Happy birthday Thomas!

I didn’t do a lot today other than go pick up a nearly new deck for my wife’s collection of Craftsman garden tractors. Her latest find needs a deck. For $100, likely worth it. Original paint and decals are still intact. Blades are sharp.

Happy birthday Thomas, good thing you checked your license, hope it didn’t expire. I think mine expires on my next trip around.

Good morning and a happy BD to Thomas. Once again the weird, yet typical, Autumn weather is still upon me... overnight temp was only 17C and I woke up to 19C. Currently 20C. Rain gauge had 34.2mm and it's continuing to rain today which is great as my tank really needed it due to little rain over the last couple of months.

Penelope nailed a mouse in the house last evening... left her 'prize' beside my bed, which I missed stepping on when I got up to relieve myself in the 'wee hours'. Which meant that I had to grab my gloves and dispose of the carcass at that time. :)

Another 'no day'. Tomorrow I'll set up Paddocks 1 & 2 to transfer the horses from Paddock 6.

Take care all.

Good evening all. 49ºF for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Light wind day, Sky clouded up in afternoon, and high temp was 74ºF, DP 55ºF. Men's meeting to start, putter rest of morning, after lunch was going to put boat in water, then had issue with getting motor to talk to app, so dettled for just cleaning and starting. Had power blivet this afternoon and one outlet in surge protector quit working, and wife found it when retireing for evening, quick fix.

I managed to successfully spend money today. Finally back from Costco. Didn’t get everything. Strangely, no motor oil, no cat food. I asked. Otherwise spent most of Sophie’s social security which hit the bank today not sure which is worse, how little her SS or how large the Cosctco bill. I did notice that our 40 lb bag of dogfood is now 35 lb - shrinkflation.
Reminds me of several years ago her sister proclaimed that she was finally going to take her SS after being retired from the phone company a number of years. Her next statement was to decry how little SS was. Soph and exchanged glances then she asked, “If you don’t mind, how little?” At her response I failed to contain myself and blurted out, WOW, that’s x hundreds of dollars more than Sophie and I get together. She couldn’t believe it. Had to remind her that military pay years ago wasn’t that great and Government Employees didn’t pay SS.

Good morning, low temp is 25 and high to 48°F. Wind N 8 mph. Sunny! 'bout time.

I did absolutely nothing yesterday other than a power nap.
I did go into the basement and map out the new wood crib. All the wood (2x4s) is down there for it, I just have to rearrange it a bit. It will be 12' wide, up from the existing 8' and 24' long. I have no intentions of piling it neatly. Whatever way it comes off the conveyor is the way it will get piled.

The Jeep and trailer have an appointment at the garage today, I am finally going to get lights back on the trailer. It's only been two years without them.

Tomorrow is the month end trip to North Bay. I think if I can 'dine in' then it will be Boston Pizza for a full rack of ribs for me. That'll be lunch took care of and a 18 piece bucket of KFC chicken for supper and breakfast on Saturday.

The backhoe will probably go on today, maybe.

Have a safe day all

Well bugger. After all of the rain I've received my tank really hadn't increased in capacity so I really took a look for any leaks from the 25yo tank. Nothing, no perceivable leaks.

So I took the cover off of the 6yo pump and noticed a perceivable dribble underneath it. The pump then 'primed' and water gushed out.

So, after a call to the pump supplier (it's an Orange SJ200), it's off to Launceston tomorrow for a repair or (possible) replacement. I'm happy that I caught it in time and, if I have to, I can replace enough water from the shed tank (5000ltr) to see me through to the predicted rain on Sunday.

Ah, live on the 'land', eh?

good morning all
cooler weather arrived, 36 going up to 59 today in sun and clouds.

was good to see my old friend yesterday and not good to see him sick. Biopsy not back yet but they are
pretty sure of lymphoma. He has lost his appetite and suffering from edema, as his body is clearly fighting something.
It will be two weeks before he can get into chemo, a very long time to wait. He has almost no other risk factors, non smoker, non drinker, and in
good physical shape. But cancer is in his lymph nodes and spread. My fingers are sure crossed for him.

I have an appt with my primary doc at noon, really like the guy and look forward to his opinions, considering all the specialists I see.
He has a DO background and I need to talk to him about my neck and back. Need an epidural on neck and a major rotorooter to lower back.
Sure not looking forward to that. Lady across the street just had her lower back done and said it was worst pain in her life. Lovely.
But procrastination doesn't fix backs.

Magnolias and dogwoods and all the flowering trees are starting to bloom, very pretty driving through neighborhood.
Along with that blooming is a lot of pollen and I've been sneezing more. i wear a big floppy Tilley hat outside which keeps the pollen out of my hair.
Wind up washing my face more to get pollen off eyebrows, etc. Sticky stuff...and designed to be I'm sure.

have a great day

back from Costco. Didn’t get everything. Strangely, no motor oil, no cat food. I
Had to remind her that military pay years ago wasn’t that great and Government Employees didn’t pay SS.

Believe I read if you get a govt retirement check they reduce your SS.

Costco hasn’t had cat food for a few months.

Hang on I'll check my driver Lic..........yup it was yesterday guess that's why Iam sharing fancy recliner with kittens.
Happy birthday Thomas, hope you had a great day. :)

Billy, I hope your wifey's shoulder gets some relief. I know that the surgical repair is a big deal. Hope your is better. I have trouble sleeping on side (my preference) due to shoulders. I think if I had a sleep number bed, I'd have to put it on the softest setting.

Prayers for our team, our country, the sick, and Ukraine.

Morning all 37 here and Windy.
Got trees mulched and made cages to protect new trees when I plant them.
Got new front roller wheel on lawn tractor.
hurting today..oh well.

My father will be in town Sunday, was a surprise as he originally told us he would be here end of may. His planning skills are getting more randomized.

Stay safe and be well.

36 and sunny, but ice in the smallest bird bath. Getting up to 64 again, but windy.

Thanks for the wishes for my wife's shoulder. She feels better.

Thomas, hope you had a smooth cigar.

Sodamo, when prices go up, makes that SS seem even smaller. Inflation, with a tanking market, is certainly bad news for the retired crowd. I no longer have cats, so am surprised that cat food is hard to get right now.

Sweet Betsy has been smelling so good last few days...intoxicating. Crimson clover fields are at peak bloom and full of bees and butterflies. The bee swarm stragglers have not returned to our front yard tree. Phoebes hatched yesterday...5 of them. The Carolina wrens are attacking the chipmunks when they get too close to the creel basket decoration they are nesting in. Yep, just another beautiful spring. Makes it seem even sadder about Ukraine victims and their country.

Mowed for the 4th time yesterday, and did some hole digging. First time in probably 35 years of using these post hole diggers that a nut came off and a bolt fell off. I had just one of the correct size, but the others are loose, so need to pick up some more and replace the other 3. It at least gave me an excuse to quit about the time my arms and shoulders started complaining.

RNG, enjoy your trip.

Good morning! Woke up to a frosty 25. Allegedly going to 55 today.

My wife’s retirement party is tonight. I don’t think she is actually ready for this. She enjoys making deals on equipment too much. And she is leaving about the time 2 power plants and a refinery project are getting ready to start in her stores territory. Her sales guy has already been told the one power plant project is theirs, the general contractor doesn’t want any other company on site.

Probably going to mow more today when it warms up. Rain in the forecast early next week. Told the wife we are gonna have a mower maintenance and repair day. It goes easier with 2 people.

Hopefully first race for me in Ohio this weekend in Lima. Track is legendary in flat track circles, but, IMO, is not the best track in Ohio. Should be a big crowd. We are only running the Yamaha 450 this weekend. That will be easier to keep straight in my head.

Everyone stay safe out there!
