Sadamo, I'm getting a rash under my Apple Watch, not the band but the watch itself. I do notice some high intensity green lights at times under the watch where the rash is. Are you having any problems?

No, haven’t observed anything out of ordinary. I do move for bed at night, but nothing special.

Thought it might be interesting to get a before/after look at the 2 years of brush hogging/flail mowing I’ve been doing and posting.

62 right now...high in the upper 70's and sunny today.
I wrote about my kidney function test being OK...got the official word on the hospital patient portal this morning. Hopefully, the CT scan results will be available this afternoon...

Drew, would you serious consider getting the same mower as you got last time?

No, I had ten acres to mow last time, now I'll have half an acre...
in fact I'm now seriously considering buying a home in a 55+ community with a tiny lawn that I could mow with a cordless mower...
Think I may drive up to PA next week to check it out, now that I have a second clear PET scan under my belt.

I've bought two riding mowers in last ten years, both of which I gave away...one a used 20 hour JD LX280 TractorData.com John Deere LX28 tractor information that I gave to a close friend who just bought a retirement home
in Delaware and was tapped out. While a very nice mower, I knew I was moving to a big farm and the mower wasn't big enough. So I bought a diesel JD X750 which was a marvelous machine. It stayed with the farm, which I now sure regret. I also bought a Cub Cadet TractorData.com Cub Cadet XT2 LX46 FAB tractor information to loan to my friend here locally, and wound up giving it to her. I didn't like that machine at all, despite having the good Kawasaki engine and a fabricated deck. It was too hard to steer and why I know if I do a rider again it has to have power steering. I've had both wrists operated on for carpal tunnel and one elbow for ulnar surgery so my arms aren't too great, nor can I grip ZT's sticks.

Yes, I give a lot of stuff away...but without kids and no desire to "take it with me", why not

going to be miserably hot today, heat index of 108. Going to crank down the a/c this morning and try to get ahead of the heat curve, went up to 80 in rv late yesterday in heat of day. Going to zoom today with sister in California, I know she is very interested to talk to me about housing choices. First it was assisted living, then a rental, now a home to buy is being considered. Having second thoughts about being so isolated in rental in country, maybe it's time I was closer to other folks and met more people, so I won't spend the rest of my life living alone.

Good morning, after a wash out day yesterday, forecasters are hinting waterproofs can be hung up for a few hours this afternoon. The amount of rain that Bird and others have experienced seeing seems incredible to me. We are used to getting wet, however at least there is a decent amount of airspace between each raindrop. Our drains wouldn't cope with even half the amount some of you have seen.

My condolences PJ. I bet your uncle was pleased when he found you had musical talents. Hope you can enjoy playing a few rifts to his memory.

Thomas, Smurf ! - never thought you would be so cruel to a person of (blue) color.

Phil, we all need bad days, if only to better appreciate the times when it all comes good, like yours did yesterday

Don, there will be some lucky campers thanks to your teams hard efforts.

RNG, that looks a great oscilloscope, a lot there for your money. Happy triggering !

Mostly, still keeping your wife happy after 43 years is not a trivial achievement.

I’d say you are quite generous, Drew.
Never had an electric mower, but Bird sure seems to enjoy his. I’ve been very pleased with the newer battery tools of late.

I seem to recall you flirted with idea of the senior community before, maybe about time Don moved? The way Don stays engaged, I think that would be an excellent option for you. I think it is very important to have a good group of people in our senior lives to keep us involved. My step daughter was lamenting that other than some family and coworkers she basically has noone in her life except her 2 cats and she is only 50. So sad.

   / Good morning!!!! #118,109
Becoming involved with others is very important to seniors to have interactions with others. Seniors have so much to give in the way of knowledge life experiences and all they really need is for others to show an interest in them. Most communities have groups like these. The older members have so much to share

Poured first cup of coffee. 55° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 84° with a few clouds. Dentist visit went well. Got a filling. Did not need any pain killer. In at 11:20. Out by 12:00. Got lawn mowed. Change oil and rotate tires on car today. The Goldenrod field has my eyes burning from what ever they put out.
A better view.

Mostly, sorry I missed your Anniversary. Hope it was a Happy one. What TV did you get.

Drew, a senior community would be a good choice. My Aunt lives in one. Loves it.

David, good comparison of cutting fields.

PJ, sorry about your uncle. Prayers for family and friend. May he RIP.

Don, nice job on camping site clean up.

Roy, hope all your test come back showing no problems.

Buckeye, it has been so long since I took a transmission apart. I have a feeling it would not go good. Hope it works good when you get it back in.

LS, hope the head ache has gone away.

Phil, glad floors and AC projects are done.

Everyone be safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

David and Randy, thank you. Don's experience has been a real inspiration for me.
Before I kept myself seriously busy by frankly biting off more than most would chew.
Now my reality is different, and I'm bored to tears by not having things to do.
I know I will do volunteer work but it's the people contact I miss. Part of that I'm sure
is the recent Covid distancing, affects all of us. But I think times will change next year and with vaccines
we may be able to get back to some kind of new normal.

The place I'm considering is very small and in a community of hundreds of homes, pretty close together. But unless there
are barking dogs, most seniors aren't firing up Harleys or partying late at night. I'm told this community is extremely well maintained.
I really like the home layout and the senior friendly bathrooms, big kitchen, etc. plus it's a full 2BR 2BA so I have room for house guests.
No garage though, an issue in PA winters.

second picture is view across the street, nice to see neighbors out planting trees and shrubs, so that could satisfy my
yard needs.

72 and fog is burning off. Looking for 90 and humid.

PJ, sounds like your uncle was a special man. Sorry for your loss and pain.

Got the 200 hour maintenance done...always surprises me how long these take...half a day, and then did some mowing...so now need to clean out the crud from the mower deck and finish mowing today, once things dry. So didn't get time to roast yesterday, so will this morning. Had a blacksnake welcome me back to the toolshed after mowing by hanging on the door when I opened it...good to get some heart muscle workout.

Good morning! 75˚F heading to 88˚F, chance of rain but it looks like it will stay north of us, bad for the yard but good for my continuing root trench project. Since the barrier came in I really want to finish it by the end of next week.

Drew there are rentals in our neighborhood maybe you could find a rental and the decide if 55+ living is for you at that particular place. There were four 55+ living areas that we visited before we bought here. All homes here are 2 or 3 car garages, I ruled out any home without a 3 car garage, what will you do when a hail storm is predicted? A car is a big investment to leave outside all the time. That would be a deal breaker for me. We also checked out the Amenities and community involvement and the HOA finical strength. We also got a copy of the rules and made sure there were none that we could not live with. Most (all) of the people who feel too restrictive later and move out had skipped this part.
Everyone buying here still has a choice of building new (for at least the next 5 years) or buying an existing house.

edit: Drew I just noticed no HOA ??? Who enforces the rules??? What type of clubs, activities and amenities are available?

Wngsprd, for heart exercise a pool swim sound less stressful.

Don, thanks. There are zero rentals in this community. The entire area has restrictive zoning and local homes, mostly townhouses, start at 400k and go up quickly. Look at this map and the market values shown. It's why I did not believe I could buy anything, but this community was a nice surprise. The cost of real estate here is not only due to basic desirability of area but fact that schools are best in State. Senior teachers make six figures at all three local high schools. Because this is a commuting area for Philadelphia, the Route 1 tech corridor in NJ and NYC, income levels are very high. It's close to California pricing in PA.
Whereas here in NC I have a wide choice of really nice homes in the 150-200k range. But I need to go home to PA...

Your point about a garage is a very good one. Wonder if I could put up some form of reasonably attractive carport. The area rarely gets hail btw but who knows
with global warming and more severe weather in future. My brother lives in a 55+ community 15 miles away, the only other senior community in the area and the least expensive home there is over 600k. https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sa...ue":true}},"isListVisible":true,"mapZoom":17}

The area has simply become unaffordable to most middle income buyers.

regarding HOA, do not believe there is one...BUT I'm sure there are rules, asked realtor to investigate. Cannot get traditional mortgage due to land being leased, another quirk, but local bank offers financing on these homes and my accountant sits on their board...I need to find out what trend has been on land lease costs, make sure of issues like assessments for repaving, etc.

Good morning- 70 going to 87 and calling for severe thunderstorms tonight- weather must know I need to cut the grass!

Mostly - Happy anniversary !
Phil - AC just in time for fall - better late than never.
David-Sodamo- The transition after cleanup is amazing- Nice layout too
Roy-glad your Kidney test came back ok
Drew-over 55 places abound up here-especially towards Newtown. When my fathers old boss moved to a senior community, he had women doting on him and was about as happy as he had been his whole life. I have passed that community many times and my brother in law was thinking of moving there with his wife-but he's got no money at this point to do so.
Wngsprd - snake on the door, wasn't that a movie? How is Coco, any improvement with the new medicine?
RNG - thanks for sharing the tranny work-may need to do that myself soon as the simplicity is acting up.

Stay safe and be well

So this is a hummingbird moth my dog is staring at. It's been coming to this pot of flowers for a couple of days and finally got a shot if it.
Looks and flys like a very tiny hummingbird-nature certainly likes to reuse designs.
