Good morning! 38˚F heading to the 70s. So much to do today. Plant potatoes. Trail blazing. Fertilize yard. If I get one done that will be just fine with me.

On the small crack in the ceiling sheetrock by the tray ceiling - I went by the sales office which was very busy and asked if the home warranty transfers (we bought the house from the original owners) they said it did (the house is 4.5 years old comes with a 10 year transferable warranty) so they sent out an e-mail to the warranty division and hopefully they will call next week.

Then I went by the garden and met a couple that was looking at the gardens outside the locked gates that I had saw in the sales office. They were waiting for a call back to sign their contract to build a new house in the neighborhood. I took them on an inside garden tour and they were impressed. At the end of the tour they got the call everything went through and their house will start to be built. They were very excited.

29 and cloudy going to 42 and 30mph winds again later today. The Snow Queen barely dusted us with snow this morning. The frost is heavier.

BEF, you were right, it was too windy to cut trees down yesterday. Maybe could go now before the winds pick up.

I went to the Kubota dealer to buy some new blades for the Zero, and a filter. They did not have the blades, so gave me the filter and said they would call the next day when the blades arrived. I didn't have to pay or sign anything...don't get that kind of treatment often. Second time they've done that...but that also means that's the second time they didn't have parts I needed. They called yesterday but I couldn't go to town. Not urgent, just decided that It would be good to have a back up set, and to be able swap out sharp ones rather than taking them off and having to sharpen immediately to replace.

Good Morning. It's 45° and clear here this morning with no wind. Forecast is for 75° this afternoon .. a Chamber of Commerce day.

I have a Volunteer Fire Dept. Meeting this morning. We getting busy planning one of our two annual fund raisers .. this one will be first weekend in May.

If winds stay calm, another burn pile will be lit after the VFD Meeting. Will this one clean up after itself? Hope so!

Ron .. if only our projects would cleanup behind themselves. I'm getting better at it but .. still a long way to go on shop organization and putting things away.

Drew .. sorry to hear your procedure didn't happen. Hoping you can get your surgery scheduled soon.

Don .. that's, hopefully, good news on your ceiling repair. I wonder how long the repair will be warranted for?

Eric .. we'd gladly share some of your rain with you. We've still never gotten out of our drought, from last fall.

Buppies .. robins arrived here in early February and I'm hearing Geese, heading north, almost daily.

Hoping for an excellent weekend for everyone.

Prayers for all.

Yesterday another sign of spring coming roads were post to 6 ton limits,
Enjoy the day all.
Here we call that '1/2 load season'. In western Canada they call it 'road bans'.
Our 1/2 load season starts at the end of March and runs until the first of May. And that is flexible.
That is for the secondary roads. The big streets are still full loads. Major highways.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 6:30AM. A mix of clouds and sun during the morning will give way to cloudy skies this afternoon. High around 65F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

How does one oversleep when one is retired?:confused3::laughing: I sure don't miss having to be somewhere else first thing in the morning.

They're not especially good for you, but I keep packages of those little cheese'n'crackers on hand for when I need to take medication, especially NSAIDs, at odd hours. Not much worse than the heaves; and sorry your procedure was delayed, Drew.

Even though the reservoirs are either at or slightly below seasonal normals here, the NWS sez we've slipped back into drought conditions. And yesterday there were two more nearby wildfires, both fortunately contained to a few acres. That's almost unheard of, as February is usually a peak month for rain. But not a drop has fallen here this year.

Another sign of the dryness is that I'm having trouble keeping the trenches open. I got to shovel out a few feet of the propane trench three times yesterday, the dirt is so dry it just won't hold itself together. I also got the 2" metal elbows attached to their 10' section of straight conduit, and at some 40-50 lbs each, they were more than a handful. Needed to take more dirt out of that trench to get them to line up with the PVC, and had a heck of a time getting the couplers at that end to engage. I decided to leave the glue off until the electrical contractor can have a look at them Wednesday when he drops off the solar panels, and I'm hoping the building inspector doesn't notice. They'll be mostly hidden by the two 1" runs of conduit; that's gonna be a full trench by the time it gets to the house. Got the 1" almost done, still need to get the metal part up at the house put together and installed.

Hopefully that won't take much time; I really want to get going on the posts for the solar rack today.

Happy Leap Day! Hope everyone enjoys a fine weekend!:dance1:

Good morning to all! Low of 24, but going up to 54 and sunny.

Did some errands yesterday and then helped the neighbor move some bales of hay with my tractor (well he moved them, I just sat on the tractor and then moved them). Then talked for a bit. I think he is now going to buy a tractor....

Drew, I am sorry to hear that you could not get the procedure done. Hopefully they can get you rescheduled expeditiously.

Jay, sorry to hear about the broken tree limbs and winter damage. Do you clean the debris up or leave it for natural habitat? Hopefully soon you will again be basking in some warmer temps.

RNG, sounds like you have a dilemma deciding on what to do next... anything you choose will be productive for sure!

Mostly, wow, over 1K already.... are you trying for a new record this year?

WnG, be careful with the trees. How big were the 3 you were eyeing?

The plumbing project went well yesterday. I actually have pieces and fittings left over. Maybe I just purchased way more than needed because of the past experiences of always being short one fitting ..... It was the first plumbing project for me without some sort of dilemma / issue.

My middle son is coming up with the 2 grandsons, we will spread some more of the gravel and he can do the final raking. The other son is prepping the new garage floor for concrete stain. The weather conditions are perfect this weekend, so he is going to take advantage to get it done. Pics will follow...

Everyone have a great day and weekend!

RNG, don’t forget to put some underground warning tape in the trench before filling it completely.

62°F and 1.02 inches rain. Today could be another wx day.
Likely practice some energy conservation.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
