64°F and no rain, but it’s in the forecast coming from the west.

Continue on my door project today.

Be safe

Have a great day

Going up in Maine, you learned to drive in the snow. Was never afraid of it, but learned to be a bit more cautious. Agree with you Drew, had a 1960 VW bug, great in snow. 4x4’s were scarce then, cant remember knowing anyone that had one.

When we lived on the Mainland, I came to not liking driving in the snow. Not that I didn’t like the driving, just too many other idiots to watch out for that didn’t have a clue. This was in the Wash, DC and Atlanta areas so to be expected I guess.

Agreed, David. It is sometimes utterly amazing to see how other people drive in bad conditions.

I had a '74 and a '73 Super Beetle in younger years. Probably the best non-4WD snow vehicle ever.

I dont like driving in snow in MD because of the shear number of drivers.

Glad I don't commute anymore (work from home). I don't miss the commute traffic that acts like they have never seen snow the first time it snows each year... I remember the accident where we were hit headon (we had a 3/4 ton conversion van) by a full size 3/4 Chev pickup. The kid driving the pickup came around a slight bend at 45 or so and accelerated. He went sideways at about 60 mph and came into our lane. The left front corner of the van sheered the hinges off on his driver door and pushed the door about half way across the steering wheel. He was on the outside of my windshield looking at me on the inside of my windshield with my chest jammed against my steering wheel. He was 18 and had never driven in snow/ice before. He had no idea the back end would swing out when he accelerated nor how to correct. He had no insurance and had borrowed the pickup. The state patrol told me he issued citations worth about $700 to a young man that could not afford them.

This was the '96 ice storm, we had went to Costco and bought a new generator. Power was out 11 days.

I can drive in snow/ice no problem, but like others have said, it is the other guy that worries me.

23F and partly cloudy with winds howling out of the northwest @ 21+ mph @ 12:30. Looks like mebbe an inch or two of snow at the most.

Need to grab the Howes Diesel Treatment out of the van and dump some in both the van and the Kubota before I forget. Probably make a run to the Depot and check out/pick up some of that J and F channel, assuming the van will start.

I have some scrap/leftover FRP from the daycare project that I was thinking about using for the bypass doors. Upside is that it's white and that might brighten up the shop some, plus easy to clean. Downside is that it's so thin that it might not be rigid enough for a door when standing on edge. Depot also has some 1/4" x 48 x 96 Eucalyptus underlayment which has a white acrylic finish on it that's reasonable ($10/sheet) which might work well.

Ran a couple of loads of parts bin drawers through the dishwasher yesterday to clean the crud out of them. Needless to say The Woman was not happy about that ...

Also switched the softener to bypass and drew 33 - 34 gallons of hard water for the fishies.

what fish? No pics, no fish....;)

not having a good day with this ancient Super A. Tire shop called and said the rear wheels were likely shot, needed sandblasting and they think they would fall apart. So....the good news is that the rims are way cheaper than the tires and there's a competitive aftermarket for them. So another trip downtown, this time with a ball peen hammer and I'm going to give those rims a good rap. The outside edge of these rims look like a giant metallic beaver had chewed on them, so perhaps they have just given up after almost seventy years.

On way home from Dr. He changed some things to give me more mobility. A really nice Dr. That took his lunch time to see me.
Stopped and got some mission bbq on way home, for supper. Ate the mac and cheese already.

BEF, when my Wife and I started dating 14 years ago, I had a long goatee that was down to my chest (had a lot more color in it back then, too). She made it very clear that she didn't like it, so I trimmed it off, and have kept it pretty short since then. Earlier this year, she made a comment to a friend that she likes to play with it when it's longer, but I always keep it too short. :confused3: Sometimes, you just can't win.

Just wait a month, a week, a day, or an hour. She'll change her mind again...:confused2:
