now, I can get pretty much free most all Cad/design software. I have a Fusion account, and maybe a Solidworks account. We teach Fusion right now, but 2 professors want to switch over to Solidworks. But they currently use Fusion along with the CAM side of it to let students do some cnc programs.
I think that Solidworks might be a better choice for students going out into industry. I think that Fusion is aimed more at smaller operations with the integrated CAM functions.
My son is an Engineer presently working for the Navy on Submarines. He uses solidworks there, as well as previous jobs and in school.
He is still a resource for me because tbe concepts are all the same, you just have to find the commands and what they are called.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 5C and it's presently only 17.2C, partly cloudy with a wee breeze. There was 10.5mm in the gauge at 0900 with some rain since then + more predicted later on. Apparently today is the first 'official' day of Summer but you wouldn't know it, down here in Tassie.

I'm pretty much going to do some dhobi today and wait for things to dry out some before getting stuck into more wood stacking.

That's about it, take care all.
I learned a valuable lesson about putting my Swiss Army Knife in the ultrasonic tank to clean it. Don’t crank the heat up!
Did the toothpick survive?

Have two benchmade knives always with me one wood one not

I carry a Benchmade as well.

Been working on the “perfect” pocket tool. Presently its a 3D printed sleeve that holds small Knipex cobra pliers, a small stainless ratchet that takes 1/4” hex bits, a few double ended bits and Victorinox tweezers and toothpick as well as a Leatherman miniature eyeglass screwdriver. All that and its lighter and thinner than my Victorinox Cybertool.

I'm not dressed without a pocket knife in my pocket. I had a nice slim SS one with a 3 inch blade that I lost some place. It was hell finding a replacement as most manufactures and vendors will not ship a pocket knife with a 3 inch blade to NY. Even though the legal limit is 4"

I was going to ask if you got around to printing the sleeve and how it worked out as I am looking into the same setup.

We're headed to Noah at S&S on Thurs
I tried to get Thursday show, as our friends are going to the music show that day, but that show was already sold out. We are going up tomorrow before the snow, if there is any. hopefully we can make it home after the show, as wife has another event Wed.

I think it was Daniel we saw at S&S last year. We saw Noah several years back. Their shows are outstanding.

So far I really like it. I did have to decrease the layer height and increase the infill density to get the pockets an accurate size for the victorinox accessories. The big thing is having actual high quality tools in your pocket.

My AI pie for Happy Hour tomorrow. My smallish chat group of friends always talking about AI so thought this might be interesting challenge.

After getting frustrated with online searches, fired up free ChatGPT.

Prompts:
pie
Banana, coconut milk, honey, cream
pillsbury deep dish crust.
Hit send and waited.
Returned a perfectly nice recipe that I tweaked until happy. Those dark things are fresh blueberries.
Bananas were local grown Apple bananas left by friend TDay.
Sprinkled on top a sweetened mix of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Looking forward to tasting/sharing.
OK, tbh honest I did taste the filling and have a small dish in fridge for later.

The legal length for a knife blade up here is 3", but that being said although my knife blade is only 1.5" long (razor blade) it is a push button locking blade that can be opened with a flick of the wrist and therefore illegal. It stays on my property.

good morning all
looks to be a nice sunny day today, before a lot of freezing rain and ice
come in tonight and tomorrow.
will be a busy day, off early with rv to get vent cover reattached, then a few miles over to the
mobil home park where I will store rv for the winter.
then want to take my old friend who is driving me home to lunch in Peddlers Village, well across the street
at Porterhouse.

then home, back down to supermarket to get some nice artisan bread for tomorrow's lunch.
another old friend was coming to my place tomorrow for my homemade mushroom soup but forecast is lousy;
icy roads tomorrow I don't want her driving on. By noon should be fine and I will venture out and go to her home instead
and make sure I don't exceed my limits of friction...which on icy roads isn't hard.

poor Sassy high centers too easily...needs a little snow plow in front.

Good morning, the low is 10 and going up to 23°F. Wind W 2 mph. 40% chance of flurries.

We got a foot of fluffy white snow. That is better than 1.5 hours south of me, they got 2 feet. But they are in the snow belt and usually get pasted every time it snows.
The block heater is turned on, I'll go out and plow at 9 or so.

Ron, a caption for your squirrel pic: Where are my nuts?! I left them around here someplace.

Drive careful Drew.

Time for breakfast.

Have a safe day all

Does that apply to hunting knives, too?

Good Tractor Morning,
Ct, 27 too start going to 38. Like oks to be a nice day, although work called me in for today. I usually only work one day or maybe a day and a half, but this week looks like 2 days. Not complaining too much as I could use a little extra pocket change 😉 Kathleen is not happy about that but did get hit with a bunch of expenses this month. I also still want to buy that linear amplifier for my radio station 😉

Uneventful trip yesterday south to Connecticut. We left in the snow and it was raining by the time we got through Otis,Ma.

Paul, beautiful job on those handles ! I think I said that before but I will say it again. I’m sure the learning curve is high for that software.

Hope all have a nice start to their week. 🙏
