Good morning!!!!

30°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 45° today. Seemed rather nice when I walked out of work yesterday. When I started my car, dash display said it was 55° outside. Hard to complain about that in January.

After checking on the chickens and walking the garbage can (rubbish bin to fly tippers) down to the road, it was still warm enough in the garage to clean my car's windshield and reapply some Rain-X. Spent the rest of the evening just kind of hanging out with The Wife.

I keep telling myself I'm going to replace the factory front and back work lights on my LS with LEDs, yet still haven't done it.

To replace the my current furnace would cost me over $3k with all the features of current furnace. The numbers contractor gave me for new furnace match the old one.
Not sure I will continue with AHS. Should not need another furnace in my lifetime. Water pump is another story. They seem to last a long time in my area. But it is 30 years old. Pumps are cheap. Compared to cost to pull it.

Yes. He seems on the up and up. Warned me AHS is slow in getting a replacement furnace. He said he is picking up new furnace from Lennox.

I hope it all works out well for you. I was a bit undecided a couple of months ago, but went ahead and signed up with AHS for almost $50 a month. But after thinking about it and listening to you and Txdon, I just decided it wasn't for me. So . . . I called and finally got through to an almost non-English speaking employee and finally got through that I wanted it cancelled. He tried to talk me out of it, but I insisted; had to almost get mad at him, but he said he'd cancel it. Then a few days later I got a call from another male who just kept insisting that I keep their "Product?". And in spite of me emphatically assuring him that I just wanted it cancelled, he simply would NOT give up. I just eventually had to hang up on him.

So he sent me an email confirming the cancellation, but claiming their total cost as of the cancellation date was $80.36 (I have no ide for what), an administrative fee for cancellation of $49.99, less the amount I paid for two months of $99.98, so Amount Owed to American Home Shield $30.37. I won't say that I'll never pay it, but I'll say it's unlikely.

Good morning, 29 going up to 42 and sunny.
Project roll out did not go smooth yesterday, but was ultimately successful!
Today got into a fight with my oil/furnace contract company for charging me as much as they could on my "ceiling" plan vs. just calling in a local oil drop off company.
Think it's time to switch, I got so angry I hung up on them.
LED bar for tractor to go with my current upgrade LED spot and headlights should show up this week.
So should my hard drives for my NAS box so I will have three 2TB drives in it and use unraid to set it up. Already set up a trial just to see how it works, not the best security, but it'll work. Think I will leave it unencrypted though.

This AHS stuff sounds painful, glad Ron is getting his furnace, quote I got to replace mine was almost triple, so the old one stays on contract as it is original Oil/wood burner.

Bird - glad you got some money back-sounds like they operate like the extended car warranty companies. Why I try to fix washing machine etc. myself.

Stay safe and be well and hope no fly tipping by any of you :)

When you sign up with them. You are purchasing a 1 year contract. They gave me 1 month to change my mind.

39 with windchill of 30, 44 later and still cloudy and quite breezy, even though they said it would be sunny.

I have 250 mb Xfinity internet, most of the time I can hit 170-190 downloads but upload is throttled at 12.
My son in Front Royal has fiber optic with 1 gig service, he usually gets over 200 upload speeds. He pays the same as me.
I’m replacing my outdated modem not before it needed it.

Eric, my life as a nighttime lumberjack could be short lived should I start with nearest trees with were planted by Sophie, one of which was our first Christmas tree when we moved. Thanks for the suggestion 🤙

Good afternoon! Another day of weather being almost the same yet again. 34 and cloudy. Next 10 days doesn稚 look a lot different.

Feeling pretty good today. Yesterday, not so much. That has happened a couple of times, guess it is just part of the healing process.

Conference call went well, about half of it was spent just catching up. The actual business portion was mainly me telling them what they needed to do and what parts they need. Had a 2nd issue come up, ç*ºolunteered some one to get involved since he knows CAN bus as well as I do, maybe better.

Need to get a load of wood moved for the wood burner. Feels good in here, got to keep it going!

Everyone stay safe out there

If you own the tree, why not use it as a mast for the antenna?

Then set up a small solar panel array, battery, and inverter to power the modem and yagi antenna, and use one of the Unifi radio links to reach the rest of your network.

Or you could use a Yogi antennae.

Regarding I-net, I am on with Bell Mobile $85.oo/month/100 gigs. +$5.oo/gig over the 100. Speeds are quick enough for me as I use the net as a time waster. No fancy yogi antenna, just a stick you plug into a usb port. I use this same stick on the road in my laptop.

my little metal coffee sculpture done by my friends with the coffee company is painted and going up on the kitchen wall shortly.

finished most of my first owl house, same design but all the measurements bumped up about three inches to fit larger bird.
Waiting back from recipient to find out what size owl they want to attract and what nests near them in Colorado. Saw on other plans that
good idea to put steps for owl to grab on, both inside and outside so I customized the house a little and now waiting for glue to dry. Takes a while
in that cold garage. A garage that would have been warmer if the propane tank hadn't run dry, so off I went to local gas station and got it refilled. They are a little
more expensive than Tractor Supply but I'm in and out of there in five minutes and don't even have to go in their station.

Pulled into my drive right behind the UPS truck delivering the new computer. Tracking said it went from Gaithersburg, to Baltimore, back up to Frederick, then delivered. It was shipped out of the Costco warehouse just down the road from me.
Think I’ll let my college kid have it.

Regarding cv19 and our (Canadian 'leaders'), the rule makers think they can do as they please but expect the sheeple to obey them? NOT likely.
I see that Scotland told Mr. Trump that golfing in Scotland while Mr. Biden gets inaugurated was not essential travel. Good for Scotland.
I would love to see our 'leaders' that traveled in the lockdown heavily fined, like triple what anybody else would have to pay as a 'first' offense. After they pay the fine(s) then kick them out of the party and blacklist them from ever being in a goobermint position again, not even as a mailman. There might have been 7 from Alberta that did the deed, but in the whole country there was 15.
I am tired of the law for the rich and law for the poor deal.

Late start today, waited till the rain passed, to give the chainsaw got a good workout this afternoon in the park removing those pesky water sucking, heavy pollinating cedars from around the parks live oak trees. Another 2 weeks and we should be finished with the overlook trail, the end is in sight. Another park trail was marked out and checked out with the drone so that will be our next assignment. We are still waiting on word of the official opening date, probably next 2-3 months. It was a clear, windy, 60˚F day after 1/4" rain this morning.

Called Mom to see how she was feeling after her covid vaccination yesterday. The only side effect she is having is a sore arm.

Looking4new, our county judge violated his own lock down policy (went to his grandson birthday party) in the spring and was fined $1000.
