Happy Monday Morning and Labor Day too. I remember that meant end of summer and back to school.

70° and .68 inches rain.

Still hopeful to get back out on tractor, even mow if wx would cooperate. Otherwise probably piddle around a bit. Now that greenhouse is basically functional need to clean it up. Also need to look how to install the grow lights. I did get a bunch of different seeds in paper towels/baggies for germination. These mostly newer seeds so hopefully better luck that the old ones.

Happy Hour this afternoon at the Fish and Chips place.

69F, breezy, and supposedly "mostly cloudy" @ 12:30 according to WU, but all I'm seeing here is bright sunshine. Calling for a high of 71F.

The only rain we got yesterday was a few drops for a couple minutes ... didn't even fully wet the pavement ...

Next chance for rain is Friday.

Hopper feeder did not need refilled.

Got another clump of hosta split into 12 new starts yesterday and got those planted in that new planting area. That should make a total of 26 there.

Refilled Water Buffalo and hauled it around and watered everything in that bed.

Ran down to Dollar General after that for a couple of items we needed, Woman wanted a McChicken and fries so I stopped there as well and grabbed "dinner" ...

Mixed up another 4 gallons of glyphosate premix after dinner.

Then worked on cleaning up garage. Made decent progress there.

Woman alternates between feeling better and then back to feeling like crap. Sounds pretty bad. Yesterday it moved up into Her sinuses. May have to run out today and get another COVID test.

Items on agenda for rest of today:

Do some online banking, schedule one bill for payment.

Spray newly planted hosta with stink juice. Probably spray that northwest planting bed and some others while I'm at it.

Make up another gallon of stink juice.

Unload metal frame and rubber floor mats from van.

Move Craftsman MoJack up to the shop.

Haul garage and recyclables up to the cans at the road.

Refill hopper feeder.

See what else comes up.

Home from VA. Stopped at Father in Laws grave on the way, then decided to just stay on Rt11, instead of taking I81. Pretty day for a drive, stopped at a covered bridge.
We took pebbles and left Tiger home. She rides well, he doesn’t. She did meow softly once on way home, but went back to sleep.
Traffic heavy thru Harper’s ferry.

Lot of Lincoln's in this cemetery.

55F. Clear. Calm. Second day of retirement. I actually had a dream that I was at a hotel, waking up to go to work. In my dream I actually realized I was dreaming, for the first time in a long time.
Making breakfast for the family and doing some beekeeping work on this cool Indiana day

Shall take while to adjust,but not hearing the alarm clock going off every morning plus.

The bridge was built in 2003 or 2004. Don and I put the cedar rounds up in December of 2016. Here is a picture of other side of bridge face done with stones.

this is a very interesting marginal campground on the side of a hill in Mansfield Mo. RV is on a site at top and clothes washers and showers are at the bottom. definitely going to get some exercise, which is good.
Put the wash in and then took a shower in a fairly skeevy tiled shower with
areas I didn't want to peer too intensely at...should have showered in rv, lesson learned.

my next campground does not have washers so this was planned.
Only 6 quarters for a load

so much cooler out and under tree shade in a very pretty spot.
But since the place I wanted to see nearby is closed, I should have come out of St Louis and headed N/W not s/w.

just a little hike in the Missouri hills...
with my luck one set of quarters won't dry it fully and I'll have to run
it again. Might as well go for four trips up the hill...

clothes were scorching baking hot
lots of btus for my buck
glad I went down when I did
all put away

so I start week two tomorrow with clean underwear.
Wouldn't all mothers be proud?

Had opportunity to run my LS this morning. Sadly only took about 5 minutes work and it went into limp mode. Sent text to tech but being a holiday I don’t expect a reply.

So now, officially back to piddling around.

I remember “retiring” about age 47, gosh 30 years ago.

56°F and mostly clear this morning, got up to 82° today. Still no rain in the 10-day forecast.

Got the chickens tended this morning, had a delicious breakfast prepared by my gracious Wife, then she shuffled me off to Sam's Club to pick up a few things. That place was crazy, as it always is. Not going to say that the people there were rude, but they certainly could have been more considerate of those around them.

I didn't get to do the mid-season blade sharpening on the rider this year, so I did it today. Mowed the pasture with it after that. Nice day to ride around out there.

I sure do miss the zero turn. Hoping to get it back from the shop this week.

Wife and I still haven't done anything for our anniversary, which was Sunday. Some years we do, some years we don't. We did exchanged cards. We've been together for 21 years now, and married for 11 of them. I guess she's going to keep me at this point. I'm OK with that.

Sorry to read about the fruit, Drew. That place typically has an excellent selection of produce. Glad you got safely to your next stop.

61 Partly cloudy 5+ mph wind low 40's might touch upper 30's.

Been good day puttering outside indeed t shirt weather.
Plans for the evening setting on deck waiting for critters and stars enjoying smooth cigar...might need to put on sweatshirt tho.

yes I often wonder also. we did drive by the entrance a few weeks ago and the entry fence has not been maintained. it needed painting and weed eating. a lot of th mesquites in the front had been removed.
