Today flew by.
got a little deck work in today. finished the blocking down the middle, and installed 2 more pieces. Then moved picnic table to the new deck side, to clear the way to pull more deck boards the next time.. Still haven't decided if im keeping the picnic table. It's metal frames with 2x10s for top and seats. wood is splintering already. I'll probably take it apart and save the metal legs.
Had a wedding to go to this afternoon. very informal, but I recorded it for them. Then a bunch of us went to Texas Roadhouse, so now am stuffed. Brought half a rack of ribs home with me.

Up this morning fell asleep at 1:45 not smart cannot help it. My life is going thru big changes and I do not like them. I miss Holly so much.

I’m obviously a huge dog fan (that happens to have a large dog). With that in mind, my advice might be biased, but I can’t imagine not having a dog in the house.
There is definitely a period as they grow up that makes you question your wisdom in getting a puppy, though that memory fades fast, and is way overshadowed by the companionship they so freely share.
When we lost Emily, Zoe’s predecessor, we said that we were too old to get another puppy. That lasted about two months before we started looking for a Landseer breeder. Now Zoe is two years old and brings a smile to my face every time I look at her.
So my opinion is do it, and the sooner the better.

The 2 we have currently weren’t supposed to be here. For quite awhile, Sophie woyld say, when theses are gone, no more. We had 3 at the time. Then the youngest passed from congestive heart failure, leaving us with her parents.
One night, Sophie say, well, if we could find another white male, maybe. White male was our very first boxer back in 92. Looked at CL and lo and behold. So we got Kekoa. Like we did before we ended up rehoming a kitten as well. Later that year our other male, Flash, passed in his sleep. During covid, our girl Kalani passed, over 13, good for a boxer. That left us with just a single dog, Kekoa and the cat, both of whom grieved miserably. First time since the 90’s we had a single dog. We ended up getting Makani. So here we are, even older and I can’t say with any conviction what happens when one of these boys pass. Beyond that, can’t imagine being dogless.

Kinda funny story. Last Thurs, H&F night, our friend asks Sophie about the kids. Sophie immediately launched into talking about the dogs. Diane laughed and had to tell her see meant the human kids.

Ok, calling it a day. Retired weekend right?
With the BX mower deck unmounted fingered a good time to give it some love.
A few weeks ago front deck wheel catch the concrete transitioning from grass to drive. Yup, my fault.
Severely bent front of the deck on the chute side. Fortunately not enough to hinder the blade, but close.
Tried, but no way I could bend back while mounted.
But unmounted,

No, not perfect, but darn close.
Also greased everything and touched up the blades with my ryobi 1/2” belt sander
Blades in surprisingly good shape, so no need to replace.
Remounted and finished mowing back of the house.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll take a closer look at my LS oiler cooler.

IF I were to go with Federally regulated (Not likely) I would have to do the Provincial thing first anywhere from $200. to $500.oo in cost for the Provincial and just double that for Federal.
If I just run the company as a side hustle, then until I gross $30,000.oo in any quarter I don't have to charge any tax.
The thing I am wondering about is can I charge my company $30,000.oo for my Kioti and all of its' implements. Sure it is a 13 year old machine with rebuilt hydraulics, a 5 year old back hoe and various implements.

Good evening all. Moderate wind, gusty when cells around, overcast all day, and high temp was about 73ºF. 1.1 inch in gauge when I got home. Forecast showing more rain in forecast than showed this morning, some heavy weather in area, getting close as it becomes close to bed time. Path to shelter open.
Drive from Miami, OK didn't have any issues. Have trial Sirius on, was nice not doing the hunt for radio station every 75 or 100 miles. Everything unloaded but garment bag. Sunrise service in morning and tired so ending not quite where I wanted to.

Poured first cup of coffee. 37° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 57° with a few clouds. Got barn cleaned up and all tools put away. Neighbor was having problems with toilet not shutting water off. Used some PB Blaster to free up arm. Easy fix. Did other house toilet while I was there.
Going to be a busy day on the phone with family and friends.

Good Morning and Happy Easter,
Ct, 61 to start going to 71. I could see the moon going out to get the paper so it looks like our sunrise church service should be a real sunrise service.

Ron, beautiful cardinal picture this morning, how appropriate for Easter Sunday.

Yesterday afternoon I fiddled around with my old Wheel Horse tractor. Put in new points , condenser and coil. Finally did get it running, oh and a new battery. The gas in the tank is kind of old so at some point that needs to get changed out and the gas tank needs to be cleaned. The engine would run for awhile and then start to die. Engine probably needs a rebuild, just not sure how much money I want to spend on it.

Today, early church service and then our youngest son is having the family down to his home for Easter Dinner. Kathleen has made up bags for all the grand kids so they will have a ball.

remarkably warm night last night and still warm this morning.
at 2am some crazy bird started squawking outside, one I've never heard before, loud enough to wake me up.
an odd alarm clock but went back to bed
some birds and animals come out at night, like owls, so always wonder what the night scene is like out there.
bet there are some red foxes around. A chicken's worst nightmare.

David, great job on that mower deck. Interesting wear strips, seems like a good idea.
my lawn mower deck does not raise up high enough for me to clear several areas and I have to slowly go
clanking across, squeezed through the only opening wide enough for the mower.
I wish it had a travel position ever further up but the machinery is almost hitting as it is.

have my giftee chocolate bunnies in the fridge, ready to go this afternoon to the kids.
one dark chocolate and one milk chocolate.
younger sister and older brother. Sister will get choice because
"ladies first". Brother is new teen with acne so eating that chocolate might not be the
best thing for him. I was thinking, ever the romantic, he could give it to a girl in school he wanted to make smile.
he's just 14 so might be too shy. But, Uncle Drew will explain the power of chocolate and roses to him.

made myself some bacon and about to go have an bacon and egg sandwich. I've been having yogurt and blueberries
most mornings so nice to have a change. Though I did get that yummy spinach egg sandwich at the restaurant yesterday.
I can tell I've put weight back on. At least my labs came back fine. A little high on total cholesterol because I cut back on taking statins
but my AIC dropped a tiny bit. That's a score and I'll take it. All my blood labs looked good. One of those is a cancer marker that my oncologist orders.

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Plans for today...1 area left snow pile down embankment heavy mix with driveway gravel,ground to soggy for front loader break up the pile so I'll putter on that with Armstrong backhoe...handle shovel... for while,other than that putter and see what the day offers.

Happy Easter! 72˚F, a small line of rain heading this way before church. Hoping we can squeeze a half inch of rain out of it. This afternoon it will be a sunny 80˚.

BIL has been buried, finishing the last page of his life and death.

After the trip to Houston an early morning shift at the "Farm", and despite the 50% chance of rain forecasted, several thousand people came out on this holiday weekend. They had me hustling with waiting lines and several full trailers. The kids every half hour Easter egg hunts had long lines, and the baby animals bottle feedings sold out. The Strawberry fields had lots of pickers.

Good Morning
60° and partly cloudy with a nice breeze. Yesterday almost made it to 80. It was warmer here when I got home than it was when I left Palm Beach.

The trip went well other than having to get up so early. Had a great view of Cape Fear / Wilmington,NC from 45,000 feet coming in from over the Atlantic. That’s high enough that you can just barely see the curvature of the earth.

I got home early enough to be productive, but couldn’t really find the ambition to do much. I watered some new sod and the balls of the Arborvitae that get planted tomorrow.

Downloaded the tracks from Friday’s rehearsal from the recorder’s hard drive, rough mixed them and uploaded to the cloud to share with the boys. 2 hours is about 15gb of data before it’s mixed into two tracks.

Today I am going to survey how dry the ground is, I should hook up the progressive mower and take it for a tour of the property, also need to put the grapple on the loader and clean up some brush from downed trees that I cut up.

The day will start with a brunch at sons and Easter egg hunt for grandson. The walk down there will count as part of the aforementioned survey.

A storm went through with high winds and knocked out power last night. It came back after a while and did not see any trees down

Did a post office run. Mowed the areas close to the house and discovered that there are more sticks to pick up. The Redbuds are getting more vibrant in colors. With over a hundred of them it really brightens up the view

Was kind of dragging a bit yesterday so no energy left for working on the projects
