Wish I knew how to run a planet/joiner... Have you been reading hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy again???

Do you think Don's mentor could be a retired Vogon ?
We'll know for sure if he joins the poetry class next

Another frosty start, now the sun is working it's magic again. CWB, your snow picture yesterday had me half envious of the tranquillity a good snowfall brings, but for you it seems unrelenting, you must be more than ready to see the grass again.

RNG you are right, I should be re pointing brickwork, just a little distraction first making a place to sit a couple of water tanks. Hand mixing some, then using the bucket on the Iseki to mix the concrete to fill in the larger pad. Mixing with a FEL is good fun, just have to pick a cool day to have as much time as possible to get it done and washed off.

Pure Portland cement costs only 」3.50 + tax per 25kg bag, an incredibly low price considering the amount of work needed to produce and transport it.

Randy, if you have time, please tell your mum we are all in awe of her life.

50 going to 73 and rain. Hoping to beat the rain with some mowing and oil change.

Don, you're certified on stuff I've never even heard of. Expecting great projects!

Good morning, 62 now, supposed to rain later. Got to 79 yesterday, warmest day this year so far. Weekend looks mostly decent.

Looks like I am not going to France next week! As I suspected, the brain trust had the cart before the horse again, the people in Germany and France are not able to do anything that quick due to Easter week. Easter week is a big deal in France and Germany. Tuesday after Easter is the earliest they are available......I knew that was going to be an issue, other people, not so much.

I learned a lot when I was doing international. Understanding important holiday traditions of countries you travel into is one thing I learned. But I also learned many people don稚 understand or grasp how that can affect international business travel.

Ron, RNG, I know full well how things go on wasted trips. I had to go to far eastern Algeria once during Ramadan to replace a part I had said was the problem all along. When the problem was first reported, it was a catastrophic failure that required massive amounts of parts to fix. Based on the symptoms, I was convinced it was minor. Expressed my belief on a conference call and got told by multiple people on both sides of the issue I was wrong. I expressed my opinion again in an email summary of the call and got the same response. So, parts were ordered, shipped to Algeria, and finally it was my turn to go. Funny, the minor part I was convinced caused the problem had been removed from the parts list. So I threw one in my suitcase and headed to Algeria.

Got to the machine bright and early Sunday morning (first day of the work week in that part of the world), within 45 minutes, machine was fixed. I used the part I hand carried. So spent the week doing training. People treated me great. When we had the big wrap up meeting (also something you do in that part of the world), the subject of all of the parts they bought came up. I told them (politely), they owned the parts or we would take them back in exchange for a very large bill for travel expenses and my time. They kept the parts.

Well, time to get moving. Everyone have a safe and good day.

Poured first cup of coffee. 44° with rain this morning. Heading to 62° with some serious SW winds. Had planned on doing a final cleanup of garden pond today. But rain and winds may keep me from that task. New computer is supposed to show up today. That should keep me busy for a few hours. May fit in Dr's orders of taking it easy for a few more days.

Don, I thought I was 100% correct when I mentioned 2.0L. But then I am not a Planet/Joiner. Learn something new every day. :dance1::D

Kyle, hope you get surgery soon and can start recovery.

Roy, hope Audit goes good.

Wngsprd, glad you got water again.

Drew, glad your garden is almost planted. Now the weeding starts.

Randy, prayers for your Mom.

I know I missed some. But I forgot what I read after the second post.

Good Morning All.

Just got back from wood shop and now I’m certified to use the vacuum cleaner.

Along with the compound miter saw, surface planet/jointer, thickness planer, table saw, belt and drum sander, edge sander, drill press-round and square holes, bandsaw, belt and disc sander, oscillating spindle sander, router lift table and the downdraft sanding tables.

They have a library of Woodsmith project books and I need to find the plans and start my project. They have cut me loose.

What I get from this is now you can clean house.

That's one of the best things about my travels in Europe was the kind/friendly people I met. One train trip I took from Moscow to a town 120 miles north. People were coming from all train cars to say hello and ask questions when they heard that a American was on board. Same happened on return trip. I did have a escort/interpreter provided by tire company I visited with me the whole 3 week trip in 1973.
