Was just looking at Diesel Generators for Home Power or Off-Grid Electricity some diesel gens. If I ever get power to my barn, I should include a way to backfeed a generator from the barn to my house.

That’s how my generator is setup, 50 amp line to the small garage box, dropped to the big garage box. In the smaller building I have a twist lock connector and a cable to connect my generator. In an outage I turn off the main at the house and then backfeed from the generator through the 50 amp line. I know that’s wrong in so many ways, but it works. My generator is only 12500/10800, so no heat pump or oven, but pretty much everything else works, septic lift pump, water pump, burners, toaster oven, etc...

I have never seen a female cardinal this light colored, I’ve seen a lot of bronze or light reddish orange but never this shade. In person it was almost a pale yellow color. This was at moms nursing home.

For those that are having problems with Squirrels at their bird feeders. Try putting Safflower Seed in instead of sunflower seeds. Squirrels do not like Safflower Seed. Off course if there is no other food they will eat anything.

Got up to 38 today, but headed down to 16 tonight.

Running errands today, so didn't have time to read all your posts and reply this morning.

Kyle, hope no after-effects with your son.

RNG, great thoughts on safety. I always try to be safe, but the thinking of what can go wrong and preparing for it is a good tip.

I listened to a lot of early Poco (still do). I got to see them live in an old fancy movie palace in 1972...John Prine was the opening act...few people around had heard of them or him, so we got our tickets on the front row in the middle. Great show.

Yesterday was much discussion of pancakes and fry bread...made me hungry...today it was Tex-Mex, so we hit out favorite Tex-Mex for lunch.

Also visited 3 Independent Living/Assisted Living communities today for my wife's parents. Would be good to move them up here closer, but so many things to consider. I can see how hard it would for them to leave their farm and downsize into a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment. But they need to. Don, you might have the best idea...downsize while you are younger and can enjoy it...is their a facility in your retirement community you can transition into if you need assisted living or nursing care?

Randy, maybe that cardinal has jaundice. :)

They told my girls that the machine wasn稚 working at the window and took the cards back where they couldn稚 see them.

Same here, about a month ago a checker at Academy took my CC out of the machine and took hold of it because he said the scanner was not working. I was on alert but failed to act quick enough. I have a scan cover on it all the other times. 3 weeks later bogus charges came from that town. My wife and I both made a mental note of it but we should have immediately stopped him.

We're going to have a mess if the warm weather continues (above freezing).. snow and ice are melting..

A couple years ago now, we got a call claiming to be from credit card company.. I told them no, I won't give them information figuring it was a scam. I hung up and called credit card company and they verified it was them that called and wanted to know if we had made purchases out of town (~400 miles away)? We replied no and when we looked at our credit card online, there were around $2500 in charges, plus another $2000 pending. None of them were ours, they worked with us to make sure the charges were removed.. When I called the internet provider a month later to give them the new credit card number for autopay, there was a new book keeper.. the old one had left on unfriendly terms... guess he took a bunch of credit card numbers with him..

It wasnt clear cut fraud, but deception. They offered a free trial which she signed up for. During checkout they said you just pay shipping, $4.95 which she agreed to. However, the "terms and conditions" say it isn't free.

The problem is somewhere she must have clicked on something about agreeeing to their terms and conditions.

When I tried it, I did not get to anything that said that, up to the submit payment link. She also ordered a 2nd product, so they pushed that after the initial free product.

When you click and read their terms and conditions, you have to cancel within 14 days or pay full price. It was not free, even though they said it was free up to 4 times before submitting the cc payment.

I did get a cancellation number, but they have already billed the 2nd shipment, but they have not shipped it.

Will check out the attorney general.

I slept a few hrs, have a terrible headache, and am staying home today.

hope that you get that fixed. I know how you feel. I hate scammers. "There ain't no free lunch"

Thanks for all the concerns for my son. He's a little embarrassed by the whole episode because now he knows, to chew his food. Son had a great day at the state capital and says he answered some questions that even the high school kids didn't answer.

Work was good today. I told our team (about the secret project) that I'm afraid someone from the future is going to come and take us all out.....like the Terminator movie. :)

Good evening all. 27F for the start, clear sky, light wind. South wind 10-15, high clouds moved in during afternoon, and high temp was 53F. Men's meeting this morning, stove duty in the morning, bike ride and nap in the afternoon.
Randy thanks for the Cardinal pics, Don thanks for the ID.
RNG good luck with the seal, and I agree with your comments on the wheel truing project in the Kickstart segment.
Not much CC froud issues here, wife checks all the slips to bill each month, have had maybe 2 problems in the 40+ years we have been together.
prayers for all.

The credit card I use for the majority of purchases was evidently hacked about three weeks ago. I got an email from Chase Bank to call the # on the back of my credit card. When I called, they asked about a charge of $49.90 placed in a shop, in Estonia. I told them it was not a legitimate charge.

They asked if I'd ever been in Estonia. I told them that I had. (Before I retired, we contracted a lot of equipment fabrication in former Eastern Europe.) They asked when I was last in Estonia and after a quick look at my passport, I told them early spring of 2015. The charge was immediately blocked but, they needed to cancel my card and issue a new one.

This whole conversation was on a Saturday morning and Fedex delivered my replacement card about 10 a.m. on Monday.

Wow! Two of my favorites! That musta been one heck of a concert! They don't make 'em like that any more, do they?

I got to see Santana at a small auditorium on the Ohio State campus back in '77 or '78. Walked there, had third center seats, could see the beads of sweat on Carloss' forehead. I'm surprised I still remember it, but it was a goose bump moment...

It is wet 'n' windy here this morning and cooling, though thankfully still several degrees above freezing.

I have ordered lots of plastic fittings and some additional 170mm roof guttering to make a start on a permanent collection system for rainwater from the shed nearest the house. It is one of those jobs that has been hovering mid-list for years. Each time David puts up an aerial photo from his drone and I catch a glimpse of his extensive water collection pipework and storage tanks, I feel guilty at letting letting so much rain go to waste. This spring I am determined to get it sorted but with my luck, no doubt a drought will come before I am finished.

That was when a contractor crossed a couple wires by mistake and sent a rocket sled down the track before it was supposed to go.

You must have been in an interesting line of work RNG ?
