good morning all
a cool 53 in Mansfield Mo.
leaving later this morning with several stops, need to get gas and going to Walmart in Springfield to do some food shopping. Then North to Longview Campground in Lee's Summit, MO, where I should have gone last night instead of here. Has a late 2pm check in so can't leave early like I normally do so going to kill some time in Walmart.

Missouri is very strange in something, the way they name their roads.
Many of them are alphabetical, A, D, AA, VV, UU how in the world did they come up with that?

hot coffee going down nicely in a cool rv, about 66 in here and nice.
RNG just emailed me and is all set to solder my wires when I get to Orcutt CA. I will have a brand new transfer switch to install by then, maybe he can be my official world famous rv tech....

Kyle, are you a football coach? I read a third child died this year of football injuries, have always wondered if the fun of the game we all love is just too dangerous for little kids. I worry that sometimes these boys play just to please their fathers. Other sports much less risky; I played soccer.
I know they have improved equipment safety, clearly you can't get all the risk out of this game. For adults, fine. 10 year olds?
I think I'd be a nervous wreck, which is one reason I probably didn't have kids

Good Morning
47° with a high of 72 today under clear skies.

Yesterday, I spent the whole day (and 11,400 steps) pulling wire through 60’ of conduit. It was 3-awg3, 2- awg12 and 1 awg 6, all through an 1-1/4” pvc conduit. It shouldn’t have been a hard pull, but I didn’t have a helper, so I was back and forth between pulling and feeding and had to go through 3 LB fittings.
I sucked a string through the conduit it measure how much cable I needed, when I rolled out the 3 ga and measured it, I had enough to cut into the three lengths that I needed with about 6” to spare. Not a good sign.

I fought with it all day, but I won. Got it all in and connected, tested the generator and the transfer function, it all worked as it should.

Today I’ve got to drop the jet off at the service center in Newburgh, NY. My parter will pick me up in a turboprop, so hopefully it take a big bite out of the day.
I always try to take a friend or student pilot along on these trips just to share. (If only Scott wasn’t at the beach…..)

A few Kids die every year playing football, but they also die playing other sports. There’s a “war on football” that’s been going on for about 20 years ago to get it banned.

Sometimes the death is the result of improperly trained coaches.

Football saves many more lives than it takes. It brings at-risk kids into something that keeps them out of trouble, like death from gangs, drugs, etc.

I don't know about any war on football, and I do understand the benefits of team sports, having played them. Last year three kids died of head injuries and ten died of heat stroke and other issues from football. Some probably unknown serious health issues that showed up. But football creates more injuries than any other sport. Like boxing, it's the brain injuries that are at real issue. Having said that, bicycling is number two...not like we are going to stop that...

many kids have real issues with self esteem and act out accordingly. I can understand where team sports gives one a good sense of belonging and accomplishment. My concern is how to make this safer and maybe it's as safe as it can possibly be now. Parents and coaches have a lot to consider.

Good Morning,
Milford, Ct. 54 to start going to 73 ! Totally sunny and cool with a slight breeze.

Scott(vt) nice pics, is that a booboo on the one knee?
Mostly, yes indeed those are multiple boo boos ! And Ryan had to go to the ER yesterday because he had a cut over his right eye ! We thought he might need a couple of stitches but they ended up gluing it ! He was rough housing with his cousin, fell off the couch and hit his head on the coffee table ! 😒
If only Scott wasn’t at the beach…..)
Paul, Newburg isn’t that far , but if I leave the family I wil be in the dog house !😂
Actually if I went to Newburg, we may bad well keep going to where my grand parents had a small dairy farm in Livingston Manor ! I miss that place, probably why I love farms and open land !

Nice job pulling all those wires through the conduit ! My neighbor across the street is an electrician and he often jokes that most of his time is spent pulling wires ! He has a very good business!

Congrats to Mr and Mrs PJ ! 🎉🎊

Plans for today, walk the beach and read my book ! Reading the Boys of Biloxi by Grisham, good book so far !

Don hope recoup is going well !

Hope all have a good day ! 🙏

58 outside this AM, heading to mid 70's. Actually...cool.

Was a road trip weekend. Moved stuff around two households, heading towards a third, tomorrow. Spending way too much time driving, but no other options.

Hope all have a good week, short as it is.

47 deg this morning, chilly out there.
Got space cleared around my Geo unit, guy supposed to come today to install new TXV valve, finally.....
I see Big Boy is spending the night in Omaha NE, and tomorrow travels to Boone IO. Drew, you might be able to pass it tomorrow if you hurry north. Bigboy will be in TX in October, with a 2 week layover in Hearne (9/19-10/4).

Morning all, 55 going up to 76 and sunny.
Planted new peach tree.

Spent most of the morning moving the cherry tree trunk parts and then splitting enough Ash to half fill the racks. Still more to go. Then off to dog walk after wife finished working for the day.

TxDon - glad your progressing so well

Happy anniversary PJS

Back to the day job.

Be well,

New tree

Dennis, it's funny, I'm my own train too, on a schedule of reservations.
But if I was anywhere near it, and could park, I would get the good camera out for that one. I love trains. Grew up with a Lionel in the basement.

Scott, sounds like a wonderful time
He was rough housing with his cousin, fell off the couch and hit his head on the coffee table ! 😒
ouch

I have always kidded my next older brother that he got his first (and only)
reckless driving ticket when he was pushing the grocery cart in the little
New Hope Co-op food store, 1956 I believe, and I was holding on for dear life on the side, guessing ages 8 and 6. He took one corner too fast and off I flew.
Landed on a big area of glass coke bottle returns, all these bottles standing
upright on floor in a corner. And I landed on them and one punched a bottle top sized hole in right thigh I wear the scar to today.
boys will be boys, you just hope the dents are little ones

good morning! overcast, 75 heading to upper 80s, % of rain will increase this afternoon. only got .02" yesterday, if it does not rain more today will have to put hose in the pool. pool water temp is 84.
some soreness yesterday, had to take 1 pain pill but nothing like the knee when I had to take 8 a day.
PT is coming early afternoon. on the knee motion was stressed but on the shoulder stability is stressed.
after 2 weeks in a padded sling I will be so ready to get rid of it.

Good morning. 60°F or so, going up a little more this afternoon. Weather is going to be quite nice for the next few days.

Got all the watercraft out of the lake and floated the docs out away from shore. Very early to do this, but I have my knee surgery coming up and I wanted everything to be buttoned up for the winter now.

Knee surgery was supposed to be September 18, but I have another procedure first, and so the knee surgery had to be put off until I don’t know when. (Waiting for a new date.)

Classes start tomorrow, so it is back to the old grind. Fortunately, I am teaching online, which makes things a lot easier rather than having to travel around campus with bum knees.

Had a nice Labor Day weekend, busy with lots of stuff. However, the basement ceiling is now completely done, and looks great!

Have a nice day, everyone!

Repair guy evacuated the Freon and it came up well short. So he put nitrogen in, and says the evaporator coil is leaking. So might need new unit. He will price new coil.

I just got a quote from my original geothermal supplier for a new, exact same unit. they have it in stock. That's my back up plan. the repair guy gave a wag at about double that price to put in a split air based system.
