Good morning all. A chilly start again today. The temperature sensor in the solar water heating panel says it is 9C/48F, but it feels much cooler, probably because everything is damp from overnight showers.

I heard that American rabbits don't dig many holes, that they prefer to live on the surface. Can that really be true ? Wish ours would stop digging in the fields. Some of the holes they make on slopes can be quite dangerous and they also throw out any rocks that are in their way. I pick these out of the grass whenever I see them, but unfortunately my topper blades have far superior rock locating abilities. Some serious regrinding needed today.

mid seventies going up to 90 day in drier weather.
I was very surprised to check both rain gauges yesterday and had over 3.5 inches of rain in each, way more than predicted or I had thought came down. Well, that took care of watering shrubs thankfully. But I still want a better rain gauge, thanks guys for ideas.

am off to dentist hopefully not to find out I need a root canal in the tooth right under where they just did other expensive work. Then it should be a nice day outside, and I'm going to spray the orchard again today, mostly a light all season oil like Neem. I carefully took the sprayer hoses off, tightened the doubled clamps down with a wrench this time, just short of cracking the plastic I'm sure. If the hoses blow off this time, I'm ripping them out and starting again with metal fittings.

Good morning all, 67 here this am going to 88 with a 30% chance of thunder storms. Need to get the garage cleaned out so I have some room to play with the new welder. There is 220v in there where they hooked up the buses so maybe I can play a bit today if I can get a lot of stuff into the basement.

Eric With the cottontail rabbit they nest on top of the ground, even if there are ground hog holes nearby. Do you have rabbits or hairs? I have seen pics of the holes and we nave nothing like that. A ground hog hole though can leave a hole 8" wide and 2' long and a foot deep. Hard on equipment even on flat ground and can be nasty on hills.

Don thanks for the link, mine is doing well, if I ever get it put up here, but will keep it in mind.

Have a great day. Ed

72 going to 91. Haven't been in the 90s for a few days.

Changed the coolant hoses and anti-freeze on the Kubota yesterday. Not too bad a job, a little messy.

Eric, our cottontails may dig a small 4 inch deep depression to drop her litter and cover up with grass...last year dug one right in my asparagus bed, year before about 20 feet away. Unfortunately I didn't find one and mowed over it. Ed's right about the groundhogs...they can dig nasty burrows and build mounds...sometimes the foxes or skunks take them over.

Ed, congrats on the new welding equipment. Sounds like you know how to use it.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 63° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 92° with mostly sunny skies and high humidity. Not drinking coffee and stopping 2 medication for 72 hours was a total failure. Spent most of the night trying to recover from headaches, congestion and stomach aches. No test that's checking for possible problems and not life threatening is worth being sick. Almost back to normal this morning. Doctor will have to find another way to take test. :irked:
Lawn needs cutting today around buildings.
Got the double belt Monday. Looks good but will never know until I put it on mower. Made in India. $29 beats $80 any day.
Some good news I don't know if many of you remember Rox and her husband buying a Olive farm in France. But she posted on TBN after a 5 year absence. You can see the thread here. Rox would have some very interesting post that I read everyday.
Txdon, you get your dad's tractor back together?
RNG, I cannot imagine all the work you are doing on the VW. Going to be a nice travel vehicle.
Good Morning All.

Good morning! Today is the warmest morning of the year at 79˚ before sunrise, heading to oven highs.

Ron, I took the front axel/hub off in the field and then brought it back home and took the hub off the broken spindle. I called the NH/Ford dealerships and they do not stock that part and they would have to order an after market spindle. They gave me a price of $300 plus shipping but I found one shipped for $200. When it gets here next week I'll put it back together. Everything came apart in the field fairly easy, if it would have required more tools I have a cousin that I could have called that has a heavy duty equipment repair truck for these sort of breakdowns.

Ron, Thanks for the heads up on Rox, she shipped Jim some samples of her France olive oil about six years ago which he brought to Eddie Walkers TBN Texas Get- together - it was very good, too bad my condition does not allow any more oils.

Today I need to take down a dead limb over hanging on the paver driveway. It's high and big and caution is the name of the game.

75F and overcast @ 08:00, high today predicted to be around 86F or so with a couple of thunderstorms. Got a little rain last night around 22:00 as one moved through the area.

Spent yesterday hanging FRP in the kitchen, more of same today ... after we pick up more panels.

Have seen multiple hummers at once at the feeder over the last couple of days.
