old guys are fast.

The Run T-Shirt was a tractor on the front with the words "Get Healthy", - they even got the color right!

Actually weighed only about 170 pounds the helper at Goodwill and I slid it out of the back of the GMC the long way (notice the rug padding under the TV) and set it down on the ground. I used to handle freight for a living and the policy was:

Never carry what you can roll. Never lift when you can use a slope or a slide of some type. I recently moved a 3 cubic foot fire safe out of my basement by simply rolling it up the steps and the guy that was watching me said "I would never have thought of doing it that way".

Dinner is ready at 4 pm, any and all you guys are welcome to come and partake. :laughing: But you have to be here no later than 4:30 pm Michigan time. Fair enough?
