Good morning all. With lots of cloud around I haven't seen the meteor showers this time around. Last night when I climbed into bed and looked up, I realised I was looking at stars - the clouds had parted. A clear night sky is always fascinating, but sleep was having none of that and must have taken me within a few seconds of my head touching the pillow.

A friend came yesterday to put in an insulated flue in my new workplace. Regulations have changed since the last time he did one for me, he had to put in a supporting bracket above the woodburner to take the weight of the flue, otherwise he couldn't give me the paperwork for building control. It seems that a sturdy 100kg plus stove is no longer deemed able to support any weight, so an ugly sheet steel bracket has to go in :confused3: Maybe I will get used to it, or perhaps I could weld up something that will look better. Anyway, it will have to wait for another time, more hay tedding today.

72,this morning high of 92 later maybe pop up storm but do not hold out much hope with the Bermuda Ridge that is holding in place. The current position of the ridge keeps us in sinking air which is a damper for storm formation

Drinking first cup of coffee. 63° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 81° with mostly cloudy skies. Got 2 doctor appointments today. That will use up most of the day. Friday and Saturdays rain has got the grass growing again. Green grass looks so much better than brown burnt grass.

Good morning all, 67 here this morning going to 90 with a 30% chance of thunderstorms, mostly after 2pm. Had a nice little rain yesterday evening, heavy rain coming our way and it parted and went on both sides giving us a good shower. Need to run to lows and the grocery for a bit today and then try to get some piddle jobs done here. Hope one of them is a nap, but we will see.

Drew the NWS decorated your area with the pretty red but did not give us any color. Be careful.

Good morning! 71˚ heading to 80˚ (for Texas August that's downright Fallish) showers throughout the day!!!!!:dance1: Yesterday's total was 1".

This week I redo the projects from last week: re-order the correct tractor part to get the wheel back on and get the new water heater fixed. The big pilot continues to heat the water hotter and hotter.

74 this morning and headed to 87 today. .6 inches of rain last night. Lots of rain about 100 miles north but the front has stalled about 50 miles north of me. They're welcome to it.

Today is the oldest boys Preschool transition day. Then he starts Wednesday. But wife and baby both have doctors appointments today. Plus I need to get chicken coops setup. Looks like another all nighter.

Congrats to all the kids you guys have graduated.

another heat wave today, and the helper emails me forty five minutes ahead of time and said he needed to take a day off before school.
Which is fine, except today is mow day, so...off come the nice clothes I was going to chill out in today and on go the grubbies with the oil and grease stains
and I guess I'll mow for a couple of hours. I really should be planting those bush beans but it's just no fun in this heat. I think a trip to Lowes this afternoon to get some proper insulated stakes/posts for the garden electric fence is in order.

You know you're under a high pressure ridge when you can sit in the family room and listen to every jet going up and down the Atlantic flyway.

82 going to 95 again today, the 60% chance of rain is down to 20% for today, no real letup until the weekend looks like now, they keep pushing it back. I've got a lot I want to do, but a couple of hours in the furnace is all an old man can stand!

Good Morning! 74F @ 6:30AM. Mainly sunny. High near 95F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

A little bit cooler today, not much but I'll take whatever I can get.

Will try to get the fan installed on the spray booth wall, and see how much it blows through the filter. Fingers crossed.

Around 77F right now with some light rain ... high supposed to be around 79F with rain on and off, chance of thunderstorms through Thursday.

No window for mowing for some time ... probably going to have to hook up the Trac Vac and pick it all up when I do get the chance to mow.

Got some cute pix of my 7 year old sitting on the tractor (she still loves it) and out and about on the property this weekend.

Weekend before I did some serious bush-hogging... I rediscovered the trail for fire/perimeter road the 300hp franklin cut for me. At times I was cutting blind into 8-10' tall saplings and weeds trying to rediscover the path. No, it is not straight...

Loggers came last Friday with a dozer to cut a real road from the horse gate to the neighbors, they are dropping gravel today, I assume quite a bit. They will log the neighbors 57 acres and I've given them temporary trespass rights to haul the trees etc.

They are a good bunch.

The big day is Nov 4th, please keep me in your prayers.

Well, I guess I called it...Raining cats and dogs. I hope the 2 to 4 hour rule on gly is correct, because I finished my last spraying at about 3pm. Can't remember so many lightning strikes in one storm...fascinating to watch them real time on the Real-Time Lightning Map :: LightningMaps.org website that one of you turned me onto...I've been sitting here for 20 minutes watching 3 or 4 strikes at a time nearby, the closest just across the road from us.
