Good Morning! 77F @ 4:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 91F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Woke up an hour or so ago with heartburn, pizza does that to me sometimes...:duh:
Hopefully have a chance to take a look at the weather station today, but if it's the temp sensor again, I'll be following that Rainman link, Steve. Maybe it's time to step up to a Vantage Pro 2, but which version? What's all that extra money really buying? :confused3:
Drew, I gave up on living a long life years ago. With all the industrial solvents, radiation, and bad habits I've accumulated, I'm just happy waking up each morning.
Those sound like some great classes, Ron. And fantastic ways to sell more guns. Have fun!
Speakin' of fun, Ed sounds like he's about to have a great time with his new welder. Best thing I ever learned about TIG is to keep the doors closed. Otherwise birds fly in and crap all over my work, or at least that's what it looks like when I'm done. I guess that's why I have so many grinders!
Lenny, was that flight supposed to be a redeye?
Kyle, I ended up with
Reckhorn ABX, the 0.080" stuff. It's on sale now, and was the only damping product I looked at that got consistently good reviews. After using some of it for the first time yesterday, I can see why. It's very sticky, but not so much that it makes a mess trying to get it into the correct places. It bends around corners easily, and cuts with regular scissors, too. But that's just the first layer. I'll be adding a thin foam isolation layer, then Mass Loaded Vinyl sheet. Here's a pretty good
How To I'm using for guidance. Yeah, not cheap, but in this case you really do get what you pay for.
Started putting up the spray booth yesterday, too. The frame's in place, and I have a way to hang the 4' LED shop lights worked out. These lights each have a 110V pigtail, and I still need to work out how to position them so the daisy chain works out. Got two of them hung, and I'll be going out in a few minutes to see how they look in the dark. It'll be too hot to paint in the daylight for the next week or so, and likely too windy for the flimsy plastic I'll use to cover the frame as well, so the lights are kinda important. I actually hope to see better with them, as the sun casts shadows that make it difficult to see the paint as it lays down.
Hang in there gang, Friday's comin'!
