Was just looking at Diesel Generators for Home Power or Off-Grid Electricity some diesel gens. If I ever get power to my barn, I should include a way to backfeed a generator from the barn to my house.
That’s how my generator is setup, 50 amp line to the small garage box, dropped to the big garage box. In the smaller building I have a twist lock connector and a cable to connect my generator. In an outage I turn off the main at the house and then backfeed from the generator through the 50 amp line. I know that’s wrong in so many ways, but it works. My generator is only 12500/10800, so no heat pump or oven, but pretty much everything else works, septic lift pump, water pump, burners, toaster oven, etc...
