Good morning! 52˚F heading to the mid 70s. Looks like we are having a small rain event weekly, the next will be Friday. Taking my Ego blower to the "Farm" to blow out the trailer and clean it up after the muddy weekend. Probably needs a pressure washer washing. Just 2 more weeks of the Fall Festival and closing has changed to a decent hour, 6pm.

58 going up to 68, uneventful Halloween with the usual 0 people showing up.
Son did go down to town with a few friends, so he did not miss everything.

My wife buys decorations, pretty much every day, for me to put out. Can't wait to figure out where we are going to store them. Attic, utility room etc. full of decorations. As is I will need to put out the Christmas stuff to fit any of it.

Thanks CTF for stopping by and letting us know about JDgreen227. Auto accident is rough way to go and hope he was not in too much pain.

SC - hang in there- it does get better.

RNG - thanks for the info on the WD red- was sure I heard about that somewhere.

Work took me well into the evening and now on to my first meeting of the day.

Be well

Good morning all, mild day today, rain has stopped going to upper 60's

A crew with two trucks and trailers are here this morning to cut grass and spray for weeds on some areas of the tree plantings.

Daughter is recovering normally and will be into doing PT today

Will likely do some more dirt work today

This tool was found in the barn under bunch of stuff along with a lot of blacksmith tools and farm related items. Not sure what it was for but maybe a tool for stretching leather is all I can think of. Any other ideas?

got latest trash bill, a dollar a week extra for fuel surcharge.
still reasonable, 31 bucks a month including separate 96 gal can for recycling with weekly pick up.

Scaredy, stay strong and do what you can do. Hopefully stay on good terms. Been there, done that.
You were really looking forward to something better, wish it had come. Just be nice to her. And take care of yourself.

grey damp day, fog burned off

Good Morning
It’s 58 with a high in the upper 60’s, clearing throughout the day.

Yesterday was mostly in the shop putting things away and cleaning. I did run a PEX airline over near the press, it will service the welding bench and the front of the tractor as well. Made up an air hose, and left it plugged in. I’ve been using Flexeel urethane hose from Coilhose Pneumatics, it’s the best, most durable air hose that I have come across so far. It has reusable ends, similar to Aeroquip.

Found the top of the woodworking bench, it’s almost entirely visible now.

Today I get to visit the FAA again, hopefully it will be more productive than the last time. Not much else planned after that because I have know clue how long that will take.

Good Morning Everyone - currently 69° going to 76°
Ron - nice pic of the cardinal.
If Popgadget or Ken lived near me I would feed them like a King once a month, just in case I might need there assistance some time.. I don't think there is anything they could't do..

Have a great day everybody...

Good morning to all! Low of 32°, going up to 62°. Just breezy today. The forecasted storm got pushed back a couple days, strong winds not to arrive until Wednesday night, then a chance of rain Thursday, snow early Friday morning. I'm sure it will chance again--- the forecasters show 2 different models, each substantially from each other.

SC, sorry to hear about all the challenges you are facing.... our thoghts are with you.

RNG, please make sure you divert some of the rain this way.....

Paul, good luck with the FAA, maybe have their act together?

Ron, do you know what kind of bird that is? Pretty colors for this time of year.

M7040, not a clue as to what that tool is.... a mafia thumb crusher?? 🤔

Today's agenda is to play in the shop and do some woodworking. The wifey's request for the tree stand will be first up. Then a couple of small 'scoop' style wooden baskets. They will be used for my wallet, phone, and sunglasses.

Since they will get mounted to the entry coat rack that I made last year, they will get made out of the same white oak. I'll need to plane the 3/4" stock down to 1/4". I may try cutting the thickness in half, then just finish plane. It's kinda scary to cut wood so thin vertically, not sure if I want to do it that way.😮

I may try to order some gravel for the driveway.... I have been waiting since we had all the rain a couple weeks ago, wanted to let the stockpiles dry out a bid --- no sense in paying for wet stone. If it was just a ton or two no big deal, but don't want to pay for a couple hundred pounds of moisture in 56 tons!

Going to get moving.... I don't want to misplace my motivation again!

Everyone have a great day!

I'm in the same boat, Ted. But when I spread gravel a couple weeks ago, it was still damp inside the pile. And that pile had sat there all summer. Now I'm seeing more rainy than dry days in the 10-day, so I have an excuse to put off the next purchase, which will also be a big one. Maybe fuel prices will come down after the election?

67°F and 2.18 inches rain. Possibly too wet for anything outside.

Last full day with friends so just might be a kickback day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

What size pex for air? Use a regular pex street elbow? I want an air outlet by my garage door. Compressor is in basement. I now run 2 sections of hose to get outside, and the hose gets in the way in the garage.

mark, I try to keep them supplied with veggies and muffins.
where are you approx in NC? You may have said and I forgot. I'm headed back down to Washington, my old farm and home, for a visit before Thanksgiving.
Having dinner at old neighbor's whose six year old son keeps asking for Mr Drew and when I'm coming back. So I am. Young man owns a Cub Cadet garden tractor, old one, I gave him when I sold the farm. And for this Christmas, I'm getting him a very nice trailer for his little yellow tractor so he can help Dad with all kinds of stuff on their farm.
I don't have kids, so I can do this...garden trailer will give him something to remember me by. His own tractor now has a trailer. Good stuff for a mature six year old.

ordered some small xmas gifts and got them in, mostly for kids. And couldn't help myself and ordered two blow up Christmas decorations, including a six foot Santa for my front step.
ho ho ho

nothing goes up until after turkey day. I wonder whose neighbor will be first this year.

Thanks guys - I think the most difficult part for me right now is the currently untreated mental health challenges. We'll see how it goes now that the family is not living in our space. I just feel numb.

but at least i can get back to my office work now

57F with haze @ 12:45, Woman says it is misting outside. Possibility of the sun making an appearance later today but it will most likely be an inside day today.

Got hopper feeder filled yesterday.

Made run down to Menards in Massillon and picked up door jamb/frame and trim.

Woman didn't feel like going to the BOE to vote so we skipped that. They are open all week until 19:00 for early voting so we'll go at another time, possibly sometime later today.

We did stop on the way back at the cheap gas station and got fuel for the Cub and her car. It was 40 cents per gallon cheaper than the station here by the house.

When we got back I came over to the barn and worked on digging out more bays to add foam board insulation. More than half done.

Also removed the ballasts from the last three fluorescent fixtures.

Cleaned up the last of the stuffed peppers for dinner.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Handle banking and schedule a bill for payment.

If the sun ever comes out I'll unload the the door jamb/frame and trim out of Her car and take it over to the barn. Maybe even unload the 2 x 4's out of the van.

Otherwise probably start putting up joist hangers on the trusses over in the barn.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday ... (y)

Did you try Amazon?
Amazon.ca doesn't have it. Bass Pro shops carries it in the U.S. but not in Canada. The feds in Canada would rather we get malaria than repel mossies. I think I can get it at a horsey shop/feed store but I will need to cut it 50%.

RNG, listen to Supertramp much?
what goes up doesn't necessarily come down.

Got the safety chain hooks installed and the snow implements pammed. Energy conservation now.

That was the BEST song at the Supertramp concert, when I saw them in the mid 80s

the arena was an amazing concert experience
