Went to the cardiac surgeons office today, I was told that they would do the procedure, but my numbers indicate that there is no hurry. I have to get a cat scan and see a surgeon that will refuse me as a traditional surgery patient, then I can get scheduled.
Walking a lot without assistance, hopefully a week or so will get me free.
Weather is headed downhill today.
BEF, Keep up the good work. Prayers for all the kids with issues today.
Ron, I won’t sugar coat it, you have a long lonely walk, but you will come out the other side and smile and realize your life goes on. The hardest part for me was to understand that I didn’t have to be sad every day. Take your time, we are all different people. God bless you.
Randy,I would really encourage you to hold out for the TAVR because there is a limit to how many open hearts you can have. I've had 2 and now need a Mitral valve but they won't even consider it so I have to wait for the trans catheter procedure to be approved. I tried to talk my cardiologist into the TAVR when I had mine done in 2011 but he said it was too new and he didn't have connections with any of the hospitals doing it. I caved and went with the open heart, which was great, but they refused to do both valves at the same time and now I'm kind of in a spot. Hopefully your doctors will agree to the TAVR ,the procedure has come a long way since I needed it and it's usually just an overnight stay in the hospital.
Best wishes for a good outcome,I think about you often.
