Good morning!!!!

Good afternoon. 91˚ just came in to cool and hydrate.
I got a call from our County VFD and we are starting a text dispatch so carrying a pager around will not be necessary.
Now instead of getting a page we will:
1. get a text telling us to call a number
2. the text will contain a 4 digit pass code to enter when we call that number
3, we will listen to a voice dispatch
4. then write down the address.
Progress? :confused3:

I may have to get a smart phone, it would skip one (entering pass code) step - but still no written address via phone text.

The iPhone SE is out, I might go look at it. . . . . .
5s $349
6s $649
SE $399

Happy to report that the lake of 9am became the puddles of noon.
No turtles lost.
and a highly successful trip to the garden for Tenderpod and Blue Lake bush beans

If you like Blue Lake you will LOVE Jade beans. We can't tell the difference in taste and the produce a lot more beans and longer beans. It is all that we have grown for the last 6 or so years, we used to grow Blue Lake. Glad your turtles are still ok. Ed

Got front lawns mowed again late this afternoon. As buckeyefarmer says, it was a tad cool out ... cool enough that I wore my Carhardt hoodie. Still have to pick up the windrows.

Spent most of the day wallowing around on a dirty floor but about have the soil screen frame welded up ... about another 20" of bead to run on the lower front:

IMG_0481.jpg

Also have to weld the tabs on the front to hold the screen and keep it from sliding off. Mebbe some tabs for plates/panels on either side of the screen.

And the sheet metal around the bottom.

58 right now...the high today will be a cool 64 degrees.
Probably mow this afternoon and do some trimming with my new (bought yesterday) Ego battery powered trimmer. This thing really knocks down the taller weeds (took it for a trial run after I assembled it yesterday)!

Hope you left a spare feed to take all that power generated when you buy the new improved exercise bike. :)

Good morning, a little cooler this morning with a touch of mist to start the day.

A few months ago
- I got a metal cabinet with sliding drawers to keep various tools at hand. My valve core remover with the cute little fluted red handle must have suspected something was about to happen and took itself off a few days before the cabinet arrived. It has still to show itself (many of my hand tools can be reclusive at times). I was given this many years ago by a friend, so was reluctant to go out and buy another, it will turn up again when it's ready, although yesterday I was getting desperate.

A few years ago - I was walking the length of the big pond, for no good reason other than it was a hot day and the water was relatively cool, when I came across the only man made thing that I have retrieved from there. It was the bright blue plastic handle that caught my eye, 18" or so below the water's surface. Turned out to be a Phillip's cross head screwdriver - the tip too corroded to ever drive a screw again. Never mind, it was still treasure and so I have kept it lying around for years since - another one of those "not sure what for, but one day this will come in handy" things.

A few minutes ago - I went to take a snap of the ex-screwdriver, to show that, after a bit of cutting and grinding, it had finally found a new purpose in life, as my new blue handled valve core remover and now guess what ? Yep, it's nowhere to be seen. Do you think the cute little red handled one could have anything to do with this ?

some cooler drier weather until the weekend, getting nice at nights, but wow this weekend, how about 95 on Sunday?
After all this rain things are going to be shooting out of the ground.

Errands to run this morning, then working in the barn this afternoon, want to get that carb installed on the CC, and will grind down the crummy paint job on the hood and start over with a proper top coat, not one with a few too many drips. Then tomorrow I start powerwashing the fence posts again. After a day of that, then back to mowing.
Job security for sure. And somewhere in there I need to finish planting the sunflowers, but this time I'm letting that field dry out a little first.

58 this morning high of 75 later very refreshing but the heat makes a come back for the weekend with 90s creeping in. Rain chances low until sometime next week

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 45° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 66° with mostly sunny skies. Good day to wash windows on the house.
Eric, missing in action tools are a common problem with my tools. Having Harbor Freight, Menard's and JD dealer close by makes it easier to find the tool needed to complete projects at my place.
Drew, never a problem to find projects when you have equipment. Which reminds me that I still have a trailer full of mulch to spread.
Good Morning All.

Good morning all 53 here this morning going to 70. It would be perfect weather to move today but instead we are moving Sat with 305 chance of showers and 83. Just praying it goes well. Running around like a chicken with it's head cut off yesterday. getting last minute things done. Had hoped to get other things done but that is how things go. Have to do the same this afternoon.

Eric I have to many things like your screwdriver before it became an ex-screwdriver. It is something I know I will need one day I just don't know when or what for. I need to throw a lot of stuff away but that is hard too. What to keep and what to throw away. I am keeping way to much.

Daugen Glad you are able to think past the storm now and that all went well.

Sodamo You have some invested some time in that switch and it looks like it is paying off.

Rswyan The screen is looking good so far, looking forward to seeing it in action.

Have a great day Ed

54F light breeze mid 60's for high low dew points for the next 4-5 days. :)

Work half day at the grind than 4 1/2 day weekend. :cool2: later afternoon knock down some nasty weeds grass etc. w/trimmer.
Enjoy the day all.

54 going to 76 and sunny...close to a perfect day this time of year. Just a few sprinkles yesterday as storms rolled past us both north and south.

Finally (2 months late due to rain and wet soil) tilled 3 of my plots..1st till to chop up the oat and rye stalks from the winter. Will till again today and get some sunflowers, soybeans, cowpeas, sorghum and buckwheat planted.

Good morning! 70˚ heading to 92˚a little hazy with a few high clouds. Might dig a little with the backhoe at the cemetery hill today, if it's not too muddy. They need a hole for a slab for the rock sign at the entrance.

I got carried away leveling pathway rock yesterday, between the rains and the voles they had moved a bit. Maybe I'll start on the garden tomorrow.

Eric the only way that the tools will show up is to make them jealous by buying a replacement. All tools that I have two of never leave again.

Roy, my wife has a Ego weed trimmer for around the house it does work surprisingly well. She also has in her arsenal the mower and the blower and I'm looking at the trimmer. They all received well deserved high ratings EGO - The Home Depot

If you are thinking about a mower they are so easy to push I would not get the self propelled one.

If I ever made the move to the city like Ed they would be the ones I would take with me.
