Love Bridgewater, would even consider moving into that town. But it looks about as expensive as where I am at now. What is up with that?

I haven't replaced the drive sprocket yet, despite going through a few chains. Always makes me feel guilty as they recommend changing after every couple of chains - perhaps next year :ashamed:.
Good Morning! 39F @ 5:15AM. Partly to mostly cloudy. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 54F. Winds light and variable.
Don't feel bad, Eric, it never even ocurred to me that the drive sprocket would need replacing. But with all the motorcycle and bicycle chains I've dealt with, it should have. And just last week I learned Stihl uses two different sprocket designs, and one of them looks like it doesn't have any teeth. I wonder how you tell when it's worn out?
Hope your mother gets back on her feet quickly, Murph. How come things like this always seem to happen in the holiday season?
Common sense just isn't very common anymore, Rip. Good luck with that conversation.
That's a lot of appointments, Ron, but all that poking hopefully turns up something that'll help your wife.
Sharpened the old chain that came with the ebay saw and put it on the MS271 I'm getting rid of. Then filled it with premix and tried to get it going again, and true to form it just wouldn't go. Pulled the plug and it was dry as a bone, so the saw wasn't priming. And with no primer bulb, in the three years since I purchased it new I never figured out how to get it to prime. So put the plug back in and jerked on the cord a bunch more; still no start. Pulled the plug and this time it was wet, but the saw never popped once. Dried the plug off and pulled the cord a few times to blow out the chamber, then back together and with choke off saw starts right up. Went right through some 8" green oak, so I'll just leave the gas in it and get the ad up on Craig's List with a low price to be rid of the thing.
Got a battery back into the big touring bike and it started right up, ran for about fifteen seconds, then died. Didn't want to start after that, and ran very poorly. The last thing I did to it was install a new electronic ignition, so I swapped back in the old one and it didn't improve matters at all. So I pulled the carbs apart and gave each one a soak in a hot ultrasound bath. Fingers crossed that fixes it, but I won't find out until later today after I get them back on the bike.
Beautiful sunset and campfire, though it took more than the usual pint of Diesel to get it going. Low temps and wood that's been sitting in the rain are my excuses. Once it got going it burned well and made for some nice warm sitting as dinner grilled on the BBQ. Does anyone else here like strip steak?:licking:
Home trying to recover from spinal fusion surgery. Dr placed me in a back brace and saidI would have to
wear it for the next 8 weeks. No bending no picking anything heaver than a milk jug. Should be a fun next 8 weeks. Now I have a good excuse for not doing anything.
Anyway life is good.
