Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 7:30AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 78F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

I'm with you, Billie. Except I also wear an N95 mask when mowing, to keep the pollen out of my nose.

Little bit too much TMI going on around here lately!

Pretty much got everything packed and loaded yesterday; getting the bike on the carrier was the usual PITA. It's heavy, and the pivoting mount keeps trying to go back down while I'm reaching for a tie down or trying to get to the latch to lock it in place. The wheel chock isn't strong enough to keep the bike from falling over if I let go. Then I noticed that the rear hatch of the van was still open, and wouldn't close with the bike in the way. Let enough slack out on one side to let the bike pivot outward just enough to close the hatch, whew, that was close.

Then went to turn the van around in the driveway, and it died, going into the crank-no-start routine. This time I went back and wiggled the ground wire going to the engine computer, and it started right up again. Got it moved, then quit for the day. Today I'll get it started, then wiggle that wire to see if I can get it to quit. If not, I'll keep wiggling wires in hopes of finding the culprit.

Sitting on the back porch enjoying a cool one when I found an email from StarLink, asking me if I still wanted one of their internet setups. I couldn't click the Accept link quick enough! The confirmation said it should go out sometime in the next couple of weeks. Ordered a pole mount adapter, Ethernet adapter, and masonry wall installation kit, too. Gonna be like a kid waiting on Christmas for a while around here. For the record, I placed the deposit with them on 2/10/2021...

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Not even close, you have much to learn grasshopper. Happy birthday!
I looked at the pic again and they do look like grasshoppers, I'm going to change the name of the snack to LS Grasshoppers.

35F and cloudy @ 10:30, heading up to a high of only 41F for the day. Low was 33.6F this morning. Active Freeze Warning for tonight though.

Had a fairly productive day up in the shop, with quite a bit of clean up accomplished.

Got most of the sludge removed from the parts washer, only one dead mouse embalmed in the bottom. Probably finish that today so I can refill it and liberate the two 5 gallon gas cans that currently have K-1 kero in them.

Cleaned up the edge on that large aluminum shovel head I got from the neighbor's and got a new handle put on it.

Got two (of three) of the spare mower blades for the Cub cleaned up and sharpened. Still have the spare set for the Kubota MMM to do as well.

Double-barrel stove was humming, got a ****-ton of old cardboard and paper burned. Still a lot more to go though, but at least it's getting so you can walk around inside. (Inside temp was 83F when I knocked off and came down to the house)

Ashes hauled out to the compost pile.

Noticed a potential replacement Orange Unit auditioning, while I was out doing that:

Unsure if it is abandoned/feral or actually belongs to someone. Seems pretty skittish.

Redbud about in its full glory:

Those blooms will be gone all too soon, so have to enjoy it while we can.

Worked on cleaning up the deteriorated plastic handle on the little Ames hand cultivator that I like so much. Still need to weld a couple of forks back on it though.

Got the valve/regulator hooked back up on the gas bottle for the Lincoln MIG. Need to check inside that and make sure no mice have set up shop, probably add some more mothballs.

Refilled hopper and deer feeders.

Covered plants around back, and moved some of the ones out front into the house/garage.

Did some online banking and scheduled bills for payment.

Today figures to be mostly a repeat of yesterday I'm guessing.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

Morning all!
Still jugging away here in retirementville!
Snow is melted and lawn is greening up. We have a few flowers poking thru the dirt. We really can't do anything garden wise till June so we are trying to decide the layout of the garden for this year.
Will probably remove the blower some time this week or next. Need to dig out the mower attachment and give it a service. I have started doing carpentry work at my cousin's again on weekends. Was a nice winter vacation from that.
Wife is going for eye surgery in a couple weeks. Glaucoma seems to be holding at bay for now. Heart wise she is starting to have more and more episodes. Need to work on that some.
I have been in pretty good health with no complaints if I follow my diet!! Have a physical Friday so will see what the numbers are.

Other than that things are good. I stop in and read almost every day.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good morning to all! Low was 41°, going up to 68°. Cloud cover this morning, then partly sunny..... there is a very slight chance of a t-storm this afternoon. A front coming across will set up a dry line, creating some storms. Depending on where the dry line is will determine the chance of storms..... I'm not holding my breath.....

Some more mulching will be on the agenda for today, but just a few areas that need touch up. Some shop time will also be in order.... going to prep for some more fencing.

Speaking of the fencing.... the phone company finally showed up to mark the spots.... the tech said "none of these lines show up on our maps".... I told him they have been in the same place since I cut them almost 30 years ago, again when they said they weren't there. He just chuckled..... I am now able to start on the last section. Only 2 posts will be close to the buried cable, at least 16" away, so good to go.

This morning, I saw some commotion going on across the fields with a couple fire trucks, an ambulance and the police.... my neighbor that has a powered paraglider got caught up in the last pole of the overhead power line. He is apparently ok, the tricycle seat / engine was on the ground, just the canopy was caught up high. I wonder if the electric co-op will charge him to take the canopy off the line?

Need to go pickup some diesel for the tractor again. Might wait until a grocery run will be done.... no rush.

RNG, I hope the wire wiggles will show you the location of the fault. I bet you are beyond frustration at this point.... hope you are able to expunge the gremlin soon!

A neighbor called and asked me to draw up a plan for an "L" shaped run-in with an enclosed tack / supply room..... including a materials list and a ball park price. I am willing to draw it up and do the materials take off.... they can search out their own pricing. I know the next question will be.... can you come over and build it?..... I know the answer... nope! I would be willing to take the tractor over to do some digging or post holes, but that's the extent of me getting involved......

I hope everyone has a manageable and great day!

Can't remember if I posted about the results of the 30 day cardiac monitor....
Basically "all good".... only a few abnormal beats, a couple of periods of tachycardia (fast heart rate), but nothing of concern.... it was a good birthday present!

The B/P has been controlled very well on half of the medication dosage.... so all good on that aspect!

Only 5 more pounds to go for the weight loss goal.... a total of 50 lbs will be gone! Then I'll reset the goal for maybe another 20 lbs.... then I will be at "optimal weight". I definitely feel better already!

66°F and another .85 inches rain

Off to Kona side for a Costco run. That will pretty much define the day. Stop for a coffee in Waimea on way over, possibly lunch on way back. By the time we get unloaded and put away it will be mid afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
