Happy birthday Thomas!

I didn’t do a lot today other than go pick up a nearly new deck for my wife’s collection of Craftsman garden tractors. Her latest find needs a deck. For $100, likely worth it. Original paint and decals are still intact. Blades are sharp.

Happy birthday Thomas, good thing you checked your license, hope it didn’t expire. I think mine expires on my next trip around.

Good morning and a happy BD to Thomas. Once again the weird, yet typical, Autumn weather is still upon me... overnight temp was only 17C and I woke up to 19C. Currently 20C. Rain gauge had 34.2mm and it's continuing to rain today which is great as my tank really needed it due to little rain over the last couple of months.

Penelope nailed a mouse in the house last evening... left her 'prize' beside my bed, which I missed stepping on when I got up to relieve myself in the 'wee hours'. Which meant that I had to grab my gloves and dispose of the carcass at that time. :)

Another 'no day'. Tomorrow I'll set up Paddocks 1 & 2 to transfer the horses from Paddock 6.

Take care all.

Good evening all. 49ºF for the start, partly cloudy, light breeze. Light wind day, Sky clouded up in afternoon, and high temp was 74ºF, DP 55ºF. Men's meeting to start, putter rest of morning, after lunch was going to put boat in water, then had issue with getting motor to talk to app, so dettled for just cleaning and starting. Had power blivet this afternoon and one outlet in surge protector quit working, and wife found it when retireing for evening, quick fix.

I managed to successfully spend money today. Finally back from Costco. Didn’t get everything. Strangely, no motor oil, no cat food. I asked. Otherwise spent most of Sophie’s social security which hit the bank today not sure which is worse, how little her SS or how large the Cosctco bill. I did notice that our 40 lb bag of dogfood is now 35 lb - shrinkflation.
Reminds me of several years ago her sister proclaimed that she was finally going to take her SS after being retired from the phone company a number of years. Her next statement was to decry how little SS was. Soph and exchanged glances then she asked, “If you don’t mind, how little?” At her response I failed to contain myself and blurted out, WOW, that’s x hundreds of dollars more than Sophie and I get together. She couldn’t believe it. Had to remind her that military pay years ago wasn’t that great and Government Employees didn’t pay SS.

Good morning, low temp is 25 and high to 48°F. Wind N 8 mph. Sunny! 'bout time.

I did absolutely nothing yesterday other than a power nap.
I did go into the basement and map out the new wood crib. All the wood (2x4s) is down there for it, I just have to rearrange it a bit. It will be 12' wide, up from the existing 8' and 24' long. I have no intentions of piling it neatly. Whatever way it comes off the conveyor is the way it will get piled.

The Jeep and trailer have an appointment at the garage today, I am finally going to get lights back on the trailer. It's only been two years without them.

Tomorrow is the month end trip to North Bay. I think if I can 'dine in' then it will be Boston Pizza for a full rack of ribs for me. That'll be lunch took care of and a 18 piece bucket of KFC chicken for supper and breakfast on Saturday.

The backhoe will probably go on today, maybe.

Have a safe day all

Well bugger. After all of the rain I've received my tank really hadn't increased in capacity so I really took a look for any leaks from the 25yo tank. Nothing, no perceivable leaks.

So I took the cover off of the 6yo pump and noticed a perceivable dribble underneath it. The pump then 'primed' and water gushed out.

So, after a call to the pump supplier (it's an Orange SJ200), it's off to Launceston tomorrow for a repair or (possible) replacement. I'm happy that I caught it in time and, if I have to, I can replace enough water from the shed tank (5000ltr) to see me through to the predicted rain on Sunday.

Ah, live on the 'land', eh?
