Good morning. Working on coffee #2. It was just drizzling here. Never got above 72 yesterday, was quite pleasant.

Mowed and was kinda of lazy yesterday. Had the race on all day from Springfield IL. Actually got the wife to watch the twins final. She actually enjoyed it and was rooting for Carver to get the win. 3 lead changes in the last corner.

We are going to the local airport for breakfast, they have a fly in/breakfast every Memorial Day & Labor Day weekend. Then off to The Great Trail Festival.....mainly an arts and craft thing for her, but they have some interesting historical exhibits starting with the French/Indian war era in Ohio. I enjoy that. Then groceries and home to watch Springfield II.

Thoughts to everyone on the mend.

Have a safe and good day

Dabsgt, the last 2 of 3 vehicles I bought I had to finance for a month to receive a Discount on each. I don’t like it either but play their games. Just let the insurance co know when you get clear title.

took off bucket on FEL, put on forks, got tractor lined up with pallet with chipper on it, very little maneuvering room between barn and big
shed and with finish mower on back, which took me almost an hour to put on, just need to go very slowly. I strapped the chipper to the pallet just
to be sure.

Pretty day out, got my foodshopping done, place was empty. Still have no real idea what oncoming weather will be like.
Wunderground shows three inches of rain and 35mph winds. maybe

Good Morning. It's 73° with 96% humidity. Forecast is 96° this afternoon. We did have a much needed 1/2" of rain yesterday afternoon. We need much more to end our current burn ban though.

The long term forecast for most of next week to be 99° and higher so ...... electricity usage will continue.

I need to wash both tractors, clean the engine air filters and blow out the cab air filters because of all the dust during our drought.

Then some chain saw blade sharpening after trimming several trees in last three days.

BEF & Randy ... glad you're moving about easier.

Everyone have a peaceful Sunday.

Prayers to all.

Geez Don, not much of a contest. Had close to $60K in my original system and that was before some generator exchanges, total battery replacement 2 years ago and replacing all original PV. Throw in price of diesel and I’ve got to be highest per Kwh as my usage ranges 22-27 kw/ day, will finish Aug just about 700 kw for the month and that includes the rented cottage at 3.3kw/day average. Of course we don’t have ac, so are toughening it thru at 77° right now.

I'm trying to find a slice of sympathy for you and those 77F temps, while living in paradise.....man that must be TOUGH..... :)

Good morning. I have just been walking the field where I am trying different things to see how effective they are at getting rid of Canada thistle. Half has been treated purely "organically" by cutting when the thistle reached the full bud stage, with a quarter of it also being rolled. It is still growing a fine crop of very healthy thistles

In the other half of the field I used two different selective herbicides. A quarter has been sprayed twice with 2,4 d+dicamba. The other quarter was sprayed each time with 240g/L triclopyr & 60g/L clopyralid. In each case top growth kill off was 100%, but now both areas again have fresh regrowth everywhere.

Don't know how any of you manage with 100F+ tempertures, I would expire before breakfast.
Ever thought of becoming nocturnal ?

Eric, the spraying does not stop any seeds from coming up unless you spray a pre-emergent, which is a whole "other story". I'm not sure how many seasons you would have to keep killing them to get all the dormant seeds. A puff of breeze can bring more from neighbors.

I'm ready for some cooler air and lower humidity. Maybe in another month or 2.

Coffee is done brewing. 57° with rain this morning. Heading to 72° with some rain. Got lawn cut yesterday. Not much else. To much company. Going to visit Aunt in Port Huron today. See needs more comfort than I do.
Thanks all for the kind words and prayers.

Have not been following GM like I normally do. Hope all those healing and working on projects continue on a completed path.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Ron, at this time, I'm kind of glad you have "too many guests". I can't even imagine the amount of love and support you had to do, to care for her for these last few years. I hope your guests continue to visit you regularly in the coming months. Prayers for you and your family. Thank you for posting. I understand not having the normal GM time.

So I ended up having to "learn" how to adjust the mower deck's belt tension by trial and error. I bet I had to remove and replace it 4 times. Once I thought I had it, I started it and a bad noise was coming out from under. I removed it again, took off a protective cover to find the belt had jumped over a retainer that was supposed to keep it on the pulley. When I put on the protective cover, the stamped steel "L" bracket had moved before I could tighten the belt. Be more careful assembling next time. I noticed the smell of gas after I turned off the engine, so a carburetor/hose check is next.

Hope those of you hurting continue to heal. Prayers sent.

Take care all and give a hug or special attention to those around you.

Friends had this tractor stolen last night.View attachment 619198

I can't imagine stealing a tractor that big. They must have been gone while they did it. Take pictures of tracks. Try to figure out if done by trailer or what?

Hope they catch the thieves.

OTOH, my grandfather in his waining dementia years, would come out of the grocery store, and couldn't find his car. So he would presume it stolen and call the police. It got so bad, one day he couldn't remember what type of car he had. That was the final straw of his driving. It really killed him to take away his driving privileges, and then later to force him to live in an Alzheimer's wing of the rest home. We were able to put him in one that held veterans. It was sad, all those veterans not knowing who they were. Most from WWII. This was back in the early 2000's. I'm guessing there are not as many there now. The locals called it the "Boy's Club".

Man from Raleigh showed up right on time, we had no problems loading the chipper, though I sure wish I had chosen a self leveling FEL this time.
Nice guy, successful commercial pool construction company, branching out into other things, including farming.
I took his company check and off he went.

Now to have a little peace and quiet until after lunch, then going to mow the roadsides on a lovely day

I put a deposit on a Ford 150 Friday was reviewing the paperwork yesterday and found a few discrepancies called the salesman and was told that I would get a better price if I financed through Ford than a cash sale. What is going on I remember when cash was better, found out that they get a % from the finance company. That's when I told him to put it back on the lot and that I will be there in a few days to collect my down payment.

At the Honda dealership they told me If I have a Honda I'd qualify for a $500 loyalty discount. I did not so no discount for me.
At the Ford dealership they said if I did not have a Ford I'd qualify for a $500 new to Ford discount. I did so no discount for me.
I just left both also.

Good afternoon! 90˚F cloudy only getting to the mid 90's today. We had 1/8" shower last night.

With my two eggplants in my very fertile organic garden we are getting about 5 a week and I count another 15 at various stages of ripeness. I really don't like eggplant until I found the eggplant garlic spread recipe. I put 1 eggplant sliced and 4 cloves of garlic in the air fryers with a few spices (no oil) and after 20 minutes put the roasted eggplant and garlic in the food processor. Very healthy and tasty garlic spread on toast.
