Son texted me that he made it home. Little over 10 hours to make the 600+miles trip. He does not go to work until 5pm today. Been an interesting week with me caring for Son’s 9 month old Border Collie while he was in Washington state. Way too much dog for Sassy and me.

worked on the binding kitchen door. Sharpened a couple of chisels. Set the striker plate a little deeper and shaved off high spots. Rotated the hinge pins to a different wear side. They did not seam to worn however. But fixed and works good again

It sounds like our southern friends had some devastating floods! Prayers to all affected by all that rain !

Going for early morning walk and then some yard work I shoveled all those mushrooms into the wheel barrow yesterday and maybe a few more today ! I needed to do that to cut the lawn ! Hopefully cut it today !

nice hot shower and greeted by pool of water under toilet when I got out.
yet another failure of crappy oem plumbing. Sooner or later it will all leak the way an rv bounces around. When I get home I will find a plumber willing to rip it all out and put pex in. A small plumber...
thankfully lots of stuff on you tube. I am clearly not alone.
make it look nice new, I guess that's all that counts.

Good morning! 59˚F heading to the low 90s, clear skies variable wind.

Water temp in the afternoon is 82˚.

Good news Drew, I finally figured out how to turn the heater on in the spa/hot tub, the remote has a series of complicated menus. When the heater comes on the constant overflow is turned off so the whole pool does not have to get heated. Now I just need to figure the pre-heat lead time. I also have a DR. appointment the morning you arrive and hopefully he will release me to swim.

PT today, time to start really pushing it.

Good Morning to all who celebrate! Currently, 62 degrees heading to a high of 67 degrees with scattered showers. Allegedly we'll see the sun sometime this week.

The weekend went well, it was a little too damp to run the saws, so my buddy and I picked up a quarter of beef and had a good lunch at a little roadside diner.

Grandma and I made the long trip out west to see the promised child. He's cute as a button and allegedly very "chill" although I'm sure that's just a trap to con me into giving him a cousin at some point. Ignore my ugly mug and focus on the little guy. Grandma enjoyed the trip and I was glad for the company.

Plans for this week apart from the day job are mow the now out-of-control grass. Although compared to the South...I shouldn't complain.

I am apparently the world's worst host.

Had a houseful of friends/company which is a Fall tradition for us. Friends traveled long distances and brought gifts, food, wine, liquor, and more. And Rigby very much enjoyed playing with a dog one of them brought.

In return, I gave them all Covid. One day into their visit, I went from healthy to being knocked flat. So I only saw little of them. Fortunately everyone finished their long travels back home before they got hammered with the same illness I had.

Everyone got blindsided. I must have been exposed to Covid, somehow, just prior to their arrival. I still don't know how.

I was "down hard" for 2 days, then maybe another 2 days rebuilding normal vitality. Came to our CA property for a few days to do some work. And am feeling well enough to split and stack firewood today. But I still have friends who are bedridden and quite sick. Really nasty stuff. Nobody saw this coming.

But I did find a bird pix for Ron ...

I 40 washed away near the Smokies, and is closed near Mt Mitchell (from I 77 to Asheville). US 441 is closed, too.
