Good morning!!!!

Turned into one of those days, the kind that just seems to disappear without realizing as you slip from 1 seemingly trivial task to the next. Never did get back into the shop though so no cleaner than yesterday.

Seems like a few of us can be parsimonious about wearing out our store clothes too soon. Never tried mowing in just my slippahs, but sure is nice to have privacy.

Mostly, rain is ok by me, however we have several towns that have been devastated by flooding twice in a row in the matter of a few weeks. Folks just get cleaned up and it happens again. Many homes have been totally destroyed. It looks like it may be an ongoing thing in the future with many people just having to walk away with nothing.
Rain in moderation we need, but it seems the moderator has gone on long service leave.

A damp, chilly 44° right now...high in the upper 40's today...

Didn't sleep well at all last night...woke up around midnight, tossing and turning the rest of the night

Good morning, low temp is 24 and going to a high of 39°F. Flurries/rain showers. They are talking about a couple of inches tonight. It wont stay, the ground is too warm.

check will understand the location of this one moreso than the rest of you.
Way back when the Young St. subway was being extended, I was hauling gravel. I backed into the cut with a load of sand fill, hopped out of the truck to check that my spread chains were off (the load before I was spreading stone), the guy in the white hat asked where my work boots were. I had gotten so comfortable driving in bare feet that I had forgotten to slip them on. My response was that God had decided that skin was sufficient covering for my feet and did he think he was better than God. I didn't go back to that job again although I did work for the company for 8 additional years.

I got the dump run done yesterday and the trailer spotted where we need it to clear out some more 'stuff'.

If it isn't raining today, then I will be putting the backhoe on. I've got a walkway to regrade and patio slabs to reset.
The big tree that came down three years ago and I cut up and cleared out has some shoots coming out of the stump. Time to remove the stump. That is also on the agenda for this week.

I called up my furnace oil supplier, he also sells new oil tanks and priced out a 500 gallon fiberglas tank to replace the 200 steel tank. Y'all better sit down...$3300.oo installed with my leftover oil (100 gallons) pumped back in. The fiberglas tank is guaranteed for 30 years. My homeowners insurance doesn't care about the size, just the age. I did my homework first.
I've got a $1900.oo credit with them, but that credit is for oil, not tanks. I can take up to 3 years to pay for the tank at zero interest.
I am waiting for them to come and do the install.

Other than the hoe and stump clearing there is nothing to do today.

Have a safe day all

42 going to 64 and sunshine. Got some rain yesterday and some lightning, but nothing like where we were earlier in the day, where they got hail and a half inch.

Happy Birthday, LS! Glad you had a nice one with your wife...we went for pizza yesterday, too.

Thomas, did we miss yours? If so, Happy Birthday to you!

I can't even fathom mowing nude. I put on even extra clothes when I mow...long sleeve shirt, hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, sometimes gloves if I'm mowing next to the blackberries or raspberries...when I taught my wife to drive the zero turn after my surgery, I told her that you have to be thinking that everything out there is trying to "get you"...low tree limbs, gnats, deer flies, briars, dust, rocks, fences...that way you are always thinking and anticipating...she knew I was only half kidding. I plan to mow today...maybe I'll consider not wearing underwear. :ROFLMAO:

Drove my wife to the shoulder surgeon yesterday. He's a real nice guy that was willing to see her, even though he has shifted to only working on hands and wrists...he operated on her other shoulder several years ago...x-rays showed same problem on the right shoulder now...but not bad enough for surgery...so got a couple of cortisone shots...I should have gone in with her and tried for a two-fer since my shoulder is waking me up in the middle of every night. We raced the thunderstorm front home, barely making it into the house as the rain started. At least I got some fertilizer down on the pecans, Deodar, and Christmas trees before we left.

Morning all, sunny and 48 going down to 35 tonight.

Planted the tree yesterday, watered it well, which of course brought rain.

Put some bird netting over the bedroom windows to stop the birds from fighting themselves at 6am.
Seems to work pretty well.

Tonight kids last band show. So no planting. Garden is not in yet, with 35 tonight, might not be a bad thing.

Got a call from my brother, my dad is coming in this weekend on his way to a cruise. Brother is busy trying to sell his house, so my Dad will be here for a week, gotta go prepare the apartment.

We get more and heavier rains now then we did even 20 years ago, when I checked WU history it proved that we are getting our rain in more concentrations in the spring and summer, Summer used to be dry here, not so much anymore. My grass last year was very green until well into February. No August browning at all.

Stay safe and be well,

Hard to believe from the picture, but that is a 9'+ tree I planted. Looks small in this environment.
Branches are still up, will take a few days to fall back down to normal.
Still have one large hole ready for another tree, just need to find one.
The rest of the trees I am planting, about 10 are 2' tall bare roots. Much easier!

Good Morning.
It’s 45 and basically gonna stay here all day, getting windy this afternoon.

Yesterday went by pretty quickly, started with a BJ’s run and ended with Jeopardy. Don’t remember much of what happened in between. I did start working on making a rubber mask of Emily’s likeness that my buddy will sandblast into a piece of stone.

Today will bring me back to that project as well some manuals and get ready for tomorrow’s alpaca shearing. They get 40 of them sheared in about 6 hours. I’m in charge of logistics and food.

LOL - after 1 million years, they’re going to extend the Yonge Street subway again! ( North of Finch)

Stop by and say hello if you have to do a dump run for that. We are there in our condo at Yonge & Finch sometimes.

39°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 75° today. Seems we're getting into a more Spring-ish pattern; cool at night, and 60s-70s during the day. More rain coming, though, starting either Thursday or Friday (they can't seem to decide).

Yesterday was one of those days that just evaporated for me, too, David. I was mildly busy all day, even after I got home. Got the trash out and hauled down to the road, and a few other things around the house, and suddenly it was time to go to bed.
