91 out and had to come in.
finished the pergola, mowed and trimmed the lawn,
watered all the flower pots, picked up the garage,
now in for lunch and a rest.

was able to pound the last stake in, wasn't too hard thanks to five inches of rain in last week.
one corner sitting on large rock underneath, no chance on that corner so put two very heavy concrete blocks
around it. Thanks Ken

actually have some brats I think I'll go grill for lunch.

67°F .44 inches rain

Good trip to town, took longer than anticipated.

Apparently the PCB in my pool vac is toast. Same error as when I started. Turn it on, says it is running, but isn’t, says not communicating, then quits. Replacement board ordered.

Hope to get started on a painting project day. Wx might affect.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Afternoon all;

According to the weather underground we are at 91 also, my indicator is only reading 88 in the shade.
Had to come in and cool of a bit, grab a bit to eat and shower and change to go up for my daily radiation dose. Was going to mow lawn this morning, fired up the mower got about 40 feet mowing along side a blue tarp over some building material stored outside got a silver too close grabbed that tarp and chewed a bunch up and wound the rest of it up around the spindles and blades.
So dropped the deck off brought the tractor over to lift the deck up to a nice working height, pulled the blades and got all the tarp strand out from the spindles. Looked at the blades and they were surprisingly good so just throw them back on, greased the deck good.
Tomorrow morning I'll put the deck back on see what happens.
An ol fat boy doesn't do good in high heat and high humidity, it sure was good to climb into the Branson that I had left running while it was holding up the mower deck, the air coming out the duct work was 45 degrees.

Stay safe and get well all

Dennis glad progress on deck. Hope Lowe's run successful.
The guy that checked me out at Lowes looks like he could have been MS13, covered in face tattoos. So unappealing and a sharp contrast to the young kid that checked me out last week. looked like he gave a discount to the female ahead, that he acted like he knew. I never saw her pay. I just checked my receipt to make sure i didn't pay for it....

Too hot for deck work today. Had good breakfast meeting, will mow later.

Lou, the ole suck up a tarp with the mower trick, seems I just did that lately....

Made a Costco run after the breakfast meeting. Quickly reminded me why I like shopping Sams Club now, but couldn't find a couple things there. Did buy a couple things that were on sale.

Got 6 yellow straight neck, 5 zucchini, and 2 straight 8 cukes in the ground before I felt the putter-patter of raindrops.

Didn’t last long but I came on around to front to roll up The Woman’s car windows for Her and then came inside for a little snack.

Woman made Her Mac salad so that’s what it is.

BLT’s for dinner tonight.

Going get those tube feeders filled and see if I can’t get the west side mowed in between the raindrops.

The smoke cover sure made it more bearable mowing today, wasn't all that bad. Got it all mowed to the creek, 8th time this year. Need the other side of creek mowed, the Jap stilt grass is growing fast over there. There's another dead cherry tree that blew down, and a bunch more sticks. Problem is can't see the sticks when the grass gets so thick.

Hopper and tube feeder filled, also scattered some seeds for the ground feeders.

West side mowing completed.

Got a couple more straight 8 cukes in the ground before the rain started up again. Still 2 more to do.

Bacon all cooked up.

Flat of the largest tomato plants moved outside from the greenhouse in the dining room.

Lodge cast iron bacon press ordered from Amazon.

Woman at the grocery store picking up lettuce, tomatoes, hopefully some of that good Vienna bread and a few other items.

Probably repot some of tomato seedlings after dinner.

nice to sit at end of day, in the shade, needed a cup of coffee to keep moving,
another 5000+ step day in the heat.
you'd think I'd get skinny but I nixed that with the cherry pie I bought.
last week I tried a peach pie and it was so sweet and gummy I threw the rest in the trash.
but the cherry pie is almost tart and a winner.
I'm a sucker for sour cherry pie

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 2.0C and it's presently 8.3C, high-overcast & calm. Cross-fingers for rain this evening & throughout the weekend to Tuesday, according to the Official weatherguessers.

Tip run and Doctor appointment accomplished yesterday. He's added a new script to knock the glucose numbers down BUT warned me to keep some jelly beans handy in case I 'crash'. I took the first tablet this morning with breakie, so I'll pretty much stay home today and 'monitor' the situation. She'll be right.

That's about it, take care all.

Coffee is brewing. 55° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with mostly cloudy skies. .19" rain yesterday. House is clean and laundry is finished except for folding and putting away. Will get that done before Grocery shopping today. Then will get started on grass cutting.
Now have 4 Sandhill Cranes coming by to help with cleanup.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, the low is 46 and going to a high of 77°F. Wind calm. Sunny and smokey.

Today might be a good day to put up the new roof on the tractor shelter. No wind to speak of. I'll see if Junior wants to do it today. He is the one that does all the bull work. I just hold this or hold that.

Ron, the cleaning crew is back. Too bad they are 'protected'.

Have a safe day all

63 and a little ground fog, going to 85, and another tick up of the humidity level.

Buppies, that's scary about Holly taking off. You might need a security system with a code to get out through the doors.

Grass was so wet from dew yesterday, decided to use the cool morning for a hike and swim for Della. On the trail, saw the Portuguese Water Dog, Kai, so had some good play time. Then split and stacked my last load of firewood. Should have quit after that, but got the big 60V battery out for the string trimmer and went at it. No energy left.

good morning all
66 going up to 87 today, some showers possible tonight
I kind of overdid it a bit last two days, having problems holding a cup
of coffee, right arm very sore. Guess I'd better chill out today

Ron, those cranes are beautiful
at least they aren't storks bringing babies... ;)

Bill, sounds like a good plan, be the supervisor

hope you all have a nice day.

good morning, 65 going to 82 rain in FC for later and tomorrow

Stacked the last bucket load of firewood. Mowed the tall grass down in the meadow around tree plantings. Lots of deer springing up and fortunately missed the tiny newborn Bambi that the mother had hid in the grass

Picked up a branch that I did not spot that lodged above the mower deck and caused a burning smell. Had to go back to get tools to cut it out

Fire alarm went off. Come to find out I am supposed to vacuum or blow it out with compressed air to keep the sensors clean. Back working as normal. They have 10 year life batteries and detect fire as well as CO. Cleaning is to be yearly and they are just one year out since installation

Step count for the last month shows 7900 average daily steps. Not really trying to get the steps in except the daily walking Cody and trips to barn etc

Good morning TBN!!
59 going up to near 90 with isolated Tstorms. Summer pattern.

Didn't post yesterday. We had Spectrum fiber installed so was dealing with that. So far I really like fiber!!
Wed I wrestled, push and pulled all day but I got it...on my own too. My NH is a work horse!! I ended up putting the ends I cut out from the new tank to slide on. Hardest part was the crushed side stayed the way it shows and it was a little wider the the space I had to pull it through. Sometimes I just take "you can't do that" as a challenge to be conquered! I also learned my 3 pt has more lifting power the the FEL. I could pick up the end just enough to slide a chunk of steel under the front lip. But the 3 pt picked it up it's full range. I did snap a bar on the 3pt assembly and may have to post again later to find out what it is called. Two steel straps that connect out side of the lift and tilt hyd. Research coming.

Tank out.jpg

Definitely the biggest thing I have ever tackled. Now the plan is to cut it up and recycle or scrap most. I will take one of the longer sides to make a wall as a "guide" for the the river to follow.

And now it's time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day
