I relocate skunks, possums and coons, from my backyard to h3!!.

Hahaha ... OK, there's that.

We haven't had any issues with possums or coons since my Wife's grandmother passed. She had a bad habit of feeding the outside cats by throwing food on the old deck under a bench. My wife tried in vain to convince her that she was just attracting anything that was hungry. She always did it nonetheless. We've battled with a few groundhogs in the barn, but even that hasn't been a problem over the last year or so. The current skunk is the first one we've had in a couple of years as well.

... and once he's properly ventilated, he'll be "relocated" to the edge of the field out beyond the pasture, where he'll be available as a nice meal for some lucky vulture.

It's a little too early around here for skunks to make themselves known. By midMarch I'll be smelling them.

Skunks great mousers and love those nasty garden grubs. I've been skunked and so have quite a few (most; no St. B.'s yet) of the dogs we've owned. I'll leave them alone as long as they leave me and the dogs alone. I think the skunk and raccoon populations around here are pretty low due to mange, distemper, rabies and possibly owl predation on the skunks. Shooting is more humane than relocating.

Paul- Thanks for the picture. :D

Power came back on at 1:00. Too late to go into the office, so working from home now that i have internet again. I did start the small generator, extension corded to charge my phone. I really need to hardwire for generator backup.

County "fixed" mailbox and reinstalled it without waking the dog up nor me noticing.. The wind unrolled my outside shade a bit so I have to duck down to see the end of the driveway.. I am not happy with their fix, will either replace mailbox or add brace inside to help it keep its shape..

finished my rototilling, hope not to have to do that again, now the hay goes down.
ENT called, said they were ordering a CT scan on me, said MRI was blurred. Not like I moved...
I just want them to find the missing common sense between my ears...;)

Wind has died down, very pretty out

Thanks, Jay, but Pepé Le Pew will be in no condition for biting or even spraying by the time I get within 15 feet of that trap. We don't relocate.

PJ, if you throw an old blanket you don't want to keep over the trap after Pepe is inside, he/she will stay calm while you move him/her out of the barn and to the location you want to dispatch him/her. don't jostle the cage, just carry it calmly the the location, then take the blanket off, stand upwind and do the deed.

Well, in the high winds last night I 'lost' a 80' spruce tree in the back yard. I guess lost isn't the right word, cause I know exactly where it is. It just isn't vertical any more. It will be cut up later in the spring after the 5' deep snow is gone.
