60 right now...90 for the high today...

My weekend was pretty low key (the way I like 'em!). Sounds like some of you guys (especially Drew) had a lot more adventures!

67 going to 93 and sunny.

Got pretty muggy yesterday so did some inside chores in the afternoon. Listened to some old LPs...music was good back in the late 60s and early 70s...some Dave Mason got me going, even played a little air guitar (old man playing air guitar is not pretty)...wishing I could play like PJ. Finished my work session with a good blues tune by Savoy Brown. Then turned back to Bluegrass on the radio.

Crazy that a hot screw could start a fire like that.

Poured first cup of coffee. 61° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 90° with sunny skies. Need to get weed killer down. Also need to spread wood chips from tree. Look like lots of rain headed this way over the next week. Stump is cleaned up and ground leveled where it was.
Drew, that's what you get when you wake someone up and expect them to do something with you early in their waking day.
Good Morning All.

Something ate my almost ripe tomato then a vole ate the roots afraid that plants a goner one left. My weak attempt at gardening failing miserably

We had an interesting fire call this evening. A neighbor was putting a older dry board on the threshold of his shed and about 30 minutes later he noticed a fire. The long screws had gotten so hot going into the wood that it started to smolder and finally start burning. He burned his hands getting his mower out and he managed to put most of the fire out before we arrived.

Don, how does one avoid this? That was sure one dry board. If you did not tell us this, would be hard to believe. Spontaneous combustion I understand, and I think we all set something on fire with a magnifying glass when we were little.
I think I might try a different kind of building material.

another dry hot day today. Off shortly to Lowes to get white plastic piping to use as field markers, then back to put on the newly painted rear wheels on my Gravely. In 16 years this is at least the second time I've painted these rims. This time, full grey primer and topcoat treatment. It's good to take the rear wheels off occasionally to make sure they don't rust on anyway. Plus good time to clean sides of engine since the Gravely is a rear engine garden tractor, like a VW bug. It gets used hard, goes where I won't take other equipment. So yeah it deserves a little nice white wheel paint once in a while. I had skipped the primer stage last time, big mistake. Wheel looked like it had rust leprosy. This time sanding, cleaning, priming, painting. All in the prep.

You all have a safe and enjoyable Monday.
