46F and sunny @ 11:00, heading up to a high of around 57F for the day.

Made some decent progress yesterday.

Chop saw and torpedo heater moved over to the garage from barn.

Dirt and rocks from recent plantings picked up off the lawn and taken to the compost pile.

The ninety 2 x 4's unloaded from the van and stored in the barn.

Some pallets juggled around inside barn.

Electric service cable and ORD storage tank/pump moved inside.

Safflower and sunflower seeds unloaded from van and stored in garage.

Hopper feeder refilled.

Clean up of garage started.

Woman made a beef roast with carrots and potatoes and some garlic toast, was tasty. Served me the last bit of yam with brown sugar and butter for desert.

More mudding done on dining room wall.

Agenda for today, in no particular order:

Refill 1 suet feeder.

Relocate pole for nyjer feeders over to west side.

Get Water Buffalo filled up and give new shrubs/trees their last drink before winter.

Get the remaining plants planted.

Trim back irises and peonies.

Clean up flower bed, maybe do similar on garden.

Finish up mowing/mulching leaves on lawn.

More mudding.

One Amazon order due in today, not until Friday on the other one.

Deer foraging in the garden the other day, snow is now all gone:

Tomorrow's weather looks pretty nice as well, at least until very late in the day when there is a chance of rain.

Unfortunately, Thanksgiving Dinner is being served at 14:00 ... which will interrupt production for the day.

Never understood eating dinner so early on Holidays but I guess for some it's a thing.

Happy Birthday to Phil's Woman.

Sorry to hear of the mouse damage and resulting catastrophe with your gear PJ. At least you have homeowners, although as you note some things are clearly not replaceable ... :(

Hope everyone has a great Hump Day, enjoy the nice weather ... (y)

Good Morning, catching up ...

My Dad was amazing at spotting tools on the side of the road, likely misplaced by someone working on their car and finally bounced out of its hiding place. He would slam on the brakes and say something like, "That looks like a 3/8"-7/16" box-end wrench!". Most of the time he was right as to what it was including the size. Funny, your story reminded me of that. Thanks!
i think this came from the Groan 4 thread ... that is a skill

Can't hold my tablet and typing is very slow so might have a break for a few days.
I've been there - (no tablet though) I am still trying to find a flip phone with voice texting app

you know you are Canadian when 8 inches of snow is a "dusting"
we had that dusting yesterday, I may need to take the tractor out. but I have too much office work for right now (bookkeeping), so I may leave it to nature's melt ... supposed to be 3C tomorrow ... it WILL melt

cheese or peanut butter for the bait?
what do you all use?
some critter has to die for this assault on PJ's electronics. 😡
lately mice and rats in the garage. Victor wooden snap traps are effective also. Peanut Butter topped with a raisin pressed in (they can't free the raisin)... some of those rodents are smart enough to lick the peanut butter clean away, but the raisin wins
caught 4 in the past week

Happy Birthday to your wife, Phil. Those flowers and gifts look just right.
100 % agreed, Happy Birthday

I think today will be an energy conservation day.
that's where I'm at also.
Yesterday was mentally exhausting, as I spent 2 hours with a lawyer to plan next steps ... separation, divorce. Not what I want, but that's where it's at. She's already checked out, announced her separation, no reconciliation, and she's calling all the shots. Need to sort out finances, remortgage so that I can buy her out, and keep the house, ... still sad, numb, confused, and (a bit less) conflicted. There is some direction now. Giving notice to tenants in the coming months, and then when things settle, all three will need to move. It's sad. I have a lot of support, I'll get through this.
I need sleep first

I saw two Newfoundlands run out of the hangar next to me. Very friendly and well behaved.
I always think that their accents give them away, nice, friendly Canadians, from the east coast. The dogs are cool too.

okay, that's it for me for now. checking the weather, then taking a nap. Have a good day everyone.

66°F and .26 inches rain.

Guess most of the day will be prep for tomorrow. Expecting gathering of 19.

Might get another lock set or 2 installed.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

nice drive up to my brother's home in Markham VA.
We both promptly took a nap, then later went out and worked on his Kubota diesel F mower, RTV(my old one) three chain saws, log splitter (my old one) two push mowers and his tractor. All of them got either Power Service additive for diesel or combo of Sea Foam and stabil for gas. Hands sure smelled when I was done.

warm and sunny here, house too warm to light a fire. Very pretty here, close to the Appalachian trail.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.5C and it's presently 20C. Overcast and calm with a wee chance of rain late this arvo.

There's not much on for today except putting some more time on the wood stacking.

That's about it, take care all and Happy Thanksgiving to my USA Mates.

Hope appointment went well.
It did, and I apparently got past the jinx this time. Had an interview on Monday with an electronics manufacturer for the Production Manager position at one of their three facilities. They made me an offer today, and I accepted. Will give my notice at the current job on Monday, and my start date for the new job is December 12.

It's in Illinois. I am really looking forward to not having to work in that North St. Louis war zone anymore.
