66F, cloudy, and wet @ 07:00, calling for a high of 74F for the day.

70% chance of light rain, chance of a thunderstorm.

Was cleaning up in the kitchen when The Woman got back from the grocery store yesterday and happened to look out the window and there was a raccoon at the bird feeders.

So I grabbed the 12 gauge and quietly went out the front door and made the “”Shhh” sign to The Woman as She was getting out of the car.

Coon didn’t spook and I was able to hit it with the first shot but it was still squirming … so it got a second round.

Went back out after dinner and scooped it up with a pitchfork and threw it in the dump cart and took it up to the field for the buzzards to dispose of it.

Next up will be the groundhogs. Have been seeing the mama groundhog regularly and the little ones just recently started making an appearance.

Did not get any tomato repotting done so that will be on the agenda today … along with figuring out WTF the SSA did this month.

The Little Squeak is out in the garage on Safari and coffee is tasting very good.

Hope everyone is having a decent Friday.

Morning all, 68 going to 88 and sunny/hazy
Wow was it humid yesterday.
Did some pool cleaning and started putting out the furniture.
Wife is off to a girls weekend.

Still need to powerwash the deck. Finish putting out the pool furniture. Hack down the lower back yard growth.

Be well,

Gonna have a lot of babies. Placed gently out of pool. These are big spiders, but not aggressive at all and eat all the bugs I don't want. Her back is a large grouping of eggs.

Good Morning
67° and hazy. High in the supper 80’s again, yesterday was 87.
Yesterday kept me moving all day. Got almost all the mowing done, took the string trimmer for a walk followed by the blower.
Gave the tractor a quick bath with the pressure washer and foam cannon.

Did the same to the Lazer.
Went over to neighbors farm and charged the AC in his 140 hp New Holland tractor. Then packed up a model airplane and headed over to the club field to fly it and attend the monthly meeting. Oldest son came along and is going to join the club as well.
Figured I would be making my own dinner when I got home as it was already 7:45, I got a call from the restaurant owner that his home AC wasn’t working. I told him he would have to make my dinner, but I’d grab some tools and head over to eat and pick him up.
Worked out well, I got fed, his AC is working and I was home and in bed not much after 9.
Today, I’ll finish the mowing, just a bit to do with the Lazer along the lane and between the pastures and the pond. Hope to get some RC flying in again, Zoom Meeting with the State DOT for the airport authority, and there is still a Costco run that needs to be done. Looks like music tonight as well.

Good Morning,
67 to start going to upper 80’s.
A rough couple of days. It started Wednesday night with a classic from my wife that we had a burst pipe in the basement. Turned out to be a septic backup. 😳 Called my septic service and they came out the following morning at 6:15. We pumped it out but that didn’t free the blockage so I had to have the drain cleaning guy come out to the tune of $$400. Time to invest in a longer snake, mines not long enough.
Then I was attending my grandson’s preschool graduation last night and trying to hold onto a ballon and a gift getting out of the car and I managed to close the door on my thumb 🥲
So really hoping for a better day today at work 😉

Paul nice wash job on the tractor, looks like brand new 😁

Hope all have a splendid day 🙏

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! 74° going to a high of 85° with scattered thunderstorms. Sticky, hazy, pollen-y fun out there right now. Really hope we do get the forecasted rain so that will tamp everything down, or make it into a stew pot, depends on the rain.

I am pleased to report that my offer has been sent to the sellers. Checking my email every 10 minutes to see if a decision has been made. I'll either be 164k in the hole or not soon. Busy work week, trying to get things buttoned up before the boss goes on vacation this weekend and I go into survival mode. On top of that, I've been trying to help girlfriend sort through some family issues. So it's been pretty spicy here.

On the tractoring front, I bought new grease zirks for the grapple and installed them. Gave the grapple the first shot of grease in about two years or so. I've been studying a 60" Brushbull at a nearby dealer if the land purchase goes through, that will be my next "buy" once my bank account recovers.

Otherwise it's just been heat, work, worry, and of course mowing. Can't really complain, as these are all good problems to have.

Prayers for those ailing and recovering!
Y'all stay safe out there and be well! Enjoy the weekend!

really nice pic of your property Ken. Don't show it to the tax assessor... ;)

ripped out all the radishes, got a nice final haul of them, then had to move a row of sweet peppers over
that would have gotten covered by the squash. Then ran downtown to use a ten dollar off coupon for bird seed, a citronella candle
and a few other things I could have lived without but needed bill to get over 50 bucks for coupon.

mixed up a few containers of Cal-Mag for the tomatoes and peppers and watered them down well.

66°F and .30 inches rain Interesting never a hard rain, just light and intermittent

Didn’t get any painting done. Prep.
8 sets of French doors, that’s 16 doors. Remove the handle and lock hardware today and maybe some touch up sanding then I can paint.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

today was able to get to the undermining issue at the 2 concrete pipes for the creek that flows down in the meadow. Nothing big like Happy's project but important to stop the undermining. Dug it out and found that close by there was clay a couple ft down so used that to pack it in with the bucket on the excavator. Surprising how well it can compact it by using it to ram it into the ground and then finish it off with compression by the tracks

BEF, D-Day = 81 years ago. I will never forget.

Got the army trailer out of winter storage and loaded with the old roof off the Shelter Logic tractor shed, along with the tarp that bought me an extra year. The trailer is loaded and will take it to the dump on Sunday. If there is not much wind tomorrow, then we will put the new roof on. Also got the front and north lawns cut. My new concoction for black flies and mosquitoes works good, but it doesn't work on deer flies. They had a field day with my hands.
IF it is windy tomorrow and out of the South, then I will start attacking trees at the mouth of the driveway. The two biggest ones are 8" in diameter. There are about 8 smaller ones that I will drop and shove into the bush. The two bigger ones I want 11' out of the butt end.
