Good Evening Randy,
Whilst 'in town' I also picked up a newly delivered "Nespresso" order from the PO.
Just curious about the Nespresso , I see it advertised with George Clooney ! Have you tried it and if so what do you think ? Is it anything like Keurig ? Thanks for any input ! 🙏

Yes congratulations M7040! What's your secret? If you gave advice to a young couple, what would it be?
My wife & I have been together 52 years and our anniversary is in 3 weeks. We've always had each other's best interest at heart. I think marriage would be an interesting topic of discussion.
Just last week we had a family member marry finally at 44 years old, wife 40. They had this elaborate wedding but something just didn't seem right.

G'day Scotty!
I've had a Nespresso for approximately the past 18 years... I'm 'on' my second machine, not because the first one broke but because technology advanced.

The 'original' (which they still make) uses smaller 'pods'. 2 pods would produce a mug of coffee. The new machine uses different sized, larger diameter, pods that incorporate a bar-code that the machine reads IOT produce the required amount of pressurised water for the size/'intensity' (espresso/cup/mug)

My Aunt (Canada) has a "Keurig", so I've been able to experience one of them. It's 'OK' and the pods for it looked to be readily available. I've not seen a "Keurig" here in Aus and I certainly haven't seen any of their pods in my local grocery store.

I'm very pleased with my Nespresso system, especially that they deliver (promptly, I will add) within days of my order. Nespresso have their own shops in the major cities where you can try out the various machines. Here in Tasmania, they sell the machines at a major retailer ("Harvey Norman") where you can also try the machine out.

Hope this answers your question Mate.

Keurig is not bad but it doesn't compare with Dark French Roast on Turkish grind done in a French press.
My work has a Keurig machine, I've had a couple of cups and decided that I would wait until I got home.

Drew, I'm happy to see you made it home without major incident.

so nice to be home
lovely fall leaves out but I didn't remember 81 being so rough in PA. It needs to be totally redone.
next time I'll take the turnpike, actually smoother
took a few things out of rv but going to lay down for a bit, then take a long hot shower.
very pleasant 68 out and sunny, but very dry, will probably be watering later.
Sometimes the best part of a trip is getting back home.

/ Good morning!!!! #198,468
Coffee is done brewing. 37° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 57° with rain in morning and cloudy afternoon. Got grocery shopping done. Then did some tree trimming. Hope to get windows washed after rain passes.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

/ Good morning!!!! #198,469
good morning all
seems strange to say that from here, looking at this giant screen on my desk instead of perched in front of a laptop in rv.
but very happy to be here.
coffee going down nicely

so much to do today, just going to pace myself. 39 going up to 67 today.
after running errands, home to keep unpacking rv.
then I need to winterize it, not hard to do, I did not blow out the lines last year using pink stuff and
that worked, but maybe I'll use the adapter I bought for my air compressor and give it a final blast of air.

I would love to go out and mow the lawn/suck up leaves, but so dry I think all I'd do is create dust and get filthy.
But no rain in ten day, what happened to our rain?
maybe this afternoon. Means putting leaf vac back on JD, makes a lot of noise but works beautifully.

in almost two months on the road, I did not get rained on once. Sprinkled once, but that's it.

lawn guys did a nice job on the garden shed foundation and I mailed them a check. Probably overpaid them at 1000 but
shed company wanted 1500 so these guys sure appreciate the work. Looks perfect, now to get the shed delivered, need to call Lapp Structures today
and get that scheduled. Might as well do it while it's dry out.

didn't sleep as well as hoped last night, back feels better but leg cramps from all that heavy traffic driving yesterday woke me up.
that should all go away now

I hope RNG and Buckeye are having a good trip.
Dennis, you put arguably the best tires on your trailer, all good. Flats can mess up your day.

Buppies, I hope you have a good day. At least all this sunshine is good for business.

/ Good morning!!!! #198,470

Enjoy your day all.

40 heading to 70 and sunny. October is typically the driest month unless a hurricane comes through, and my rain gauge agrees.

Congrats to your son, LS.

Don, sounds like you have quite the activity in your yard, at night, I presume. Yesterday, when I looked outside after it started getting light, there was a red fox curled up near my truck. Gone by the time I went outside to feed the birds a few minutes later. Trail cams have given us a peek into animal activity that we never knew was going on in our yard at night.

Split the magnolia wood I had cut, stacked it in the pallet, and brought the "leftovers" that wouldn't fit to the rack I had placed back onto the porch. Too windy to clean the chimney, so that's next.

/ Good morning!!!! #198,473
good morning, 39 going to 67 very dry around here and will be sunny day

Kids, grandkids, friends mostly all day here. Was a good day wife was happy

The GD that we picked up in our 70's when our daughter was in long term rehab is very close to us. She is now back after daughter has recovered. We could not imagine how we could possibly raise another child at our age but we did it. Everything was new for her since she had lived for the first few years of her life in a basement with her drug addicted parents and never been outside.
But it was the most wonderful experience to teach her, play with her and see her face when she experienced the normal things in life. Like first seeing the night sky with stars for instance was a wonder to her.

The two pictures below show her first when she lost her front teeth and then when she was so proud the first tooth tried to poke through

Morning all!
All this talk of ash and magnolia getting cut split and BURNED is making my heart ache!
32 going to a sunny 60 today.
Out for lunch with friends today who moved up into a retirement complex in NH.
Been spending most of my days fighting the falling leaves! Spent 6 hours yesterday on the vac, back pack blower and hand raking. Yard still looked covered after I finished! Can't wait for it all to be done. Pile is now bigger than my tractor!
Did get into the shop when the days were to windy.
IMG_9572.jpgcherryburlroyal ebony.jpgIMG_9620.jpgIMG_9621.jpgIMG_9630.jpg
The first two were harder to make. The last three were just little practice pieces. Tried some offset stuff for the covers. Also working on a bigger project in between.
Happy birthday and anniversary to all celebrating! Drew glad you made it home safe! Was fun following along.
That's it for now.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good morning TBN!
41 going to 75 today with plenty of sun.
Spent the morning so far reading the DIY forum for inspiration. Amazing what ya'll come up with and execute.
Waiting to hear if my sons car is finished to see if he is going to be here from Ohio today.
I am going to get diesel this morning and most of the day will be fiddle farting around.
Worked on cleaning up more downed debris and moved some more gravel around yesterday but otherwise pretty laid back.
Finish my coffee and away I go.
Have a great and safe day!!

35 outside right now, heading to 70. Looks like a nice day in shape setting the stage for a nicer weekend. The cool down looks to have started.

Don't like it dark in the morning. Like it less in the evening. Just like longer daylight days.

Road trip again this AM. Sigh, now I find out that my in-laws are having carpet come in next week. Which means we are tagged, once again to be there. And it appears the house has interest with the carpet that is already present. I hear contracts are in the works. This whole in-law thingy is so backasswards it's a full circle jerk. My BIL is coming up from FLA later today. He is going to freak out when he sees what "needs" to be moved back to FLA. I hope to be elsewhere when he sees his predicament. Last yard sale is this weekend, I have one bed a daughter wants to keep, so that goes south when we finally get out of the house.

Well, all this will pass....hopefully next week. My goodness, I just cannot get over how totally unprepared my in-laws are for this stage in their lives. It's selfish and just plain wrong to have put this on their kids and families. Just so wrong. It is a good lesson for me though, not putting my kids through something like this.

Enough rants. Enjoy the weekend, be safe. See you all next week sometime. Oh, I guess my neighbors 25 acres sold sometime in the last week. Saw some trac-cat like vehicle cleaning up the property and heard lots of chain saws. The acreage and a 2 bedroom house, close to 800k, if not over. Ouch.

Rip, travel safely.
as a retired financial planner, I can confirm that many folks have real problems dealing
with their last premises and their eventual demise, even getting a will and medical power of attorney is challenging.
but before the end, many of us will have extended need for assistance of some sort.
Ignoring that is pretty dumb unless you have a family property like Popgadget where your kids live there
also. He built his plan, pretty smart.

lot of what ifs like stroke, dementia and parkinson's
not making a plan and then being a serious burden on your kids and even their kids
is not good.
having too much money tied up in real estate later in life creates cash flow risk for survivors.
Security includes liquidity.
we all want to get to the point where we don't worry about money any more. Some have.
I expect to run out of time before savings. Not having kids makes this much simpler.

Good morning, the low is 37 and going to a high of 57°F. Wind SE 7 mph. Mostly cloudy with a few showers.

I've got three scripts that I need to renew today. I'm not out, but on the one I wont last another month.
The quack gave me 9 refills on all of them.

I have finally figured out the Ontario drug plan for seniors. I pay $100.oo in August and another $100.oo in February, after that it is $6.11 per script. (dispensing fee) I am going to try and work it out so that I only pay $100.oo per year. It all depends on the maximum number of goobers they are allowed to dispense at a time.

Today is another energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

Ahh...yes....sound reasoning.

My MIL went to talk with an Estate planner, yesterday.

From what I know, not from the planner, I told the in-laws YEARS ago to move assets around.

They never did, and now it is too late.

The person care they require NOW, is all out of pocket on THEM.

Guess who is bridging their bills?

There are some good threads on TBN with invaluable real-life advice. Personally, well right now, those threads are super important to me. Thank goodness for you all.
