Good morning!!!!

Eric, if you are cutting ash, you will enjoy a sharp chain, hard wood...good advice on sprocket, need to remember that next time. Frankly have never changed one. A cedar lined closet from one's own cedar sounds lovely...that wood sure smells nice cutting up. And will almost explode in the fireplace, use in tiny bits for snap crackle and pop.
and I'm hoping that dear sweet Fergie was not offended. Besides, if she met a Lamborghini bull, well you know what would happen... a Mini!

started a Gravely thread for a wing mower restoration. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...ly-40-wing-mower-restoration.html#post4637324
Sadly almost no one reads Gravely stuff, but those who do are diehards, aka Gravely Nuts.
Have a good day all.

22 headed up to mid 40s.

Son, fiancée and Charlotte the boxer are back staying the night on the way up to her home in New Hampshire for Christmas. Thomas, they'll bring some warmer air for you.

Took my wife to the doctor for a check up over in the primary shopping area of Richmond yesterday. Mad house. Traffic backed up at every intersection, just like a big city...I guess retail sales will be up this year. Had a nice stroll around the outdoor town center mall and enjoyed seeing their Christmas decorations. School is out, so kids and teenagers everywhere.

Murph, hope your Mom recovers quickly with no complications. Prayers for her today.

About 22 right now. Looks like another day on the splitter. Walking into the woods yesterday, noticed a whole bunch of No Trespassing signs up on the edge of my lot line? Using GPS on the phone, looks to be not right. Guess I will go talk with the neighbor. Sigh. Usually when one crosses barbed wire that has been there for 50 plus years, that is a good indicator that you may be disoriented.

Anyway, wngsprd, Love Richmond, go there quite often these days.

Hope all are well and have a good, safe day. More time with the finicky log-splitter today.

Good morning all, 17 this morning going to 43 and sunny. Need to go and pick up a prepaid Christmas gift and and hit another store that was closed last time I was there. Then Christmas shopping will be done. This evening we are running Mom's presents over to Mom about 1 hr from here. Add in a mother in law visit and that will be the day.

Murph, Prayers sent for your Mom.

Riptide, Prayers for you and your neighbor, don't like big cities anymore. Waynesboro and Harrisonburg are big enough. :)

Eric, the only time I ever replaced a sprocket is when it was badly worn. Used to log and had at least a dozen chains for each saw, sharpened a dull chain at night and just brushed them up in the woods.

Buppies there is a freezing fog advisory down your way.

Have a great day. Ed

We don't grow much cedar wood here, making it a quite expensive timber, however it is highly regarded for it's durability. Can you make something from it in a future project ?

Good morning! 35˚ heading to 50˚ and the wind will start coming from the south around noon so that's the end of freezing temperatures for a while.

Eric, I have thousands and thousands of cedar trees, some 1/2 meter in diameter and 60' tall. They are considered water hogs and oak tree killers and are the first to go during brush clearing. They are also fence line trees. Birds drop the seeds and unmaintained fence lines turn into a row of cedars. During high winds they are the first to fall. But during the winter they are the only green tree around since we have do not have any live oak trees or pine trees in this part of the county.

Murph, hope your mother will heal quickly. My wife's aunt broke hers 10 years ago when she was 89, getting around good now days but with a walker so she does not fall again.
