Out-of-town friends arrived yesterday. Will be here a few days. Had nice dinner meal except wife still under the weather and worn out from getting everything ready.

She should be better today since I woke up to find she gave it to me!!

Good Morning!!!! 53F @ 6:30AM. Areas of fog early, becoming sunny this afternoon. High near 80F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Once Drew gets out of Santa Cruz this morning, there's not much to slow him down. Looks like a busy afternoon tending to his MH, sure hope we don't run into any snags. FLAPS is just minutes away, just in case.

Nice weekend. Checked with one state park down on the coast, and the agent at the gate delighted in telling us that all campsites were full and had to be reserved months in advance. No such thing as walk up spots anymore. So we headed over to a county run site, only to find they had no electricity and they couldn't tell if they had an open spot or not. So we had a burger while we waited, and did get a site when we checked back, after they'd rigged up a generator so their computers would run. Nice long walk in the beach, sat in the sand watching the sun glitter off the waves. Cool breeze, perfect afternoon.

Got back to campsite and neighbor had a dead battery on his Jeep. His refrigerator had run it down flat. I went to jump him, only to find out I'd left my jumper cables at home after cleaning out the van for the camping trip. The next camper down, dressed in a dragon costume for some reason, had a set, so between the three of us we got the Jeep going again.

Enjoyed a camp fire burning some of my firewood, and friend had maybe a bit too much wine. Very upset stomach in the morning, almost wasn't quick enough with the bucket to catch a big mess. Felt much better after, but not great so we headed back. Unloaded the van and did some cleanup on the patio when I got home, just need to shuffle the car and a trailer to make room for Drew this afternoon. And maybe cut the grass.

After I posted this morning and had breakfast I laid down for a power nap. Got up at 09:45, still raining. Not showers either, real rain. Tractor got washed.
The cats are NOT happy. The two toms (brothers) go out every day and catch something to eat. Some times they share with each other, sometimes not. It all depends on how big the catch is and whether or not the other one is near.

David, the venting of the matching service is very important. In this case the ranch hand who orchestrated the failed kidnapping, which lead to the doctors death, would have passed the venting but the illegal alien brother who had felony warrants was not on the radar.

Would the matching service be liable for any elder abuse or worse? I hope the matching service would have a good liability insurance policy.

Thanks Don and I understand. But.. How would that any different from any other service we employ? The weedwhacker guy from the landscaper? The cleaning lady? Maybe even the PT person decides to make an extra special trip. Overall we tend to trust. As I said we need be aware and take precautions.

Would my suggestion significantly increase the chance of elder abuse? Maybe. Apparently there is plenty going on already, even in licensed facilities, but does that mean we should automatically rule out what may be a solution to a growing problem?

65°F and light rain this morning, got up to 75° today.

Rain! Glorious rain! Woke up Sunday morning to rain. Good, steady rain much of the day. Been raining much of the day as well today. Loving it.

New place is looking great, Paul.

Drew, we've been having some trouble with a neighbor here, too, and not the one to the south. On the other side is my Wife's cousin, with whom we've had an uncomfortable relationship for several years. He seems disinterested in not throwing grass into the pond and swale when he mows, despite us having asked on multiple occasions not to do it (RM43 is expensive). So, we decided to put up a fence along the property line on that side. It went up last week, and he lost his mind over it, sending text messages to her that only further demonstrated his childishness. Apparently, good fences don't always make good neighbors. Hope you have better luck with yours.

Just renewed registration on 3 vehicles, one I only did for 1 yr instead of 2, that kept the cost under $1K. Wow, didn't know MD had raised registration fees that high.

Need to make a decision about VA land. At this point I'm favoring just selling it. Maybe I'll wait till spring.

1k for registration?? That's insane. I thought $55 a pop was high.

Our realtor in VA emailed us today, that someone is interested in our lot, that’s not on the market..for a good bit over what we paid. We replied we may be interested.

Yes, we had talked to him awhile back about maybe selling, but the deal in WV fell thru, so that ended that at the time.
Unfortunately we still haven’t found anything we like better, but with a 2nd neighbor now being an issue, maybe we better bail. Some of the other neighbors are great though.

Good evening all. 66ºF for the start, rain, 1.1 inch in gauge, light breeze. Light wind, moderate gusts at times, sky was broken to overcast, and high temp was 76ºF. More seasonable temps rest of the week, .2 inch rain forecast for Tuesday night. Made coffee to start day, Launched boat and followed fish survey boat to net up carp we were able to shock up. Recovered boat after survey ended, will be at least a month to get results. Got home about 3:30, back boat into driveway, dropped trailer, cleaned debris out of boat, still need to clean floor, then napped. Dinner leftovers. I thought Don might like a pic of the Peugeot in action on the HHH ride.
Drew hope you found an appropriate gas station. Hope the Sea Foam helped. Hope you keep the RV up to par on the long road trip. Sorry you step brother is on the injured list.
