The Intercourse jokes were great! But since it was so cool and wet there, Ellen decided her birthday trip would be south. We drove in on and off rain with temps in the low 60’s, we crossed the Wright Memorial Bridge and when we got on the Outer Banks the sun was shining bright and it was 83°. But when we left it was raining and 57°, great day though. We took Gracie, had some good food, checked out a couple of places for next summer, visited dad’s grave and enjoyed the ride. We got exactly 25 mpg counting a traffic jam in VA Beach, in Ellen’s Edge Titanium.
It’s 51° and rainy here, .81” of rain. Cool weekend upcoming.

Ron, great picture.
Roy, have fun on the new tractor.
Everyone enjoy your weekend.

Pharmacy was down to 12 shots left when we got it, 6 people waiting to get when we left. Picked up Rib Crib on the way home. :licking:

Ron, BEE YOU TEE FULL picture of crane. Thank you. Yesterday's fall trees were beautiful too.

Rick, enjoy gd visit....(she really wants to come drive your vette hee hee) :)

Phil, I hate to hear that about your knee. I've not had a replacement, but M/C wipe outs have my knees less than normal.

PJS, I'll have to give the Dream Theater a listen.....hadn't heard that in a long time.

Lower 60's and windy here. Eric, Please come over and walk outside....we need rain.

Drew, it sounds overall like your enjoying your new leaf.

My 10 year old son has had the sniffles/constant throat clearing hack for a few days, and they sent him home yesterday because he said he had a headache and sore throat. We got him Covid tested just now and it was negative. The school was more relieved than we are. Anyway, I used his "sick day off" to take him to get our flu shots.

And I voted today....no line.

"Rick, enjoy gd visit....(she really wants to come drive your vette hee hee) :)"

Madison .. has been trying to convince me, since she turned 16, that it's really HER Corvette.

Had the virus not come, her straight "A's" senior year, meant she had the Corvette for the last week of school. Unfortunately .. she came home for Spring Break and school never resumed. I'm sad .. that these kids .. totally lost .. their senior year.

We'll take the Corvette for Saturday lunch, at the Dairy Cone Drive-In .. in Columbus. I buy .. Maddie drives. It's nice .. being chauffeured!

After checking my fence repair and not finding a dead pig or pool of blood I was still pleased to see the repairs were in place.

Had thoughts of starting to hang the T111 on the caretaker unit, unfortunately only a handful of ring nails for the nailer. We have to mKe a trip to HD.

So I made a pizza box. All from on hand scrap. I holds 2 16 inch pizza stones. Tested it out this afternoon with 2 individually made 10 in pizzas cooked in oven at max temp. Min was a bit more done than I prefer, wife said hers was perfect. The important part was it was about 45 minutes from pulling from oven until we were ready to eat and the pizza stones were still warm, meaning so was the pizza.

Good morning folks

47 now dew point 44 high of 54 today
Been a nice solid rain since early afternoon yesterday and should keep up until noon today. According to the weather guessers it should be 1.5” plus.

Managed to get some of the driveway brush removed before the rain started yesterday.

Dump run this morning and take the rest of the day as it comes.

Enjoy your day everyone.

good morning all
Luther, I'm surprised it's so warm "up there", as it's colder here, 45 out now, only going to 60 today in bright sunshine
and wow 35 tonight. Oil burner keeping everything warm here, need to fiddle with vents a little more, living room not warm enough and bedrooms too warm
even with vents turned off as much as they go. Caused due to heater being right underneath bedrooms.

After being rejected three times by Social Security online site saying my request for replacement card didn't go through, late last night got email saying I had been approved.
They must be having IT problems...meanwhile the existing card I kept in my SS file should arrive on Monday in the mail. I am so going into that DMV office loaded for bear...

wonder how much it being an Audi influenced the rate.
yes, but it's all relative. Car insurance in NC for same car was 700 dollars, first quote I got here was 1700...we whittled that down to 1100 by the time we were through, with 1000 deductibles, etc. But that's still more than 50% more for same or less coverage. I'm sure I could knock a couple hundred dollars off this by shopping around, Geico, etc but I really like this agency, known them for years, fifth generation Quakers and this is the least expensive carrier they have. Since I have sat in their exact same position in past, not having the cheapest product on the block, I just didn't want to beat them up. But I was very clear with them the first quote was simply impossible. So in came the "limited tort" option, higher deductibles, no oem parts guarantee, no zero deductible on glass.

today should be fun as helper comes to build a great deal of furniture and help me put my new tv up on wall.
Will be nice to get all these boxes off floor, then time for me to mop n'glow the floors.

Mostly, had to look up sandbur, never heard of it.
Pasturelands and lawns alike are host to many varieties of pesky weeds. One of the worst is sandbur. What is a sandbur weed? This plant is a common problem in dry, sandy soils and patchy lawns. It produces a seedpod that sticks to clothing, fur and unfortunately, skin. The painful burs are annoying and their hitchhiking activity spreads the weeds quickly

I like my 55 Samsung tv, but really like my sonç—´ 75 Samsung.

Got the 55" TV...possibly the same model...love to have gone for a bigger screen, but just don't have the room for it...meaning we'd be setting too close, the way our living room is laid out
Ours is one of the 4k models...and with a 4k blu ray, the picture is fantastic

37 right now...feels pretty clammy too, due to the much need rain we got yesterday and through the night. Be a good day to stoke the woodstove. The rain was great...nice steady rain all day and most of the night....something we needed badly.
High in the lower 50's today...light rain this morning, but should clear up by afternoon.
Chores: dump run definitely (skipped last weekend)...quick store run for beer and a few other odds and ends. If the wifey wants to go, probably won't be so quick
After that, maybe I'll enjoy the TV I described in the previous post. I've got a number of vids I bought, but haven't watched yet...also, 1949's "Twelve O'Clock High" is definitely worth another viewing

Added: Yep...got my selection for today's movies: The Darkest Hours (Winston Churchill in the early days of WW II), Dunkirk and a newly purchased flick, 1917.
12 O'Clock High will also be in the mix, since it'll be too wet to do anything outside

Cheapest fuel oil in area was $1.50 a gallon, but I decided better to prebuy at $1.79 since "spot" pricing during middle of winter always
climbs dramatically. May not this year, plenty of supply/oversupply out there. I bought 500 gallons in addition to full 275 tank, which for this small house
should be enough. As I get older and my arthritis gets worse, I like it warmer inside, maybe 70-72. Sure wish I had a woodstove...

neighbor from across the street came over to tell me Amazon had left packages at front door instead of side door which is the real entrance to home.
She got to door and promptly said "I know you!" Yes she did, she was active in fire co auxiliary for many years, while I was a volunteer, on board, and called Bingo every
Wed night for seven years. Have known her for 30+ years. While I've been away for 7 years, still expect to see many of the "old timers" still around.
My family has been here since 1939 and with my strange last name, and my brother owning the largest accounting practice in town, and me previously insuring much of the neighborhood,
know a lot of folks. Trick is remembering their names...am very poor at that.

Good morning, a dull day here, yet quite pleasant outside with very little wind and the sort of quiet that generally only comes with heavy snow. No distant sounds from cars, motorbikes, tractors or chainsaws. It seems a shame to disturb the peace by me hammering away again at brick, so I am taking it slowly this morning before I cut out the last few pieces of steel from the gable end.

LS, 8% humidity ! Do you get lots of static shocks when it is so low ? For the last month the only time we haven't seen beads of dew on the grass into late afternoon has been when they have been washed off by rain.

Rip, utv shopping with a grand daughter sounds a fine way to spend a weekend

Frank, I would never have guessed if you hadn't said that was steel cladding. Is that the "weathered gray" ? Actually that sounds like my appearance - maybe I would be invisible if I stood in front of your cladding. :D

Yes Eric, that is the weathered gray siding. My wife has already joked that she may not be able to find me if I stand next to the house for the same reason!

Coffee is done brewing. 28° with clear skies this morning. Heading to mix of sun and clouds. Dr visit went very well. PSA is now 0.20. See Dr again next year. Got grocery shopping done. Then relaxed rest of the day. Need to get net installed over garden pond today. Leaves are falling tree quickly after yesterdays frost.
Michigan Covid cases, 159,119. Deaths 7,317. Oakland County Cases 22,752. Deaths, 1,124. Tested in state 4,572,058. Oakland County test 519,404.
Lot of birds at feeders. Woodpeckers like to have their pictures taken.

Drew, 2 of my 3 TV's are 4K. But do not use my Blu-ray player so no need for it. Don't ever let the government try to sell you no fault automobile insurance. I think Michigan is the only state that has it. MY insurance is $1529. It has it's own medical for an accident. But they screwed seniors on Medicare when they changed law in July. They did not let our Supplemental/Advantage plans cover the part that is not covered by Medicare. Well at least I do not live in Detroit. They pay double that. That's why lots of people driving around with no insurance. I'm off the soap box.

Mostly, my Muffin did not like sandbur's Always had me carry her to a road or solid surface when we were in areas where they grow. If one got in one of her paws she would stop and raise the affected one for me to remove it.

Rick, enjoy GD visit.

Randy, trip sounds great. To bad Intercourse did not work out because of bad weather. :ashamed:

RS, looks like yoke has clearance on shaft. Another week of 11%.

Frank, siding looks great.

David, good no more pig damage.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.
